The goal of this infrastructure protocol is to build and maintain a large and diverse observational cohort study to support broad and cutting-edge research focused on NHL prognosis and survivorship. The LEO cohort will promote identification of clinical (including co-morbid diseases), epidemiologic (including lifestyle and other exposures), host genetic, tumor, and treatment factors that impact multiple outcomes (including event-free, overall and lymphoma-specific survival; new onset comorbidities; and patient-reported outcomes). This resource also will allow examination of the interaction among these factors in order to better understand the clinical and molecular epidemiology of outcomes in NHL. Ultimately, this approach will drive discovery and validation of treatment endpoints, improve prognostication, and identify novel approaches to improve short and long-term outcomes for NHL patients.
Long-term follow-up of subjects who received ST-920 in a previous trial (ST-920-201) and completed at least 52 weeks post-infusion follow-up in their primary protocol. Enrolled subjects will be followed for a total of up to 5 years following ST-920 infusion.
The investigators are conducting a randomized clinical trial, having as a primary objective, to compare vascular access time between distal and proximal radial approach. Secondary objectives include comparing incidence of distal and proximal radial artery occlusion, at 24 hrs and 30 days. As a tertiary objective investigators will compare the preference of the patients for each access in subsecuent interventional procedures.
This observational study was designed as a prospective epidemiological screening study. Patients who have applied to the centers participating in the study and who have previously been clinically or pathologically diagnosed with PAP (Pulmonary alveolar proteinosis) will be included in the study. Up-to-date data will be collected from patients who have agreed to participate in the study, and a blood sample with DBS will be taken from patients. The blood taken will be subjected to analysis for ADA metabolites. For patients with a high metabolic test, the responsible researcher will advise on clarifying the diagnosis with a genetic test other than the study. In case of formation of new information for each patient, consultation will be provided by the responsible researcher. Thus, the prevalence of ADA enzyme deficiency disease will be evaluated in patients diagnosed with PAP.
The objective of this retrospective study is an investigational clinical follow-up, of patients treated with interbody fusion devices (IBFD), both expandable (EXP) and static (STC), according to their intended use and cleared labeling to understand IBFD design and technique characteristics that affect occurrence rates of subsidence. Patients treated with IBFD's (both EXP and STC) according to their intended use and cleared labeling 1. EXP IBFD's that expand in width and height demonstrate reduced occurrence of subsidence post-operatively when compared to EXP IBFD's that expand in height only and STC IBFD's. 2. EXP IBFD's that are comprised of multi-material composition with Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) endplate contacting surfaces demonstrate reduced occurrence of subsidence on post-operative radiographs when compared to EXP and STC IBFD's that are primarily comprised of Ti with Ti endplate contacting surfaces. 3. achieve radiographic fusion at a rate consistent with the state-of-the-art 4. achieve significant improvements in pain and function compared to baseline 5. experience adverse events at a frequency comparable to reported rates for TLIF or PLIF surgery 6. not demonstrate any intraoperative complications during the implant process 7. operative approach does not correlate with increased rates of subsidence
The objective of this retrospective and prospective consecutive series PMCF study is to collect long-term data confirming safety, performance and clinical benefits of the ExploR Radial Head System (implants and instrumentation) when used for radial head arthroplasty.
The investigators have recently developed a new non-invasive brain stimulation (NIBS) system, kilohertz transcranial magnetic perturbation (kTMP) that opens up a new experimental space for safely modulating neural excitability in targeted areas of the human brain. This project will characterize the broad parameter space of kTMP in terms of tolerability and efficacy in healthy individuals. Following earlier feasibility studies, we are now increasing our number of subjects in order to capture preliminary safety and effectiveness information on a near-final device.
Wound complications after total knee arthroplasty (TKA) can arise from many patient-specific factors, such as vascular or immune-related medical conditions, obesity, and smoking, among others. The development of early wound complications can lead to increased length of hospital stay and more serious complications, including deep infection and major subsequent surgery. However, there are modifiable variables that could affect the risk of getting wound complications, such as the closure technique. This study aims to analyze the difference in rates of wound complications using two different closure techniques in primary TKA.
Road running in athletics has grown worldwide in recent years, which has led to an increase in the number of recreational runners. Despite this growth, research addressing this population is scarce, with major limitations and methodological weaknesses. Two of the topics of recent interest in runners are the effects of training intensity distribution (TID) and mental training using mindfulness on running time, body composition and physiological parameters related to performance in endurance sports; the maximal oxygen consumption (VO2max), maximal aerobic speed (MAS) and ventilatory thresholds (VT). The scarce evidence found identifies the TID polarized model as the most effective in sports performance and TID pyramidal model as the most used by elite runners. For mindfulness, it is identified as an emerging program that could contribute to performance in endurance sports.
The study is intended to identify gene polymorphisms significantly associated with specific behavioral- and preoccupation-typologies of sexual addiction, and to identify additional potential genetic markers of sexual addiction. Research subjects with sexual addiction will be identified from the out-patient and in-patient populations of the investigative sites. Research subjects in the Control Group will be identified from the general population and from the student body of selected colleges. Approximately 1100 subjects will be enrolled in the study. Anticipating 10% drop-out, this is intended to generate a population of approximately 500 men and women clinically diagnosed with sexual addiction, and approximately 500 healthy men and women who do not meet diagnostic criteria for sexual addiction nor have psychopathology who will serve as the control population.
