The Effects of Integrated Face-to-face Rehabilitation and Telerehabilitation on the Well-being of Family Caregivers

This controlled, non-randomized study (n=180) explores how participating in rehabilitation services for family caregivers affects the caregivers' mood, perceived quality of life, perceived burden of family care, and overall health. Rehabilitation services for family caregivers funded by the Social Insurance Institution of Finland (Kela) include two 5-day periods of face-to-face rehabilitation and a 12-week telerehabilitation period, which is based on The Own Path internet intervention and takes place between the face-to-face rehabilitation periods. The observed changes are compared to participating in two other services: 1) Social Holidays for family caregivers and 2) Kela's rehabilitation services for family caregivers and the family members they are caring for (care recipients).

The study aims at gathering additional data on the safety and effectiveness of using intravenous administration of the drugs Ca-DTPA/Zn-DTPA to remove the heavy metal gadolinium from the bodies of patients who have retained it and developed symptoms of Gadolinium Deposition Disease following an MRI in which a gadolinium-containing contrast agent was utilized. The outcome data will include measures of symptom relief after as many as six paired Calcium-DTPA/Zinc-DTPA chelation treatments. The study also aims at gathering additional data before and after DTPA treatment regarding levels of certain cytokines in the patients' blood that have been reported to be abnormally elevated in patients with retained gadolinium.

This study is designed to test whether QBKPN SSI can improve immune function in older adults, including how well it can protect against respiratory and other infections, whether it improves the body's response to COVID-19 vaccines and what effect it has on maintaining or improving quality of life, activity level and health status. QBKPN is a new medication in a class known as Site-Specific Immunomodulators (SSI). SSIs are designed to train and/or improve innate immune function to reduce the risk of infections, improve immune response to cancer, and slow the progression of chronic inflammatory diseases. It is believed that QBKPN SSI can work with the immune system to help protect against respiratory and other infections.

An open-label study in which participants with non-segmental vitiligo with genital involvement will apply ruxolitinib 1.5% cream twice a day (BID) to all depigmented areas (up to 10% BSA) for up to 48 weeks. Participants should continue to treat depigmented areas identified for treatment at baseline regardless of whether the area begins to improve or fully repigment.

Radiation Therapy With or Without Chemotherapy in Patients With Stage I-IIA Cervical Cancer Who Previously Underwent Surgery

This randomized phase III trial studies radiation therapy with chemotherapy to see how well they work compared to radiation therapy alone in treating patients with stage I-IIA cervical cancer who previously underwent surgery. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to kill tumor cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cisplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. It is not yet known whether giving radiation therapy together with chemotherapy is more effective than radiation therapy alone in treating patients with cervical cancer.
