NCT ID: NCT06423118 Recruiting - Aging Clinical Trials

Sleep Apnea and Cognition in Older Adults

Start date: April 9, 2024
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The goal of this cross-sectional, observational, medical device trial is to examine the association of several sleep parameters, including specific respiratory events and an apnea-hypopnea index, with cognitive performance in older adults. The main question the study aims to answer is: Is there an association between sleep parameters with cognitive performance? Researchers will collect sleep parameters from participants using a device called the ANNE Vital Sign System and will test whether they are associated with performance on different memory and thinking tasks. Participants will: Complete a battery of cognitive tests to assess their memory and thinking performance. Wear the ANNE Vital Sign System continuously for a period of 24 hours.

NCT ID: NCT06376032 Recruiting - Cognition Clinical Trials

EndeavorOTC® Research Study in College Students

Start date: January 10, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The objective of this study is to evaluate the impact of a digital therapeutic (EndeavorOTC®, also known as AKL-T01A) on clinical symptoms of executive and cognitive functioning in a real-world sample of university students. This study aims to answer whether EndeavorOTC represents a useful intervention for targeting broad cognitive and emotional health among university students.

NCT ID: NCT06331286 Recruiting - Obesity Clinical Trials

The Effect of Dulaglutide as an Adjuvant Therapy on Cognitive Function in Bipolar Disorder Patients With Obesity

Start date: September 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The primary objective of this study is to investigate the effect of dulaglutide adjuvant treatment in patients with bipolar disorder with obesity, in addition to exploring the effect of GLP-1RA on cognition of bipolar disorder.

NCT ID: NCT06313021 Recruiting - Stroke Clinical Trials

Turkish Version of the Brief Assessment of Cognitive Impairment in Individuals With Stroke Scale

Start date: January 15, 2024
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Cognitive processing involves many interrelated cognitive domains, such as performing daily tasks, attention, language, and memory. 70% of individuals with stroke experience cognitive problems. Due to cognitive problems, individuals with stroke have difficulty processing and planning information. This situation negatively affects daily living activities and returning to work. Cognitive disorders that occur after stroke negatively affect the functional independence of individuals. At the same time, individuals with stroke have difficulty structuring and organizing information. The individual may not be able to pay sufficient attention during the activity in terms of planning, automatic attention and adaptation to the stages required by the job. Cognitive evaluation should include cognition, orientation, and higher cortical functions because the cognitive process is a very complex process. Assessment methods frequently used in cognitive evaluation of stroke patients; Scales and tests such as Simple Mental Test, Mini Mental State Test, Montreal Cognitive Assessment Scale, Wechsler Memory and Intelligence Test are used. General problems with these evaluations; Some of them have a long application period, some of them have problems in perception of the patients, and some of them have a low power to distinguish the cognitive problems of the patients. When the Brief Assessment of Cognitive Impairment Scale, a newly introduced scale in the literature, is examined; It attracts attention because the items are very simple for patients to perceive, combine cognitive tests and cognitive questionnaires, have a short application period, and have not shown a ceiling or floor effect in previous studies. For all these reasons, this study was planned to conduct the Turkish validity and reliability study of the Brief Assessment of Cognitive Impairment Scale.

NCT ID: NCT06308731 Recruiting - Cognition Clinical Trials

Exercise-Induced Rates of Fat Oxidation With and Without Ingestion of a Caffeine-Based Energy Drink

EDX
Start date: January 19, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate acute changes in rates of fat oxidation during exercise with and without the ingestion of a caffeine-based energy drink.

NCT ID: NCT06274658 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Spinal Cord Injuries

The Effects of an Acute High-intensity Exercise on Heart and Brain Function in People With Spinal Cord Injury

Start date: February 14, 2024
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The heart and brain are regulated by the autonomic nervous system. Control of these organs can be disrupted in people with spinal cord injury (SCI). This may affect their ability to regulate blood pressure during daily activities and process the high-level information. Previous studies show that high-intensity exercise induces better outcomes on heart and information processing ability in non-injured people compared to moderate-intensity exercise. However, it is unknown the effects of high-intensity exercise on heart and brain function in people with SCI. Therefore, this study aims to examine the effects of a single bout of high-intensity interval training on heart and brain function in this people with SCI compared to age- and sex-matched non-injured controls.

NCT ID: NCT06254638 Recruiting - Physical Activity Clinical Trials

NCT ID: NCT06197477 Recruiting - Cognition Clinical Trials

Indoor Air Quality Monitoring and Impact on Children's Health

LEARN
Start date: November 20, 2023

This study aims at understanding the relation between indoor air quality in schools, including both chemical and microbiological determinants, and cognition in children by gathering data across different parts of Europe

NCT ID: NCT06097182 Recruiting - Sleep Clinical Trials

Postbiotic Intervention for Acute Stress Management

PIAS
Start date: October 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The study aims to evaluate the sub-chronic effects of colonic delivery of a postbiotic on stress response, mood state, sleep, and cognition in healthy young subjects with elevated self-reported stress levels. It is hypothesized that oral intake of the postbiotic, when released in the colonic intestinal site, leads to a blunted subjective and objective stress response after a stress induction.
