The purpose of the Phase I part of this research study is to determine the safest and most effective dose of Abraxane when given in combination with carboplatin and Erbitux during radiation therapy for head and neck cancer. Vorinostat (Suberoylanilide Hydroxamic Acid; NSC 701852) is a drug that inhibits an enzyme that plays a key role in the regulation of cell survival, growth, and eventual cell death, all of which play a role in cancer. As a result, this drug has the potential to affect a tumor's ability to survive. Vorinostat is the most potent drug of its kind that is currently under investigation in clinical trials. The primary objective of this study is to define the maximum safest dose of vorinostat in combination with a standard chemotherapy agent, docetaxel, in patients with advanced and relapsed lung, bladder, or prostate cancer.
To test the therapeutic ratio of accelerated radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy on locally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
For most patients with hepatocellular carcinoma, surgery or other curative procedures are not possible and only palliative measures could be applied (chemoembolization, targeted drugs, best supportive cares, etc). In the ICAR study, increasing doses of a cell therapy product will be evaluated in patients in a palliative setting. All patients will have one hepatic intra-arterial injection of immunological cells (gamma-delta T lymphocytes) and will be evaluated for safety.
Primary Objective: - To determine the progression-free survival (PFS) times for patients with advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC) treated with decitabine and interferon alfa-2b. Secondary Objectives: - To determine the toxicity of the combination of decitabine and interferon alfa-2b at the proposed dose and schedule in patients with advanced RCC - To determine overall response by Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST) criteria for patients with advanced RCC treated with decitabine and interferon alfa-2b. - To determine the overall survival times for patients with advanced RCC treated with decitabine and interferon. - To study the effects of decitabine and interferon alfa-2b on DNA methylation and gene expression in patients' tumor and non-tumor tissues and their correlation with clinical outcomes. - To characterize the modulation of cellular immunity induced by the combination of decitabine and interferon alfa-2b in patients with advanced RCC and to correlate these results with clinical outcomes.
The primary objective of this study is to compare the effectiveness of a dose-escalation regimen (400 to 800mg bid) relative to the standard dosing regimen (400mg bid) of sorafenib given in patients with metastatic RCC. The secondary objectives are to evaluate the effects of the dose-escalation regimen on the quality of life (QoL) of patients with metastatic RCC and to characterize the safety and tolerability profile of a dose-escalation regimen of sorafenib in patients with metastatic RCC.
This is an open-label multicenter, phase 1-2 study. Following determination of the recommended AEG35156 dose in combination with gemcitabine in the initial Phase 1 part of this study, additional patients will be enrolled in the Phase 2 part of the study to assess the activity of the combination first-line in advanced pancreatic cancer.
