There are about 13446 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Belgium. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This study aims to investigate safety and efficacy of the Occlutech® AFR device in patients with HFrEF (Heart failure with reduced ejection fraction) and HFpEF (Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction)
Prospective, double-blind, randomized assessment of the efficacy, safety and pharmacokinetic of Aerucin® as adjunct treatment (in addition to standard of care antibiotics) for pneumonia caused by P. aeruginosa.
The FAPIC project will develop a diagnostic system that will identify pathogens and charachterize virulence and resistance. A prospective study will be performed in which blood samples will be collected of patients with suspected sepsis in order to evaluate the diagnostic system. In routine care, blood is drawn of these patients for culture in order to identify the causative pathogen. This process takes 3-5 days. During the study, one extra blood sample will be collected with the same venipuncture, with each blood culture. Afterwards, routine diagnosis by blood culture is followed. Blood samples will be send to the research laboratories for determination of sensitivity and specificity. The system will not be used in the clinic.
To determine the safety and efficacy of the BMFM® kit in the use for the endovascular treatment of aortic aneurysms involving iliac arteries. The BMFM® kit is an adaptation of the aortic MFM® to the aortoiliac bifurcation morphology. It should be noted that the aortic MFM® has CE mark approval for the aortic aneurysm treatment.
Study to Evaluate the Effects of PT003 and Placebo MDI on Specific Image Based Airway Volumes and Resistance With Moderate to Severe COPD.
The purpose of this study is to assess the rate and extent of absorption of JNJ63623872 following administration of a single oral dose of 2*300 milligram (mg) given as 2 concept single agent tablet formulations compared to the administration of 2*300 mg JNJ63623872 reference tablets, under fasted conditions in healthy adult participants and to assess the rate and extent of absorption of JNJ63623872 and oseltamivir following administration of a single oral dose of 2*300 mg/37.5 mg JNJ63623872/ oseltamivir given as a concept fixed dose combination (FDC) tablet formulation compared to the coadministration of 2*300 mg JNJ63623872 tablets (reference formulation) and 1*75 mg oseltamivir capsule, under fasted conditions in healthy adult participants.
The study compares two lengths of medication therapy (a shortened versus a prolonged dual antiplatelet therapy) in order to prevent thrombus (blood cloth) formation after the successfully treatment for coronary heart disease with a drug covered stent (metallic tube). This comparison will be done in patients who, compared to the average patient, are more likely to suffer from complications on antiplatelet therapy (bleeding). Both durations are within the current medical recommendations. The aim of this study is to help improve further standard antiplatelet duration guidelines.
This study will have 2 parts: Pharmacokinetics (PK) Lead-in Phase and the Treatment Phase. The primary objective of the PK Lead-in Phase is to evaluate the steady state PK and confirm the dose of sofosbuvir/velpatasvir (SOF/VEL) fixed-dose combination (FDC) in pediatric participants with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. The primary objective of the Treatment Phase is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of SOF/VEL for 12 weeks in pediatric participants with chronic HCV.
The SARA-OBS is a single arm phase 2 clinical trial, with no investigational product and no therapeutic intervention that will be conducted in three European countries, (Belgium, France and Italy), and in the US. 300 community dwelling older adults (men or women≥65 years) reporting loss of physical function and at risk of mobility disability, will undergo mobility functional evaluation and Dual-energy X-ray Absorptiometry DXA scan for body composition determination twice, at six-month interval. Participants aged ≥ 65 years complaining of poor physical function will be selected to perform SPPB (Short Physical Performance Battery)tests. Those with SPPB scores ≤ 8/12 will be selected to perform body composition analysis with DXA Scan. Participants with ALM/BMI < 0.789 in men and 0.512 in women will be included. The investigational phase will comprise two main visits: the inclusion visit and the 6-month visit. Both the 6-minute walk distance test and the 400-metre walking test will be administered at the main visits. Patient Reported Outcomes (PROs) will be completed by the patients at the same visits.
This multicenter, open-label, non-randomized study will assess the efficacy, safety, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics of emicizumab administered at a dose of 6 milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg) every 4 weeks in participants with hemophilia A with or without inhibitors against factor VIII (FVIII). The study consists of 2 parts: a pharmacokinetic (PK) run-in part followed by an expansion part.
