This is a first in man study to determine if [203Pb]VMT-α-NET identifies neuroendocrine tumors with SPECT/CT. This is the first step to testing [212Pb]-based alpha radiation therapy in neuroendocrine therapy.
This research will aid in understanding of slow-breathing and its effect on heart rate and blood pressure in people with a spinal cord injury (SCI). This research will investigate if traditional 'yogic' breathing exercises can be performed by subjects with SCI and its influence on the cardiovascular system.
The purpose of this study is to measure the impact of thyroid radiofrequency ablation procedure on patients with thyroid-related symptoms using a modified pre-existing scoring system.
This study will provide long-term follow-up for patients who have received treatment with WU-CART-007 in a previous clinical trial. In this study, patients will be followed for up to 15 years after their last dose of WU-CART-007 for evaluation of delayed adverse events, presence of persisting WU-CART-007 vector sequences, and overall survival and progression-free survival.
A reliable method for monitoring stress and burnout among medical students is critically needed. To address this gap, our team aims to utilize the cost-effective WHOOP strap 4.0 wearable device to continuously capture stress-relevant physiologic data (i.e., sleep hours, heart rate variability, respiration rate, resting heart rate) among up to 50 third-year medical students at 24 Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University for 6 months.
This study aims to adapt an outpatient mobile app-based contingency management intervention to the hospital setting to understand how we can use contingency management to improve health outcomes in hospitalized patients with stimulant use disorders.
The knowledge gap on sedentary behavior and sedentary breaks includes whether detrimental effects of sedentary behavior can be fully attenuated by 1.) sedentary breaks 2.) physical activity or 3.) both combined. Specifically, when breaking sedentary time which physical activity pattern- and intensity modifies the negative effects of sedentary behavior on glucose- and lipid metabolism? This lack of quantitative evidence calls for prospective experimental studies investigating the physiological and biological impacts of sedentary behavior, as well as the effectiveness of different strategies to reduce sedentary time. Thus, quantifying effects of the intensity, frequency, volume and investigating the patterns of sedentary breaks and/or physical activity on predefined outcomes is of importance. Aims: Our primary aims are to investigate the effects of breaking up sedentary time on glucose- and lipid metabolism and thus examine whether pattern for sedentary bouts and breaks and physical activity intensity during sedentary breaks matter. Specifically, the aims of the PhD-project are to provide knowledge on the following questions: • How does different patterns of accumulation of sedentary bouts and breaks acutely influence glucose- and lipid metabolism under iso-caloric conditions?
The goal of this clinical trial is to compare the efficacy and safety of Topiramate, Amitriptyline Monotherapy and Combination Therapy in Migraine Prophylaxis in outddor migraine patients attending headache clinic. The main question it aims to answer is whether there is any difference between the efficacy of Topiramate, Amitriptyline monotherapy and combination therapy in migraine prophylaxis. Participants will take Topiramate, Amitriptyline Monotherapy and Combination Therapy and maintain a headache diary. Researchers will compare Topiramate, Amitriptyline Monotherapy and Combination Therapy groups to see if there is any differences in efficacy and safety.
This study aims to test if making changes to diet can affect the pelvic pain associated with endometriosis. One group will follow a Mediterranean diet for 12 weeks while the control group will continue with their current diet. We will be looking at the feasibility of a larger-scale trial as well as self-reported quality of life and self-reported pain using standardized questionnaires, that have previously been used and validated, and assessing how this diet affects biomarkers associated with endometriosis and inflammation. Further, we will test how this change in diet affects the gut microbe flora.
The study aims to evaluate the possible effects of an exercise program, nutritional and psychological, postural orientation and guidance of oral health on body composition, physical activity levels and lifestyle, physical fitness and health and motor performance, the factors risk of cardiovascular disease, eating habits, the cognition levels, the psychological profile, the body posture of children and adolescent with overweight and obesity, considering the presence of risk genotype associated with the development of obesity. In addition, identify the effects of orientation for oral health on the quality of life and healthy oral habits.
