Use of Superparamagnetic Iron Oxide (SPIO) in Sentinel Lymph Node Detection for Breast Cancer

Sentinel lymph node biopsy is mandatory during breast cancer operation for disease staging and treatment. The localization of sentinel lymph node is by the injection of radioisotope and blue dye, which is the gold standard. However the use of radioisotope and blue dye are associated with specific drawbacks. Superparamagnetic iron oxide is a magnetic tracer which is FDA-approved for sentinel lymph node localization. The hypothesis of this study is superparamagnetic iron oxide can replace the conventional dual mapping of radioisotope and blue dye in the detection of sentinel lymph nodes for early breast cancers.

Efficacy of Talazoparib in Asian Metastatic Breast Cancer Patients With a Homologous Recombinant Deficiency (HRD) Signature

This is an open label, non randomised, investigator-initiated Phase II study of single agent talazoparib (Talzenna®) in metastatic triple negative breast cancer patients with enriched HRD signature. Approximately 55 subjects will be enrolled in this study to examine the efficacy of talazoparib when given orally 1mg daily for days 1 to 28 for up to 28 months. The study will be conducted using the Simon two-stage phase II design, whereby this study will initially enroll 19 patients with RECIST v1.1 measurable disease with enriched HRD signature (stage I). There will be one interim analysis at the end of stage I and if 3 of the 19 have a response, then no further patient will be accrued. If 4 or more of the 19 patients have a response, then accrual would continue to stage II until a total of 55 patients have been enrolled. This study will be conducted in conformance with Good Clinical Practices. Specific procedures to be performed during the trial, as well as their prescribed times and associated visit windows, are outlined in the Trial Flow Chart.

Assess the quality of life in patients with hormone receptor positive, human epidermal growth factor receptor-type 2 negative metastatic breast cancer treated in first line (patients with new metastasis or recurrence during adjuvant endocrine therapy): comparison between public and private institutions. The hypothesis to be evaluated is that patients treated in private institutions have a better quality of life when compared to patients treated in public institutions.

Phase II Lenvatinib and Pembrolizumab in Endocrine Resistant Breast Cancer With Letrozole

This is a phase II study testing the combination of pembrolizumab with lenvatinib, a multi-kinase inhibitor that has activity against vascular endothelial growth factor receptors 1-3 (VEGFR1-3), fibroblast growth factor receptors 1-4 (FGFR1-4), ret protooncogene (RET), platelet-derived growth factor receptor-alpha (PDGFR-alpha) and KIT (a stem cell factor receptor), and letrozole, a non-steroidal aromatase inhibitor, in advanced hormone receptor (HR) positive human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) negative breast cancer (BC) that has progressed on/after standard endocrine therapy.

Classified Treatment Strategy for De-novo Metastatic Breast Cancer After Systemic Adjuvant Therapy

For patients with de novo stage IV breast cancer, the current debate is whether local surgery can improve the survival of patients. There is no clinical study on the classification after systemic treatment of de novo stage IV breast cancer patients. In fact, the clinical stage of tumor can change with the change of treatment. For example, the stage Ⅲ of locally advanced breast cancer can down-staging to the stage Ⅱ after systemic treatment. Similarly, patients with stage Ⅳ can down-staging to stage Ⅱ or stage Ⅲ after systemic treatment. At this time, the patient can receive surgical treatment. Therefore, this study is to first treat de novo stage IV breast cancer patients with systemic treatment, according to the response after systemic treatment to give different treatment measures(surgery or continued systemic treatment). The investigators hope that this study will provide new ideas for the treatment of de novo stage IV breast cancer and other de novo stage IV cancers.

Effect of the App Bone@BC Version 4.0 Under the Follow-up for Patients With Early Breast Cancer

Background Worldwide, an increasing number of people are affected by cancer. Breast Cancer is one of the most common cancers worldwide. Patients with early non-metastatic breast cancer are a growing group of survivors. The reason for this is that there has been an opportunity for early diagnosis, as well as improved treatment options. Patients with early breast cancer often experience endocrine side-effects such as loss of bone, increased weight, high levels of adipokine, lipids resistance, and hypertension after chemotherapy and anti-estrogen treatment resulting in reduced Health-Related Quality of Life. Aim The aim is to investigate whether a Bone@BC app version 4.0 compared to usual care alone improves self-efficacy and provides at least as good HRQoL. Methods A Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) to decide whether the use of ePROs combined with usual care alone during follow-up for postmenopausal patients with early non-metastatic breast cancer in aromatase inhibitors with endocrine side-effects can maintain Health-Related Quality of Life, improve patient empowerment and self-efficacy compared to usual care alone.

ZetaFuse™ Bone Graft in the Repair of Bone Defects From Metastatic Breast Cancer in the Spinal Vertebral Body

The ZetaFuse™ Bone Graft is indicated for patients with destructive, lytic lesions due to metastatic breast cancer to bone, with or without involvement of other sites, with at least one metastatic lesion located in a vertebral body of the spine, and a Spinal Instability Neoplastic Score (SINS) ≥3 and ≤9. The ZetaFuse™ Bone Graft is percutaneously implanted into the bone defect created by the metastatic tumor in a spinal vertebral body. The ZetaFuse™ Bone Graft is only for implantation into the vertebral body.
