Azygos vein preservation revisited: impact on early outcomes after repair of Esophageal atresia/ Tracheo-Esophageal Fistula in newborns. A randomized controlled study.
Hypotension is a very common consequence of the sympathetic vasomotor block caused by spinal anesthesia for cesarean section. Maternal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting and dyspnea frequently accompany severe hypotension, and adverse effects on the fetus, including depressed APGAR scores and umbilical acidosis, have been correlated with severity and duration of hypotension. Because hypotension is frequent, vasopressors should be used routinely and preferably prophylactically.
PENFUP FASE 2, It is a multicenter study by parallel conglomerates, planned in order to evaluate the efficacy between two levels of frequency of postural change in intensive care units for adults of hospitals in various regions of Colombia.
The presence of blood clot in stomach limited quality of endoscopic view ,which affect successful rate of hemostatic endoscopy in patient with acute upper gastrointestinal bleeding. The study is aimed to evaluate the efficacy of metoclopramide, as pro-kinetic agent ,for gastric visualization in the patient with acute UGIB; double-blind randomized controlled trial and two centers study. The patient were randomly assigned to receive either metoclopramide (10mg) intravenously or placebo before endoscopy 30-120 min. The primary endpoint was endoscopic yield, assessed by objective gastric visualized scoring systems. Secondary end points include duration of endoscope, technical success rate, the need for second-look EGD, units of blood transfusion, length of hospital stay and 30-day rebleeding rate.
This study is investigating the impact of a boxing training program on people with Parkinson Disease. The investigators were provided data for the intervention group retrospectively by the organizers of the boxing club to assess participants' benefit from participation. The outcome measures were selected to measure different aspects of functional mobility. Of particular interest is the impact of challenging whole-body activities designed for boxing and their impact on turning speed and gait. The second phase of the study will gather control group information from people with Parkinson Disease who have not participated in a boxing program to compare differences in pre-test and post-test data over a period of 12 weeks. The specific population and study design are currently pending global pandemic restrictions. Subject recruitment will involve people who have never had access to a program of this nature. An alternative population for recruitment may involve the same participants from the boxing club in a crossover study format since the boxing club has been suspended for over a year due to health and safety concerns during the pandemic. The control group of either situation would be instructed to carry on with their daily activities as usual without changing their physical activity. We hypothesize that the intervention group would show greater improvements in functional mobility compared to the control group.
The purposes of this study are to: 1. Learn about the safety of CK-3773274 after a single dose and multiple doses in Chinese healthy adult subjects. 2. Learn how healthy subjects tolerate CK-3773274 after a single dose and multiple doses. 3. Find out how much CK-3773274 is in the blood after a single dose and multiple doses. 4. Determine the effect of doses of CK-3773274 on the pumping function of the heart. 5. Evaluate the effect CYP2D6 genetic polymorphisms on how the body metabolizes CK-3773274.
It has been reported that the head protrudes forward relative to the body from the sagittal plane associated with the anterior shifting of the line of gravity (LOG) relative to the base of support (BOS). On the other hand, the center of gravity (COG) has changed with the forward head posture (FHP) and is related to mechanical and musculoskeletal modifications due to postural control, which affects the whole body balance. Griegel-Morris et al. Reported that, after evaluating eighty-eight healthy participants, 66% had a forward head posture (FHP). In addition, he stated that the inverted head posture in the forward head posture will not only cause neck problems, but also can extend to the shoulder joint and thoracic spine. As a result, it causes a general imbalance in the musculoskeletal system. Jung-Ho Kang and his colleagues examined the effect of daily sitting times of computer users on dynamic and static balance and stated that balance ability decreased in heavy computer users. Another study on forward head posture (IBP) revealed that it limits ankle joint movement, especially in ankle plantarflexion.
The global pandemic has recently emerged by transmission of SARS-CoV2 virus. The virus has had a massive impact on health, wealth and social aspects worldwide. Since the identification of this virus in Wuhan, China, millions of cases has been diagnosed worldwide with mortality rates ranging from 3% to 12 %
The purpose of this study is to assess the effect of commercially available genital vibrator use on sexual health, female pelvic floor disorders, and overall quality of life among a diverse population of women.
This study aims to explore the health benefits of air purifier on the impact of air pollutants on children's health.
