NCT ID: NCT03667677 Not yet recruiting - Hypertension Clinical Trials

Comparison of Tandospirone, Amlodipine and Their Combination in Adults With Hypertension and Anxiety

Start date: February 1, 2019
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

This study compares the antihypertensive effects between different treatment groups including antihypertensive drug, anxiolytic, and both, which provide a new clinical evidence for controlling blood pressure in patients with hypertension and anxiety.

NCT ID: NCT03665662 Completed - Anxiety Clinical Trials

Effect of Intra-procedure Music on Anxiety

Start date: October 8, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of intra-procedure music intervention on procedural anxiety, physiological stress and sedation requirements in patients undergoing moderate sedation procedures. Study participants will be randomly assigned into two groups: 1. Control - standard care without music intervention. 2. Intervention - standard of care plus music intervention. The State-Trait Anxiety Inventory questionnaire will be provided pre, intra and post procedure to all subjects in addition to an exit survey.

NCT ID: NCT03664310 Completed - Anxiety Disorders Clinical Trials

Transdiagnostic Sleep and Anxiety Treatment

Start date: August 1, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Background: Anxiety and insomnia disorders are two of the most common and costly mental health conditions. These disorders are frequently comorbid, but current treatment approaches do not target both. To streamline treatment for these commonly comorbid conditions, a novel, computerized intervention was developed targeting a transdiagnostic factor, safety aids, which are cognitive or behavioral strategies individuals use to cope with distress associated with anxiety or insomnia, that paradoxically exacerbate symptoms. A randomized controlled trial was conducted to determine the acceptability and efficacy of this newly developed intervention. Method: Young adults (N = 61) with elevated anxiety and insomnia symptoms were randomized to receive the anxiety-insomnia intervention or a computerized control condition focused on general physical health behaviors. After the intervention, participants were followed up at one week and one month and completed self-report measures.

NCT ID: NCT03662607 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Preprocedure Anxiety

Impact of Virtual Reality on Pre-procedural anxieTy Prior to Heart cathEterIzAtion - VR-THEIA

VR-THEIA
Start date: April 18, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The primary aim of this study is to test the hypothesis that use of VR combined with standard procedural education will result in less pre-procedural anxiety than standard procedural education alone among patients undergoing first-time cardiac catheterization. The VR technology being evaluated in this study will allow patients to experience a 3-D simulation of certain aspects of their upcoming procedure prior to the actual procedure date.

NCT ID: NCT03651310 Completed - Clinical trials for Preoperative Anxiety

Music Listening on Preoperative Anxiety in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery

Start date: May 29, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Can music listening decrease a patient's anxiety before surgery? The investigators hypothesize that music listening will decrease a patient's pre-operative anxiety significantly more than no music listening. The investigators aim to see if additional variables affect a patient's anxiety and response to music listening, such as demographic factors (age, race, prior surgical experience, type of surgery planned) and music background (experience playing a musical instrument, music listening habits). The investigators also aim to see if pre-operative music listening is associated with improved patient satisfaction.

NCT ID: NCT03650465 Completed - Clinical trials for Generalized Anxiety Disorder

Comparing Different CBT Approaches in GAD

CBTforGAD
Start date: May 16, 2009
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Cognitive-behavior therapy (CBT) is considered the "golden standard" psychotherapy for generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). However, it entails different approaches and blanket statements remain hard to formulate. We conducted a randomized controlled trial to compare the most studied CBT protocol for GAD - Borkovec's treatment package - with two other forms : Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

NCT ID: NCT03645811 Completed - Anxiety Clinical Trials

Integrative Medicine on Exam Anxiety

Start date: January 1, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Introduction: Test anxiety, one of the forms of situational anxiety, is a crucial biopsychological factor negatively affecting the wellbeing and academic performance of students throughout their education. The study aims to determine the effects of music therapy and EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) on situational anxiety and vital signs in nursing students before they take the OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Exam). The study was a randomized controlled experimental study and conducted with 90 volunteering students studying at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing at a university in Istanbul. A computer-based random number generator was used to randomly assign the students into three groups (Music, EFT, and control), each of which consisted of 30 students. Data collection was carried out using a Student Identification Form, the Situational Anxiety Scale, and the Vital Signs Form.

NCT ID: NCT03643848 Completed - Anxiety Clinical Trials

Sleep and Emotional Memory in Peripubertal Anxiety

Start date: June 1, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The current study aims to deepen understanding of the symptom dimension of negative overgeneralization in anxiety. Specifically, the study examines the malleability of memory processes that are known to occur during sleep that may underlie negative overgeneralization.

NCT ID: NCT03642015 Completed - Anxiety Clinical Trials

The Effect of Music on Anxiety in Patients Prior to Gastrointestinal Procedures

Start date: July 1, 2008
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study investigated the effect of listening to self-selected music on anxiety and physiological responses in patients prior to gastroscopy. A randomized controlled trial was conducted, in which patients scheduled for gastroscopy in a medical center located in Taipei, Taiwan, were enrolled. The experimental group listened to self-selected music with earphones for 15 min before the procedure, whereas the control group rested for 15 min. Blood pressure (BP), heart rate, respiratory rate, and anxiety level were measured immediately before and after the intervention.

NCT ID: NCT03636022 Completed - Anxiety Clinical Trials

Virtual Reality System for Anxiety and OCD

Start date: November 1, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with fear provoking exposures is the most effective therapy for anxiety disorders. The investigators aim to enhance this therapy with the use of virtual reality exposures. The human subjects study will test the effects of using VR for exposures compared to traditional imaginal exposures on anxiety symptom improvement, functioning, child engagement in an response to exposures, completion of exposure homework between treatment sessions, and length of treatment in weeks and length of treatment among children with anxiety disorders and/or obsessive compulsive disorder. The funding award supports the development of the technology and the human subjects study. The subcontract to Mayo supports expert input to identify clinically relevant content for therapeutic videos on the VR system and the human subjects study to test the VR system.
