Registry Investigating the Clinical Use and Safety of the Lutonix Drug Coated Balloon for Treatment of BTK Arteries

The study will enroll patients presenting with claudication, or critical limb ischemia (Rutherford Category 3- 5) and an angiographically significant (≥ 70%) native artery lesion appropriate for angioplasty that is below the knee. Subjects will be treated with the Lutonix Drug Coated Balloon (DCB) carrying the CE Mark per current IFU and followed clinically for a minimum of 2 years.

Study of Voncento® in Subjects With Von Willebrand Disease

This is a multi-centre, open-label, single-arm, phase 4, post-marketing study to further investigate the efficacy and safety of Voncento in subjects with Von Willebrand Disease (VWD) in whom treatment with a Von Willebrand Factor (VWF) product is required as on-demand therapy, for prophylactic therapy, or during surgery. Subjects will be treated with Voncento either as an on-demand regimen (eg, to treat a non-surgical spontaneous or traumatic bleeding event) or prevention regimen (eg, to prevent an anticipated bleeding event) at a dose prescribed by the Investigator in accordance with the Voncento Summary of Product Characteristics (SmPC), or with a prophylaxis regimen (regular treatment with Voncento at a frequency of 1-3 times per week). Voncento will also be given to prevent and treat any surgical bleeding events.

Optical Angiography in Glaucoma

Glaucoma is one of the leading causes for blindness in industrialized countries. It is characterized by a progressive loss of retinal ganglion cells, morphological changes in the optic nerve head and a characteristic loss of visual field. It has been speculated for a long time that vascular factors may also contribute to the pathogenesis of the disease. This concept has been supported by several epidemiological studies showing that small retinal vessel calibre are associated with the disease. In the recent years tremendous enhancements in the field of optical coherence tomography has been achieved. These developments made it possible to visualize the retinal vasculature in a full depth manner without the application of an intravenous marker. The proposed study tests the hypothesis that patients with glaucoma show altered vascular morphology compared to healthy subjects. This is of importance because it may clarify the degree of vascular involvement in glaucoma.

Training Induced Reduction of Lower-limb Joint Loads During Locomotion in Obese Children

Childhood obesity is one of the most critical and accelerating health challenges throughout the world. It is a major risk factor for developing varus/valgus misalignments of the knee joint. The combination of misalignment at the knee and excess body mass may result in increased joint stress and damage to articular cartilage. A training programme, which aims at developing a more neutral alignment of the trunk and lower limbs during movement tasks may be able to reduce knee loading during locomotion. Despite the large number of guidelines for muscle strength training and neuromuscular exercises that exists, most are not specifically designed to target the obese children and adolescent demographic. The purpose of this study is to evaluate a training programme which combines strength and neuromuscular exercises specifically designed to the needs and limitations of obese children and adolescents and analyse the effects of the training programme from a biomechanical and clinical point of view.

Changes in Ocular Rigidity After Trabeculectomy in Patients With POAG

It has been hypothesized that the biomechanical properties of the optic nerve head and/or sclera play a role in the development of glaucoma. One approach of gaining insight into the biomechanical properties of the eye by the means of clinical studies is based on the Friedenwald equation, representing a pressure-volume relationship. This equation represents the so called ocular rigidity, which expresses the elasticity of the globe. In order to be able to solve the equation, measurements of fundus pulsation amplitude (FPA) with laser interferometry and dynamic contour tonometric assessment of the pulse amplitude (PA) have to be performed. In addition choroidal thickness will be assessed with OCT before and after trabeculectomy, since results in choroidal thickness measurements in patients with glaucoma are controversial. The focus of this study lies on the changes of ocular rigidity and choroidal thickness after surgical trabeculectomy in patients with primary open angle glaucoma (POAG) or pseudoexfoliation glaucoma (PEX).
