Factorial Optimization Trial to Test Effects of Coping Intervention Components

This study will identify components for inclusion in a coping intervention package to reduce mental health problems among children exposed to high interparental conflict after parental separation/divorce. Reappraisal, distraction, and relaxation coping strategies are related to fewer mental health problems among children, making intervention components based on these strategies key candidates for inclusion in an optimized coping intervention. The primary aim is to experimentally assess the main and interactive effects of three digital intervention coping components (reappraisal, distraction, relaxation) on children's coping efficacy, emotional security, and internalizing and externalizing problems. Secondary aims are to assess indirect effects of the intervention components on children's coping efficacy, emotional security, and internalizing and externalizing problems through their cognitive, emotional, and behavioral reactions to post-separation/divorce interparental conflict events.

The goal of this clinical trial is to test whether inclusion of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for Uncertainty-Enhanced (CUE) with Lethal Means Counseling (LMC) is acceptable, feasible, and efficacious in addressing secure firearm storage and associated psychological constructs in active duty servicemembers. The clinical trial aims to: - Assess the preliminary efficacy of a LMC intervention, augmented with CUE, on firearm storage practices - Examine mechanisms through which CUE and LMC increase firearm storage practices - Assess credibility and acceptability of LMC Participants will complete: - One baseline visit - Two intervention sessions-CUE and LMC - Six brief surveys per day for 28 days using a mobile application - One mid-point survey and five follow-up surveys

The Self-Compassion for Children and Caregivers Study aims to understand if an online course designed to help kids and their caregivers learn self-compassion is feasible, enjoyable, and helpful for well-being and relationships in families from diverse backgrounds. Children ages 8-11 who have a caregiver willing to participate with them will: - Attend 2 in-person study visits (about 1-1.5 hour each) that includes - A survey for caregiver and child - A brief computer puzzle challengetask while heart rate and sweat is recorded (child) - A brief discussion about how the challenge went - Participate in a 6-session, online self-compassion course with other families (see back) - Provide feedback about how the course went

Perioperatively, patients experience an unnecessarily high level of side effects associated with their treatment. These side effects include nausea, severe pain, anxiety, and stress. Moreover, many patients develop postoperative delirium (POD) and neurocognitive dysfunctions, often resulting in long-term cognitive impairment, decreased quality of life, and increased mortality. Cognitive Impairment and Affective Mood Disorders in Patients With IBD

Treatment of Stress and Anxiety in MCI/Mild ADRD

The goal of this clinical trial is to test the effectiveness of a computerized anxiety sensitivity treatment (CAST) compared to a health education control (HEC) in older adults with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or mild Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias (ADRD) and their care partners. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. Efficacy of CAST in reducing anxiety and related symptoms among those with MCI/mild ADRD 2. Efficacy of CAST in reducing care partner burden among care partners of people living with MCI/mild ADRD 3. Explore treatment mechanisms using a multi-modal assessment battery of anxiety sensitivity and anxiety Participants will complete six in-person visits including a baseline assessment, two intervention sessions, and three follow-up assessments at 1, 3, and 6-months posttreatment. Participants will also complete three weeks of ecological momentary assessments (EMAs) for one week prior to intervention, one week between intervention sessions, and one week after intervention. If there is a comparison group: Researchers will compare CAST to HEC to see if CAST reduces anxiety and related symptoms in older adults with MCI/mild ADRD and care partner burden to a greater degree than HEC.
