Lenvatinib is an oral multi-target receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) inhibitor that mainly inhibits the Endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR) VEGFR-1,2,3; Fibroblast growth factor receptor, FGFR) FGFR-1,2,3,4; Platelet-derived growth factor receptor (PDGFR) PDGFRα; The kinases RET and KIT, thereby inhibiting tumor cell proliferation, inducing apoptosis, and playing an anti-angiogenic role, have been approved by the FDA and CFDA as first-line treatment for patients with advanced liver cancer. lenvatinib showed longer disease progression than sorafenib (8.9 months vs. sorafenib. 3.7 months), longer progression-free survival (7.4 months vs. 3.7 months), and higher disease control rates (24.1% vs. 9.2%). Therefore, lenvatinib has obvious advantages in HCC treatment because of its strong anti-angiogenic and anti-tumor growth effects. Cindilimab is a human immunoglobulin G4 (IgG4) monoclonal antibody that specifically binds to PD-1 molecules on the surface of T cells, thereby blocking the programmed death receptor-1 (PD-1)/programmed death receptor-1 ligand (PD-L1) pathway induced by tumor immune tolerance, and reactivating the antitumor activity of lymphocytes. In summary, recurrence after radical treatment of liver cancer is an urgent clinical problem. Recurrent HCC treatment represented by resection, ablation and TACE is difficult to achieve more satisfactory efficacy. As a local treatment for liver cancer, RFA has the risk of incomplete ablation and insufficient ablation margin, and because RFA cannot resolve micrometastases, tumor growth, invasion and metastasis occur. Therefore, RFA combined with lenvatinib and immune checkpoint inhibitors have theoretical complementary advantages, and this study intends to compare the clinical efficacy and safety of radical resection/ablation RFA combined with lenvatinib + sindilimab in the treatment of patients with early recurrent liver cancer compared with RFA alone.
The purpose of the study is to identify the presence of residual superficial and nodular basal cell carcinoma (BCC) status-post curettage and desiccation (C&D) by using optical coherence tomography (OCT).
The purpose of this study is to determine if this specific Mycobiome Supporting Diet (MSD diet) can help reduce gut inflammation during post-transplant period. The MSD is an special diet which will be explained in detail by a dietician that works by supporting the body's good gut bacteria and fungi.
Background: Prostate cancer does not trigger a strong immune response in the body. Hormone therapy, to reduce levels of testosterone in the body, can be helpful to treat some prostate cancers. However, castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) keeps growing even when the testosterone is reduced to a very low level. Men with metastatic CRPC survive an average of only 3 years. More effective treatments are needed. Objective: To test whether an immunotherapy drug (N-803), alone or in combination with other drugs, can help treat CRPC. Eligibility: Males aged 18 or older with CRPC. Prior treatment with testosterone-lowering therapy is required. Design: Participants will be screened. They will have blood and urine tests. They will have a CT scan of the chest, abdomen, and pelvis. They will continue to receive hormone therapy for prostate cancer. Participants will come to the NIH clinic once a week for the first 4 weeks. Then they will come once every 2 weeks. Visits will last up to 8 hours. The study will continue up to 3 years. All participants will receive N-803 once every 2 weeks. The drug is injected just under the skin with a small needle. Some participants will receive N-803 plus another drug (brachyury vaccine). This drug is also injected under the skin with a small needle. Some participants will receive N-803 plus a different drug (bintrafusp alfa) once every 2 weeks. This drug is given through a tube attached to a needle placed in a vein in the arm. Some participants may receive all 3 drugs. Participants will have imaging scans every 12 weeks.
This trial will evaluate the impact of an integrated intervention of daily maternal calcium, aspirin, and multiple micronutrients (CAMMS) compared to iron-folic acid (IFA) during pregnancy on preterm birth and other adverse birth outcomes. Both interventions will be delivered through existing antenatal service platforms using context-specific strategies informed by formative research incorporating human-centered design processes to achieve high acceptability and high adherence, in three low-income countries with diverse contexts: Burkina Faso, Pakistan, and Zimbabwe.
The subject of the study is an online survey of doctors and nurses who provide (intensive) medical care to patients.
The purpose of this phase III study is to evaluate the efficacy, safety and tolerability of UB-421 monotherapy in suppressing viral rebound in HIV-1 infected adults undergoing antiretroviral treatment interruption.
This study evaluates the addition of polidocanol endovenous microfoam (PEM) to compression therapy to determine effectiveness in improving the healing of venous leg ulcers (VLUs) in adults with severe venous disease of the great saphenous vein (GSV). All participants will receive treatment with Varithena and compression therapy. The purpose of this study is to assess whether the use of PEM to correct superficial axial and varicose vein reflux is effective in improving healing of VLUs, over treatment with compression alone.
The purpose of this study is to determine whether low level laser therapy (LLLT) using the Erchonia LunulaLaser device is effective in clearing toenails with onychomycosis.
This study will assess the relative bioavailability of s.c. infused ND0612 versus jejunally infused CLES in patients with advanced PD.
