View clinical trials related to Atrial Fibrillation.
Filter by:The main aim of the research is to investigate whether patients undergoing pulmonary vein isolation with cryoablation for atrial fibrillation (AF) will have lower rates of AF recurrence than those treated by DC cardioversion without an ablation procedure. The objectives of the Pilot Study are to validate the key study logistics with a view to optimising methods to be used in the main study.
Primary Aim: To determine if apixaban is superior to aspirin for prevention of the composite outcome of any stroke (hemorrhagic or ischemic) or death from any cause in patients with recent ICH and atrial fibrillation (AF). Secondary Aim: To determine if apixaban, compared with aspirin, results in better functional outcomes as measured by the modified Rankin Scale.
This is a randomized, double-blind, dose-finding, placebo-controlled, parallel group, multicenter, phase II study to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and popPK of three different doses of OMT-28 given once daily versus placebo in patients with persistent AF.
This clinical study is a prospective, multicenter, post-market, single-arm, observational study designed to characterize the usage of the Lesion Index (LSI) with the market-released TactiCath Contact Force Ablation Catheter, Sensor Enabled (TactiCath SE) in subjects with Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation (PAF) in a real-word environment.
Atrial fibrillation in the postoperative period of myocardial revascularization surgery (AF-POMR) occurs in 10% to 65% of patients, increasing morbidity and mortality after surgery. is associated with an increase in hospital length of stay, and, thus, in costs, and can cause serious clinical complications, such as hypotension, heart failure, stroke and other thromboembolic disorders.Although not completely understood, the electrophysiological mechanism of AF-POMR is believed to be reentry.
Obesity paradox In patient with non valvular atrial fibrillation
The proposed study will investigate the clinical use of the ISCDX test that may differentiate between diverse stroke etiologies as listed below: Aim 1: Differentiate between cardioembolic and large artery atherosclerotic ischemic strokes, when hemorrhagic stroke is ruled out, as defined by TOAST classification of subtypes of acute ischemic stroke. Aim 2: In cases of ischemic strokes of unknown or "cryptogenic" etiology, determine the ability of biomarker blood tests to predict etiology between cardioembolic and large artery atherosclerotic.
Study objective is to determine whether there is an association between genetic variant risk scores and clinical outcomes (percent time in therapeutic range, time to reach therapeutic international normalized ratio (INR), INR ≥ 4, bleeding event, ischemic stroke, death) in participants taking warfarin for atrial fibrillation, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), pulmonary embolism (PE), and/or intracardiac thrombosis.
A prospective cohort study to determine whether a high body weight (BMI equal to or greater than 35 kg / m 2) has an effect on anticoagulant Apixaban level in the blood of patients with atrial fibrillation.
This study will assess the safety and performance of the Vine™ Embolic Protection System (embolic filtering device) in atrial fibrillation (AF) patients on top of oral anticoagulants (OAC), and remain at high risk for stroke recurrence. All patients will receive bilateral implants in the common carotid arteries
