Filter by:The objective of this pilot study is to evaluate the safety, tolerability and activity of the monoclonal antibody CT-011 administered intravenously to patients with Primary Hepatocellular Carcinoma.
This randomized phase II trial studies how well carboplatin, paclitaxel, and bevacizumab (CPB) work when given with or without cixutumumab in treating patients with non-small cell lung cancer that is stage IV or has come back (recurrent). Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as paclitaxel and carboplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Monoclonal antibodies, such as bevacizumab, may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Other types of monoclonal antibodies, such as cixutumumab, may find tumor cells and help kill them. It is not yet known whether giving more than one drug (combination chemotherapy) together with bevacizumab is more effective when given with or without cixutumumab in treating patients with non-small cell lung cancer.
The purpose of this study is to assess magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) as a tool to track tumor growth for renal cell carcinoma while participants are on clinical treatment therapy of sunitinib and AMG386. An MRI is a type of scan that uses powerful magnets to make clearer images or to focus on detailed medical information in the abdomen and pelvis. The imaging done for this study will use the arterial spin labeling (ASL) MRI technique that allows us to see blood flow changes which possibly may indicate changes in tumor growth. Participants will be on a clinical trial for the treatment.

Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as carboplatin and paclitaxel, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Bevacizumab may prevent the growth of new blood vessels that tumor needs to grow. Cetuximab may also stop cancer cells from growing by binding and interfering with a protein on the surface of the tumor cell that is needed for tumor growth. It is not yet known whether giving carboplatin and paclitaxel are more effective with or without bevacizumab and/or cetuximab in treating patients with non-small cell lung cancer.
The purpose of this study is to determine the treatment outcome of postoperative concurrent chemoradiation for head and neck squamous cell carcinoma with multiple minor risks.
The aim of this study is to identify and/or validate biomarkers and imaging markers to predict and monitor the activity of a new class of therapeutic agents called antiangiogenics for the treatment of metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC). Suntinib, approved for this indication, will be administred before and after nephrectomy and biomarkers sampling and imaging will be operated to monitor the activity and identify prognostic factors in mRCC.
Background: - Ixabepilone is a member of the class of drugs called epothilones. These drugs interfere with the ability of cancer cells to replicate. - Epothilones are similar to taxanes, another class of drugs, which includes the drug Taxol. Taxol is widely used to treat a variety of cancers. - Ixabepilone can work in cells that are resistant to Taxol. Objectives: - To determine whether ixabepilone is effective for treating cervical cancer. Eligibility: - Women 18 years of age or older with cervical cancer. Design: - Patients receive ixabepilone intravenously (through a vein) over 60 minutes on the first 5 days of each 21-day treatment cycle. Their dosage may be adjusted according to how their bodies respond to the drug. - The number of cycles each woman receives depends on her response to the treatment. - Patients have CT (computed tomography) scans and other tests before starting treatment and then every other treatment cycle to determine the response of the tumor to ixabepilone. - Patients who can undergo a tumor biopsy (surgical removal of a sample of tumor tissue) are asked to have a biopsy done before starting treatment with ixabepilone and again on the fourth or fifth day of treatment. This procedure is optional.
Immune therapies, such as a IL-2, for metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC) are designed to mobilize immune effector cells that recognize and destroy cancer. The investigators have recently observed a 50% objective response rate (16% CR) in mRCC patients treated with autologous tumor lysate -dendritic cell (DC)-vaccine, IL-2 and interferon alfa (IFN). New agents inhibiting vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) pathways have demonstrated significant benefit in mRCC patients as well, but rarely induce CRs. High blood VEGF is associated with poor response to IL-2 and can cause tumor specific immune dysregulation. To test whether complementary mechanisms of immune activation and disruption of regulatory pathways enhance outcome the investigators plan to treat 24 mRCC patients in a phase II trial using bevacizumab, DC vaccine, IL-2, and IFN. Observations from this project will be used in the development of novel cancer therapies which, if successful, will decrease the burden of cancer on the public. The investigators propose to determine 1) the objective clinical response rate to treatment and progression free survival, 2) the clinical and autoimmune related toxicity profile of therapy, and 3) the treatment related tumor-specific immune response and the relationship of tumor-specific immune response and objective clinical response.
The purpose of this study is to determine the false negative rate (FNR) associated with Lymphoseek-identified sentinel lymph nodes (SLNs) relative to the pathological status of non-sentinel lymph nodes in elective neck dissection (END) in head & neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). NEO3-06 (this study) is a Phase 3 clinical trial designed to supplement NEO3-05, a completed Phase 3 clinical trial conducted in patients with breast cancer or melanoma. NEO3-05 was designed to establish Lymphoseek as an effective radio-diagnostic agent to be used in the intraoperative localization of lymph tissue (nodes) in the lymphatic pathway draining the primary site of a tumor.
The objectives of this study are: - To determine the safety and MTD of CPI-613, when used in combination with Gemcitabine, in cancer patients. - To compare the safety and efficacy of CPI-613/Gemcitabine combination vs. Gemcitabine alone in patients with carcinoma of the pancreas.
