NCT ID: NCT05435950 Completed - Clinical trials for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Clinical Investigation on Safety, Performance and Effectiveness of Sono-instruments

SONO-01
Start date: September 2, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Carpal Tunnel (CT) syndrome is a collection of characteristic symptoms and signs that occurs following compression of the median nerve within the CT. In Trigger Finger / trigger thumb (TF), one of the most common causes of hand pain and disability, the flexor tendon causes painful popping or snapping as the patient flexes and extends the digit. In case of failure of non-operative treatments, patients with CT syndrome or TF are operated. Clearly any improvement in surgical device design would be of great advantage to the patient and the surgeon. Spirecut's single use, pre-CE Sono-Instruments (SI) allow the percutaneous treatment of Carpal Tunnel (CT)syndrome and Trigger Finger/thumb (TF) under sonography (instead of open or endoscopic approach). Two models will be assessed in this clinical investigation: 1. The Carpal Tunnel Sono-Instrument® (CT-SI), for CT syndrome release, by progressively cutting the transverse carpal ligament. 2. The Trigger Finger Sono-Instrument® (TF-SI), for TF release by progressively cutting the A1 annual pulley. Using those SI, surgical procedures can be performed without endangering adjacent structures (e.g. median nerve and branches, ulnar pedicle, superficial carpal arch, digital pedicles, flexor tendons).

NCT ID: NCT05434559 Completed - Type 1 Diabetes Clinical Trials

NCT ID: NCT05427604 Completed - Healthy Clinical Trials

To Evaluate the Effects of Omega 3 Fatty Acids in the Context of Cancer Prevention

Start date: February 23, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Previous studies have demonstrated, in an in vitro micro-tumour model (the spheroid) and in a mouse model, that long-chain omega-3 fatty acids, in particular docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), can inhibit tumour development. Therefore, the aim of this study was to collect DHA-enriched human serum, following ingestion of a DHA-enriched oil, in order to assess its effect on tumour development in vitro. Blood enriched in fatty acids not containing DHA will be used as a control condition, obtained after ingestion of olive oil. This study is an important step to determine the interest of DHA supplementation as a new approach to prevent tumour development, and/or as an adjuvant to cancer treatments.

NCT ID: NCT05425732 Completed - Clinical trials for Pneumococcal Infection

Safety and Immunogenicity of V116 in Pneumococcal Vaccine-naïve Adults (V116-003, STRIDE-3)

Start date: July 13, 2022
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This is a phase 3, randomized, double-blind, active comparator-controlled study of the safety, tolerability, and immunogenicity of V116 compared to PCV20 (pneumococcal 20-valent conjugate vaccine ([Prevnar 20™ / APEXXNAR™]) in pneumococcal vaccine-naïve adults. It is hypothesized that V116 is noninferior to PCV20 for the common serotypes and superior to PCV20 for the unique serotypes as assessed by serotype specific opsonophagocytic activity (OPA) 30 days postvaccination. It is also hypothesized that V116 in participants 18 to 49 years of age immunobridges to V116 in participants 50 to 64 years of age as assessed by serotype specific OPA geometric mean titers (GMTs) 30 days postvaccination for all 21 serotypes in V116. Participants ≥50 years of age will be enrolled in Cohort 1, and participants 18 to 49 years of age will be enrolled in Cohort 2.

NCT ID: NCT05425407 Completed - Exercise Clinical Trials

Effects of Collagen Peptide Supplementation on Muscle and Tendon Damage and Function

Start date: April 12, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of the study is to investigate the acute and short-term effects of collagen peptides (Collagen Peptan) on muscle and connective tissue during an eccentric overload training period. Currently, all studies investigating the effects of post-exercise collagen supplementation did this in the absence of whey proteins, which are part of the standard recommendations for post-exercise recovery. The investigators will therefore investigate whether the combined intake of whey proteins and collagen peptides ensures a better recovery of exercise performance and whether it can prevent or reduce symptoms of muscle and tendon overload during a three-week eccentric overload training period (n = 22).

NCT ID: NCT05419908 Completed - Hot Flashes Clinical Trials

Trial to Investigate the Effect of ESN364 in Early Postmenopausal Women Suffering From Hot Flashes

NCT ID: NCT05419284 Completed - Stroke Clinical Trials

Feasibility of the Geriatric Activation Program Pellenberg With Caregiver Involvement

Start date: March 28, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This interventional study aims to see if involving caregivers as exercise partners with the physiotherapist throughout in-hospital geriatric rehabilitation and the first six weeks following discharge is feasible. Caregivers will receive hands-on training from physiotherapists so that they can assist their family members with their exercises. The caregivers will provide 30-minute exercise sessions three times each week in addition to the standard physiotherapy. The researchers want to know how many people are eligible for GAPP+CARE and how willing they are to participate. The researchers also want to know about the program's hindering and facilitating elements, as well as its fidelity and retention rate. Apart from that, the researchers want to examine if an effectiveness study and the used outcome measures are viable.
