Durvalumab for MSI-H or POLE Mutated Metastatic Colorectal Cancer

The POLE mutations represent high somatic mutation loads in patients with colorectal cancer, especially in those with MMR proficient or MSS, therefore, tumors harbouring POLE mutations might be susceptible to immune checkpoint blockade. Based on these reasons, the investigators planned a phase II study of durvalumab monotherapy in patients with previously treated, metastatic, MMR deficient (MSI-H) or POLE mutated colorectal cancer.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of chemotherapeutic pancreatic cyst ablation using ethanol lavage followed by the infusion of a dual-agent chemotherapeutic cocktail (paclitaxel + gemcitabine) compared with alcohol-free saline lavage followed by infusion of the same dual-agent chemotherapeutic cocktail (paclitaxel + gemcitabine) for the ablation of pancreatic cystic neoplasms using endoscopic ultrasound guided fine needle infusion (EUS-FNI) for agent delivery.

The UNSCARRed Study: UNresctable Squamous Cell Carcinoma Treated With Avelumab and Radical Radiotherapy

The purpose of this study is to find out what effects the combination of radiation therapy and Avelumab have on you and your cancer. The effectiveness of this treatment as well as what side effects occur will both be studied. Squamous cell carcinoma of the skin is the most commonly diagnosed cancer. Risk factors for the development of squamous cell cancer include ultraviolet (sun) exposure, as well as increasing age. In the majority of instances, a minor surgical procedure is curative. Less commonly, squamous cell carcinoma cannot be removed surgically, due to the location and/or extent of the cancer, or due to patient-specific factors which would make surgery unsafe (for instance, the presence of unrelated medical illnesses such as heart disease or stroke). When squamous cell carcinoma cannot be removed surgically, radiation therapy may serve as an effective alternative treatment. Squamous cell carcinomas are typically very sensitive to radiation, and in some instances radiation therapy may also cure a person of their cancer. While some people may be cured by radiation therapy, not all people are. This study is investigating the combination of radiation therapy and immune therapy. When given together, more patients may be cured of their cancer. Immune therapy is effective for the treatment of squamous cell carcinoma. In clinical trials, more than half of patients benefit from immune therapy. Immune therapy is not chemotherapy. Instead, immune therapy involves the infusion of antibodies which target a person's own immune system. Immune therapy "re-activates" a person's own immune system against their cancer. The treatment offered within this clinical trial includes daily radiation treatments as well as immunotherapy treatments administered once every two weeks. The immunotherapy in use is a drug called Avelumab, which is an antibody that helps your body's immune system fight cancer. Health Canada, the regulatory body that oversees the use of natural health products, drugs and devices in Canada, has not approved the sale or use of this product to treat this kind of cancer, although they have allowed its use in this study

CPX-351 Plus Enasidenib for Relapsed AML

This trial evaluates how well CPX-351 and enasidenib work in treating patients with acute myeloid leukemia characterized by IHD2 mutation. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as CPX-351, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Enasidenib may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Giving CPX-351 and enasidenib may work better in treating patients with acute myeloid leukemia, compared to giving only one of these therapies alone.

The SNIFF Device study will involve using a device to administer insulin through each participant's nose or intra-nasally. Insulin is a hormone that is produced in the body. It works by lowering levels of glucose (sugar) in the blood. This study is measuring how much insulin the device delivers. In addition, this study will look at the effects of insulin or placebo administered intra-nasally using a nebulizer-like device on memory, blood, and cerebral spinal fluid.

Phase II study investigating the safety, tolerability and effect on disease reccurence of Foxy-5 as neo-adjuvant therapy in resected colon cancer patients treated with FOLFOX chemotherapy regimen. It is a two-arm study and patients will be randomised to receive either standard therapy (surgery + FOLFOX 6 months regimen) or standard therapy + neo-adjuvant administration of Foxy-5 prior to- and following surgery (maximum of 39 administrations) until initiation of FOLFOX therapy.

The ultrasound information will be processed to represent the energy storage in the muscle. The energy storage in the muscle may help future research to look for dietary plans that can help to increase energy storage, patient exercise tolerance, and functional improvement.

We will conduct a small-scale randomized controlled trial (RCT) with 24 adult smokers enrolled in the TTP. Participants will receive either the Free4Good mobile app for positive psychology skills training or a breathing relaxation mobile app control (Breathe2Relax). All participants will be receiving tobacco cessation treatment in the Tobacco Treatment Program at MD Anderson as standard of care.
