Filter by:This study was designed to investigate the effects of botulinum toxin type A injections diluted with the mixture of sodium bicarbonate (SB) and normal saline (NS) on pain reduction, onset of action and duration of action. This is a prospective, randomized, double-blind clinical study, which included 30 female patients (age>25). The patients were randomized to receive botulinum toxin (BT) injections diluted with NS and SB on one side of the face and saline control injections on the other side. Pain severity was assessed using visual analogue scale. The onset and duration of action were recorded according to the patients' subjective opinions after 1 week and 3 months, respectively. The study was approved with an IRB (Institutional Review Board) number of RC19/371.
A Phase I Study of KB301, a Replication-Incompetent, Non-Integrating Vector Expressing Human Type III Collagen (COL3) for the Treatment of Superficial Skin Depressions
This study will evaluate the clinical safety and the performance of the BTL-785F system equipped with BTL-785-2 applicator for non-invasive treatment of facial wrinkles.
Researchers are studying how vein mapping impacts patient outcomes and satisfaction after facial injection procedures.
This is a multi-center, single arm, evaluator-blind prospective study of up to 55 study subjects who are seeking a procedure to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and rhytides.
Subjects with grades ranging from 1---3 on the Transverse Neck Line Scale, will be randomized to receive up to 1cc of Restylane Refyne on one side of their neck utilizing a cannula and up to 1cc of Restylane Refyne on the other side utilizing a 30--gauge needle. On Day 30, this treatment with the same left---right assignment can be repeated if optimal correction on either side has not been achieved according to the treating investigator. Subjects will return 24--48 hours after their first treatment, to fill out questionnaires, take pictures, and to be assessed by blinded evaluators regarding adverse events. Subjects will also return 30 days after their final treatment to fill out final questionnaires, take pictures, and to be assessed by blinded evaluators regarding improvement of static rhytides.
This is a prospective, open label, multi-center, self-controlled clinical study to demonstrate the safety and efficacy of SofWave treatment to lift lax tissue in the submental and neck zones and to lift the eyebrow.
Skin aging is an irreversible, slow and progressive process. It is influenced mainly by age, but also by external factors such as ultraviolet radiation, smoking, alcohol, among others. It is increasingly common to look for procedures that slow this process by limiting or hiding its effects on the skin and its appearance. Intradermal platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection is a new modality of treatment which has possible beneficial effects on skin rejuvenation. In addition, studies have shown photobiomodulation (PBM) benefits to the skin. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effects of combined use of intradermal PRP injection on the face and photobiomodulation for facial rejuvenation. To this end, a randomized, double-blind, controlled clinical trial will be conducted with volunteer participants who wish to improve facial aesthetics, attended at the Nove de Julho University specialty medical outpatient clinic in the city of São Paulo. Participants will be divided into three groups: one group will undergo intradermal application of PRP in association with PBM; another group will undergo intradermal application of PRP and placebo light and a third group will receive intradermal application of 0.9% saline solution (placebo) associated with PBM. Only one application of PRP or saline solution will be performed at defined points on the face. PBM sessions will be held immediately after the first application of PRP or saline solution, 3 days after the first application and weekly for the next 3 weeks. The following variables will be studied for further analysis: face moldings analyzed by optical coherence tomography; skin viscoelasticity; histological study of the dermis; evolutionary comparison of photographic images by plastic surgeons (Wrinkle Assessment Scale) and participants' satisfaction level (FACE-Q). All data will be statistically evaluated according to their distribution.
Platelet-rich fibrin matrix (PRFM) is made from platelets that are extracted from a patient's blood, and many plastic surgeons and dermatologists have used it to fill in wrinkles and lines on the face. Both patients and doctors have observed that it gives extra volume in these areas and improves overall appearance. However, there is no research that shows how PRFM affects skin quality, such as pores, spots, red areas, and texture. The aim of this study is to determine whether PRFM has a role in rejuvenating facial skin.
The Research Question of the present study is the following: in a population of men and women affected by facial and neck wrinkles, will linear hyaluronic acid (Jalucomplex®) significantly decrease the appearance of facial and neck wrinkles, results observed after 12 weeks?
