Filter by:This is a parallel arm study to evaluate AGS-8M4 administered in combination with chemotherapy in subjects with ovarian cancer. AGS-8M4 will be administered as an IV infusion until disease worsens.
This study will accrue in two "phases". During the first "phase" of the study, the optimal dose of temsirolimus in combination with cisplatin and cetuximab will be determined. It is expected that between 9-12 patients will be needed for this dose finding phase. Once the optimal dose has been determined, an additional 41 patients will be enrolled in the second "phase" of the study. The primary purpose of second phase of the study is to learn what effects, good and/or bad, temsirolimus in combination with cisplatin and cetuximab has on recurrent or metastatic head and neck cancer. Collection of additional blood and tissue specimens will make it possible to do special tests, which will provide us information about how tumors respond to the chemotherapy, how your body breaks down and processes the drug, how differences in the genetic makeup of each person affects how the drug may work and is processed in the body, and how the drug affects proteins and cells in the body. We hope to determine if results of the specialized tests done on blood will help to predict which patients are more likely to benefit from the use of the drugs used in this study.
The intent of the study is to assess the antitumor activity of PHA-848125AC as second-line treatment in patients with recurrent or metastatic, unresectable thymic carcinoma previously treated with chemotherapy.
The primary objective of this study is to assess the overall survival (OS) of oral linifanib given as monotherapy once daily (QD) compared to sorafenib given twice daily (BID) per standard of care in subjects with advanced or metastatic HCC.
The primary hypothesis of this study is that the addition of mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) blockade to conventional epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) blockade will result in synergistic clinical activity in Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Head and Neck (SCCHN), consistent with preclinical xenograft data. Patients will be treated with the combination of temsirolimus and erlotinib, at the previously established Maximal Tolerated Dose (MTD). The primary signal of efficacy will be progression free survival (PFS), anticipating that PFS will be prolonged compared to historical PFS in SCCHN patients treated with erlotinib or cetuximab monotherapy.
This study is to determine the safety and efficacy of stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) and treatment drug in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma.
This is a prospective, randomized clinical trial conducted at the Unviersity of Wisconsin (UW) Dermatology Clinic located at 1 S. Park Street, Madison, WI 53715. There are no controls. Subjects meeting eligibility criteria are randomly divided into one of two treatment groups (ED&C x 1 cycle or ED&C x 3 cycles) using computer generated random numbers. One cycle of ED&C is defined according to standard technique currently employed. It involves scraping away the tumor with a curette (ring- shaped instrument) and then burning the curetted site with a small electric needle (electrodessication). During Visit 1, the surgical site is marked, local numbing medication is injected, and 1 or 3 cycles of ED&C is/are performed by board-certified dermatologists or a dermatology resident under the direct supervision of a board certified dermatologist. All follow-up visits (3, 6, 9, and 12 months after Visit 1) include skin evaluations by the physician who performed the ED&C. The lesion site is examined, measured, and photographed for clinical evidence of recurrence, as defined by a new lesion within the previously treated site. If there is evidence of possible tumor recurrence at the treated surgical site during Visit 2, 3, 4 or 5, then the lesion will be biopsied using a shave procedure.
This phase 2, multicenter, randomized, open-label, comparative study was designed to determine the effect of darbepoetin alfa on hospital days, economic outcomes, and health related quality of life (HRQOL) in anemic patients with nonmyeloid malignancies who were not receiving chemotherapy. Participants were randomly assigned in a 4:1 allocation ratio to receive either 21 weeks of darbepoetin alfa treatment (treatment group) or 12 weeks of observation followed by up to 9 weeks of darbepoetin alfa treatment (observation group).

The purpose of this phase I study is to determine the maximal tolerable dose (MTD) of thalidomide (THADO®) in combination with fixed dose of sorafenib (NEXAVAR®) for the treatment of advanced or metastatic HCC. The Phase II purpose of this study is to determine the disease control rate (complete response + partial response + stable disease) for at least 4 months of sorafenib (NEXAVAR®) plus phase I determined MTD of thalidomide (THADO®) in patients with advanced or metastatic HCC.
