NCT ID: NCT05958966 Completed - Cigarette Smoking Clinical Trials

Effects of e-Cigarettes on Perceptions and Behavior - Substudy 2

Start date: April 1, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This project will assess the ways in which e-cigarette product diversity impacts the user experience to inform potential regulations by identifying product characteristics that may: (1) put young adults at risk for tobacco product use; and (2) facilitate adult smokers switching to e-cigarettes. There are three primary objectives to the study: (1) Determine which dimensions of e-cigarette product diversity differentially affect product appeal in the overall population of tobacco product users as well as affect product appeal across young adult e-cigarette users and middle-age/older adult smokers; (2) Determine which dimensions of e-cigarette product diversity differentially affect product appeal in the overall population of tobacco product users as well as affect abuse liability in young adult e-cigarette users and the ability to resist smoking in adult smokers; (3) Determine the affect of product characteristics on e-cigarette nicotine delivery profile. For this substudy, adult smokers (N=200) will attend two laboratory session in which they will self-administer e-cigarette products varied according to within-subject e-cigarette factors (e.g., flavor, nicotine formulation) and smoke their own cigarettes.

NCT ID: NCT05972304 Completed - Hypoxia Clinical Trials

Efficiency and Safety of Nasal Positive Airway Pressure Systems During Endoscopy

Endo-Breath
Start date: April 1, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Goal of our study is to investigate whether the implication of nasal positive airway pressure (nPAP) system on patients with high periprocedural risk could significantly lower the incidence of severe hypoxia and hypercarbia. Furthermore, we have set up goals to assess key components and factors, which lead to development of hypercarbia during endoscopy.

NCT ID: NCT05993338 Completed - Clinical trials for Pulmonary Hypertension Secondary

Pulmonary Artery Pressure in COVID-19 Survivors

Start date: April 1, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Post COVID-19 pulmonary hypertension can develop as a result of lung parenchymal damage and altered pulmonary circulation induced by COVID-19 infection. It has been proposed that this type of PH should be considered a combination between PH of group 3 (due to interstitial fibrosis and alveolar inflammation) and 4 (induced by thrombotic/thromboembolic processes, endothelial injury, or, at least, hypoxic vasoconstriction). Right heart catheterization (RHC) is the gold standard for assessing pulmonary hemodynamics and is mandatory for confirming the diagnosis of pulmonary hypertension (PH), assessing the severity of hemodynamic impairment, and performing vasoreactivity testing in selected patients

The Impact of Gender on Graft Outcomes Following Living Donor Kidney Transplantation

Start date: April 1, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The impact of donor and recipient gender combination on kidney transplant outcomes has been reported in several studies. The results vary greatly due to different factors, such as minor histocompatibility antigens, nephron overload, sex hormones, etc. Despite advancements in clinical practice, no large-scale studies exploring this question in living donor kidney transplantation have been conducted in the subsequent two decades. Our study aims to address this research gap and provide updated information on outcomes in relation to the gender combination following living donor kidney transplantation.
