Effect of LED Therapy for Treatment Nipple Fissure

ELTTNF
Start date: August 20, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Treatment options for nipple fissures include drug therapy with antifungal and antibiotics, topical applications of lanolin, glycerin gel, creams and lotions, the milk itself, hot compresses and silicone nipple shields. Studies involving a light-emitting diode (LED) therapy have demonstrated anti-inflammatory properties, the enhancement of the wound repair process and the control of pain.

NCT ID: NCT03491527 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Endodontically Treated Teeth

Influence of Resin Cement Composition on the Longevity of Intraradicular Post of Endodontically Treated Teeth

Start date: May 1, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of this study is through a randomized clinical trial, double blind, splithmouth, evaluate the success rate (post or dental crown displacement; fracture of the core/post/crown; marginal integrity and absence of endotontic alterations) of definitive indirect crowns un endodontically treated teeth. The composition of the resin cement (with and without mineral trioxide aggregate) will be evaluated. Data will be collected, tabulated and submitted to statistical analysis.

NCT ID: NCT03491488 Not yet recruiting - Executive Function Clinical Trials

Brain Games to Improve Executive Function in São Paulo, Brazil

Start date: April 16, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

A growing body of research has highlighted the critical importance of children's self-regulation and executive function skills for their school performance as well as for their later life outcomes. Starting around age three, children have a unique potential to improve these skills and establish positive behaviors that will support them in school and life. This project will adapt, implement and evaluate the effectiveness of the Brain Games intervention package as a tool to improve children's self-regulation and executive function skills. Brain Games were developed as part of larger behavioral intervention package in the US, and are designed to build the fundamental self-regulation skills that children need to be successful in school as well as later in life. The Brain Games curriculum will be adapted to Brazil, and evaluated through a 12 month randomized controlled trial with 60 crèches in São Paulo to assess its impact on children's self-regulation and executive functioning skills.

NCT ID: NCT03490526 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Endodontically Treated Teeth

Root Canal Disinfection: a Comparison Between Techniques

Start date: May 2, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Caries disease is still the leading cause of severe tooth decay. Since this can lead to tooth loss, it is important that appropriate treatment is advised to help prevent damage and maintain tooth health. Faced with major coronary destruction, several times it becomes necessary to perform the endodontic treatment, aiming to maintain the element in the buccal cavity for longer. It is known that an excellent restorative treatment with poor endodontic treatment and vice versa has a direct impact on the (in) success of the treatment. In this context, the proper cleaning of the root canals is highlighted, aiming the removal of bacteria and toxins. There are several cleaning methods described in the literature, but it is not yet known which would be the most effective in the removal of these contaminants. In this double-blind randomized clinical trial, patients who need and meet the inclusion criteria will undergo endodontic treatment in two different root canal cleansing techniques (passive ultrasonic cleaning and cleaning with the XP Endo device). Patients will be monitored annually after finish your endodontic treatment to evaluate the periradicular repair and the quality of endodontic treatment.

NCT ID: NCT03488316 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Endodontic Treatment

Influence of Temporary Filling Material Composition on the Success Rate of Endodontic Treatments

Start date: May 1, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of this study is through a randomized clinical trial, double blind, splitmouth, evaluate the success rate (contamination rate, periapical lesion relapse and the presence of exudate between the treatment's sessions) of endodontically treated teeth that required filling with temporary material. The composition of the temporary filling material (cement (Based on calcium hydroxide; and based on mineral trioxide aggregate) will be evaluated. Data will be collected, tabulated and submitted to statistical analysis.

NCT ID: NCT03469778 Not yet recruiting - Stroke Clinical Trials

Assessment of a Upper Limb Robotic Device in Stroke Patients

Start date: May 2, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The objectives of this phase II clinical study are: evaluate the efficacy, safety, patient adeherence and clinical applicability of a new robotic device for patients with stroke at a physical rehabilitation institution (Instituto de Medicina Física e Reabilitação do Hospital das Clínicas da Universidade de São Paulo - IMREA HCFMUSP - Rede de Reabilitação Lucy Montoro, unidade Vila Mariana). Methods: 10 patients with stroke diagnosis and Fugl-Meyer score ranging from 34 to 55 will be selected to be included in the study. After signing the informed consent form and being assessed by the baseline evaluations, they will undertake 18 sessions of robotic therapy, which in its turn will be prescribed three times a week. After this period, the patients will be evaluated for future comparison of both the pre-treatment and final assessments.

NCT ID: NCT03440268 Not yet recruiting - Acute Kidney Injury Clinical Trials

Prevention of Acute Kidney Injury by N-Acetylcystein in Patients Undergone Cardiac Valve Replacement

Start date: March 15, 2018
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

This is a randomized clinical trial, double-blind, placebo-controlled study with the goal to assess the influence of using N-AcetylCysteyn (NAC) for prevention of AKI (Acute Kidney Injury) in post operatory of valve replacement until their discharge or death

NCT ID: NCT03438214 Not yet recruiting - Sepsis Clinical Trials

Effect of Intermittent Infusion Versus Continuous Infusion of Vancomycin on Kidney Failure in Critically Ill Patients

ETERNITY
Start date: April 28, 2018
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

This is a randomized, controlled multicenter clinical trial.
