4-aminopyridine for Skin Wound Healing

Start date: July 2024
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Many patients suffer from chronic non-healing wounds as well as acute wounds. There is a need to develop treatments to accelerate and improve healing of chronic and acute wounds. More research is needed to evaluate the role of 4-aminopyridine (4-AP), a promising new agent with an excellent safety profile, on wound healing. The investigational treatment will be used to evaluate the role of (4-AP) on the treatment of wounds to accelerate wound healing in healthy adults. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the role of 4-AP on the treatment of wounds to accelerate healing. The investigational treatment will be used to test the hypothesis that 4-AP can speed wound healing.

NCT ID: NCT06083740 Completed - Wounds Clinical Trials

A Postmarket Clinical Follow Up Study (PMCF) to Evaluate the Safety and Performance of VERIFORTE/Granudacyn® Med Wound Irrigation Solution.

Start date: November 1, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

In the course of this clinical trial, it was shown that the use of Granudacyn/VERIFORTE med wound irrigation solution in the course of adjuvant therapy supports wound healing through mechanical irrigation and moistening of the wound. No risks have been reported. The benefits of using Granudacyn/VERIFORTE med wound irrigation solution therefore outweigh the potential risks.

NCT ID: NCT05608317 Recruiting - Venous Leg Ulcer Clinical Trials

A Clinical Investigation to Follow the Progress of Exuding Chronic Venous Leg Ulcers Using a Non-Bordered Foam Dressing

Start date: November 8, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trial to follow the progress of wounds in those with chronic venous leg ulcers while using a non-bordered foam dressing. The main objective is to follow the progress of these wounds over time from initial visit to each follow-up visit. Participants will be asked to wear the dressing for up to 6 weeks of treatment or until healed, changed at every one-week interval.

NCT ID: NCT05588583 Recruiting - Diabetic Foot Ulcer Clinical Trials

A Clinical Investigation to Follow the Progress of Exuding Chronic Wounds Using Mepilex® Up as the Primary Dressing.

Start date: October 31, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trial is to follow the progress of wounds in those with venous leg ulcers and diabetic foot ulcers while using an absorbent dressing called Mepilex Up. The main objective is to follow the progress of these wounds over time from initial visit to each follow-up visit. Participants will be asked to wear Mepilex Up dressing for up to 6 weeks of treatment or until healed, changed at every one-week interval.

NCT ID: NCT05134311 Not yet recruiting - Vascular Diseases Clinical Trials

Examining the Use of Three Dimensional Ultrasound in the Assessment of Vascular Pathologies

3D-US
Start date: February 1, 2025
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The ability to have a visual aid to depict areas of vascular disease that are affecting the patient's health can help in patient comprehension of the problem. This comprehension can lead to better understanding of the issue and increase patient compliance to treatment. The hand drawn sketch produced by the ultrasound technologist provides an inadequate visualization of the vascular insufficiency that is causing the patient's symptoms. PIUR imaging has developed PIUR Infinity tUS, a 3D freehand tomographic ultrasound system capable of rapid, safe and accurate reconstructive 3D quantifiable vascular imaging. This system will provide a low cost and reproducible imaging solution that will be an effective educational tool for people with vascular disease.

NCT ID: NCT05047809 Completed - Wounds Clinical Trials

The Effect of "Jinchuang Ointment" (JCO) on the Treatment of Wounds in Patients With Hansen's Disease.

Start date: August 7, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of a Chinese herb complex "Jinchuang ointment" (JCO) on the treatment of chronic nonhealing wounds in patients with Hansen's disease and its mechanism.

NCT ID: NCT04965805 Completed - Wounds Clinical Trials

Cold Plasma Jet kINPen Med Versus Best Practice Wound Dressings

Start date: February 4, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Within the treatment of chronic wounds the main objective is to analyze the wound healing properties with cold plasma (cold plasma jet kINPen® Med) compared to wound phase-adapted best practice wound dressings. Especially, close attention is paid to the development of the different phases of the chronic wounds until healing during the study.

NCT ID: NCT04936204 Recruiting - Wounds Clinical Trials

Clinical Investigation to Evaluate the Safety and Performance of ConnettivinaBio Plus Cream Compared to ConnettivinaBio Cream in the Management of Wounds in Patients at High Risk of Infection

Start date: June 10, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The clinical investigation plan will include a Screening/Baseline visit (V1) in which patients will be screened on the basis of inclusion/exclusion criteria and clinically evaluated. Screened and eligible patients will be randomly assigned in one of the two groups: Group 1 will receive ConnettivinaBio Plus cream whereas Group 2 will receive ConnettivinaBio cream. Lesions will be cleaned and a photo will be acquired with a digital camera. In both groups, the schedule treatment will consist of daily medication changes. Wound Bed Score, clinical signs of localized infection, measurement of the wound area, collection of the swab, according to the Levine's technique, EQ-5D questionnaire to the patient will be assessed on Day 1 (V1, baseline visit), 7 (V2), 14 (V3), 21 (V4) and 28 (V5) post-baseline. Treatments in both groups (ConnettivinaBio Plus or ConnettivinaBio) will be applied for a maximum period of 28 days. The easiness of treatment application will be also recorded at V5.

NCT ID: NCT04753060 Suspended - Wounds Clinical Trials

Hair Cycle Modulation To Promote Human Wound Healing

Start date: July 26, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Chronic wounds represent a huge burden to both patients and the National Health Service (NHS), with over 200,000 sufferers in the UK alone. Based on current conservative estimates the NHS spends £2.3 - £3.1 billion pounds every year treating these patients. This study aims to reduce this shared burden, preliminary data from our research group using animal models has demonstrated variable ability of hair follicles to heal wounds based upon their stage within their growth cycle. This currently proposed study therefore aims to perform a simple novel intervention on patients prior to their elective surgery in an effort to replicate the substantial healing abilities noted in the animal models. Under normal circumstances, a patient's operative site is shaved prior to the surgery for hygiene and visual simplicity. The aim of this study is to wax 50% of the patient's operative site prior to their surgery, the other half will be shaved on the day of surgery as per normal surgical protocol. Based on known data this waxing technique will cycle the hair follicles into their growth phase at the time of surgery. The growth phase of hair follicles corresponds with an increased ability to heal due to recruitment of a patients own stem cells. This study therefore aims to take advantage of the patient's own stem cell population. The 50% waxing and 50% shaving method upon each patients donor site allows us to directly compare the influence of these two methods directly on a patient-by-patient basis.
