FOOTDROP
Start date: April 28, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The FOOT DROP trial is a prospective, multi-center, randomized controlled trial to assess if decompressive surgery for peroneal nerve entrapment is superior to maximal conservative treatment. Patients with persisting foot drop due to peroneal nerve entrapment will be randomized to either surgery or conservative treatment if foot drop persists 10 +/- 4 weeks after onset of symptoms. Patients will be evaluated through several questionnaires, evolution of muscle strength and several types of gait assessments. Primary endpoint is the difference in distance covered during the six minute walking test between baseline and 9 months after randomization.

NCT ID: NCT04694833 Recruiting - Stroke Clinical Trials

Telerehabilitation Through Serious Games in Virtual Reality in a Stroke Population (AutoRReVi)

AutoRReVi
Start date: October 23, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

After a stroke, individuals present with motor and/or cognitive impairments. These impairments limit activity, restrict participation and affect quality of life. Therefore, rehabilitation programs are provided from the earliest days. However, an important proportion of patients do not achieve the recommended amount of rehabilitation therapy (even in institutional systems). In fact, patients do not always have access to healthcare systems. Moreover, hospital resources and healthcare systems are often limited (especially in poor countries) which has led to the development of new cost-effective rehabilitation methods such as self-rehabilitation and tele-rehabilitation. This study aims : 1. to develop and validate relevant self-assessments tools in virtual reality 2. to propose auto-adaptative virtual reality-based therapies based on the link between motor and cognitive functions.

NCT ID: NCT04691804 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Metastatic Castration-Resistant Prostate Cancer (mCRPC)

A Multicenter, Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Phase III Study of Fuzuloparib Combined With Abiraterone Acetate and Prednisone (AA-P) Versus Placebo Combined With AA-P as First-Line Treatment in Patients With Metastatic Castration-Resistant Prostate Cancer

Start date: March 18, 2021
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

To evaluate whether Fuzuloparib plus AA-P is superior to placebo plus AA-P as first-line treatment by assessment of radiographic progression-free survival (rPFS) in mCRPC subjects unselected for deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) damage repair deficiencies (DRD) status (Cohort 1) to evaluate whether Fuzuloparib plus AA-P is superior to placebo plus AA-P as first-line treatment by assessment of rPFS in mCRPC subjects harboring DRD (Cohort 2).

NCT ID: NCT04690439 Recruiting - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

Photobiomodulation Therapy for the Management of Breast Cancer-related Lymphedema

LymphLight
Start date: February 22, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Up to one out of five patients with breast cancer will develop lymphedema in the upper extremity after cancer treatment. Patients with breast cancer-related lymphedema (BCRL) suffer from pain, heaviness, tightness, and a decreased range of motion. Photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT) is a non-invasive therapy based on the application of visible and/or near-infrared light produced by a laser diode or a light-emitting diode. The scientifically proven biologic effects of PBM are improved wound healing, and a reduction in pain, inflammation, and oedema. Therefore, the aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of PBMT on the management of BCRL.

NCT ID: NCT04690023 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Total Hip Arthroplasty

PENG Block vs Supra-inguinal Fascia Iliaca Compartment Block for Postoperative Opioids Consumption and Early Motor Recovery After THA: a Randomized Controlled Non-inferiority Clinical Trial.

Start date: January 1, 2022
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

To compare the impact of pericapsular nerve group block (PENG) versus the supra-inguinal fascia-iliaca compartment block (SFICB) in postoperative analgesia, opioid sparing and enhanced recovery after surgery of total hip arthroplasty by poster-lateral approach.

NCT ID: NCT04688528 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Squamous Cell Carcinoma of Head and Neck

Dose De-escalation and Sentinel LN Mapping Driven Radiotherapy of Contralateral Neck in Ipsilateral Node Positive HNSCC

SEMIRAHN
Start date: June 10, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The study involves head and neck squamous cell carcinomas (HNSCC) of the oral cavity, oropharynx, larynx or hypopharynx with positive nodes on only one side of the neck and no distant metastasis treated by primary (chemo)radiotherapy. The elective node irradiation on the contralateral side is not always mandatory and the dose may be too high. In this study, we evaluate two strategies: the impact of sentinel lymph node mapping to tailor the volumes to irradiate and the dose reduction.

NCT ID: NCT04685746 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Neurodevelopmental Disorders

BALANCED GROWTH: The Involvement of the Vestibular System in a Child's Cognitive and Motor Development

Start date: July 29, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

When a vestibular dysfunction occurs at birth or in early stages of life, one might expect that this may have an enormous impact on a child's development. It is known that a severe congenital or early acquired vestibular deficit in children results in delayed psychomotor milestones. Later in life, children with a vestibular dysfunction may have difficulties with several balance tasks and additional cognitive, motor and/or psychosocial performances. While a few authors have suggested that there is indeed an influence of a vestibular dysfunction upon these different developmental domains (cognitive, motor, educational and psychosocial development), which can be supported by findings in clinical practice as well, literature concerning this topic remains fairly limited. On the other hand, several studies have shown that children with known difficulties in motor and/or cognitive functions have more difficulties in vestibular performances in comparison with their unaffected peers. Although more frequently discussed, the literature on this population is rather scarce too. Therefore, the current project aims to investigate the relationship with and the involvement of the vestibular system in the motor and cognitive development of school-aged children.
