There are about 10004 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Brazil. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Adherence to obesity treatment programs has been a limiting factor to good results in loosing weight. This study aimed to verify if obese subjects submitted to a physical exercise program and group psychotherapy would have a greater adherence, than obese people exercising only.

1. LOCATION OF STUDY: Multicentric study in Brazil. 2. PURPOSE OF THE STUDY: To measure changes in HOMA index when non-diabetic patients in APD were exposed to 7,5% Icodextrin for the long-dwell; and to compare such changes with those produced by 2,5% glucose for the long-dwell. 3. PRIMARY OUTCOME: The primary efficacy outcome was to measure HOMA index to set the differences with regard to baseline values of this variable for the two groups as well as in each group, which showed control of the glucose metabolism. STAGE OF THE STUDY : Phase IV postmarket study DESIGN: Randomized, open-label, multicenter study. Patients were randomized to receive either to Extraneal (7,5% Icodextrin) or 2.5% Dianeal during the long-dwell. SAMPLE SIZE: Randomization Upon completion of the study TOTAL: 120 60 ExtranealTM 60 30 Dianeal® 60 30 Duration: 1 year.
Impaired glucose tolerance is associated with an increased risk of developing cardiovascular disease and atherosclerosis for reasons not yet totally understood. Previous studies evaluated the kinetics of plasma LDL and a faster removal rate of free cholesterol in normolipidemic patients with diagnosed arterial coronary disease and deposits of this cholesterol on the blood vessel walls. This disassociation of the cholesterol may suggest a new mechanism for not only the genesis but for the progression of arterial coronary disease. The objective of this research was to study the plasma kinetics of free cholesterol and cholesterol ester in impaired glucose tolerance patient, asymptomatic for coronary artery disease (CAD), to elucidate mechanisms involved in atherogenesis in these patients.
The aim of this study is to determine the impact of reduction mammaplasty on sexuality and depression predictors in women with macromastia.
The purpose of this study is to promote a prevention of the complications using an elaborate guide effective and easy to understand.
The purpose of this study was to investigate if salivary flow rate is important to maintain adequate oral functions.
The purpose of this study is to characterize the posture and respiratory function of mouth-breathing children.
To evaluate the clinical outcomes of Intrastromal Corneal Ring Segment (ICRS) implantation to correct high-degree astigmatism on eyes with prior penetrating keratoplasty (PK).
This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled parallel arm study will assess efficacy and safety and the effects of taspoglutide on cardiovascular events in patients with inadequately controlled type 2 diabetes mellitus and established cardiovascular disease. Patients will be randomized to receive either taspoglutide subcutaneously (sc) 10mg weekly for 4 weeks followed by 20mg sc weekly, or weekly sc placebo, in addition to background anti-hyperglycemic medication and standard of care treatment for cardiovascular disease. Anticipated time on study treatment is up to 2 years. Target sample size is 2000 patients.
