Filter by:Modulation of the renin angiotensin system by the chronic hepatitis C virus treatment either by (Daclatasvir and Sofosbuvir), (Daclatasvir and Sofosbuvir plus Ribavirin), or (Ribavirin and Interferon) protocols could give an explanation for the low incidence of COVID-19 among Egyptian population. Adding it may play a role in COVID 19 prophylaxis.
To present the first admission chest computed tomography (CT) findings of patients followed up with a diagnosis of COVID-19, and to compare the two classification systems by evaluating these findings according to the BSTI and RSNA guidelines.
Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an infection caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), which affects multiple organ system particularly the lung and heart. Indeed, SARS CoV-2 has various cardiac manifestations which are associated with higher mortality and morbidity. Cardiac involvement, based on elevated levels of myocardial enzymes, have been described in 20 to 30% of COVID-19 infection. However, the physiopathological mechanisms of myocardial injury remains unclear. Main hypothesis include inflammation and cytokine storm, hypercoagulability and vascular thrombosis, inflammation or stress leading to coronary plaque rupture (type I myocardial infarction), supply-demand mismatch and hypoxemia resulting in myocardial damage (type II myocardial infarction) ... Two patterns can be identified : ischemic or non-ischemic pattern including myocarditis, stress induced cardiomyopathy, thrombo-embolic disease. However, the consequences of myocardial damage after confirmed COVID-19 infection are unknown at medium to long term prognosis. Data are needed to identify myocardial damage and to guide effective therapies and follow-up (use of ACE inhibitor, beta-blockers, steroids...? ) In this study, the investigators proposed to collect multimodal cardiac imaging including MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) and TTE (Transthoracic echocardiogram) in order to identify and characterize cardiac injury as ischemic or non-ischemic pattern, to better assess risk stratification and to guide effective therapies if necessary.
Primary Objective: • To evaluate the safety and tolerability of cAd3-EBO-S and cAd3 Marburg vaccines when administered Intramuscular (IM) at a dose of 1 x 10^11 particle units (PU) to healthy adults. Secondary Objectives: - To evaluate the antibody response to Monovalent Chimpanzee Adenoviral Vectored Filovirus Ebola-S (cAd3-EBO-S) and Monovalent Chimpanzee Adenoviral Vectored Filovirus (Marburg) (cAd3 Marburg) vaccines as assessed by antigen glycoprotein (GP) specific (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) ELISA - To collect sufficient post-vaccination plasma to support further development of filovirus assays
A five-month-old healthy girl who presented with painful herpetic gingivostomatitis and perioral vesicles.
This is an open-label study evaluating the safety and immunogenicity of a booster dose of Ad26.ZEBOV administered to children who were previously vaccinated with Ad26.ZEBOV followed by MVA-BN-Filo 56 days later.
Maraviroc (MVC) is a drug, very well tolerated, it has been seen that MVC has properties of modulating the immune system, exerting an anti-inflammatory effect in different diseases. In COVID-19, very high levels of inflammation occur that cause organs and systems to be damaged. MVC could reduce this inflammation achieving a better prognosis of COVID-19.
To evaluate the antiviral effect of TG-1000 compared with placebo in adult patients with acute uncomplicated influenza virus infection.
This single-arm, open-label small interventional proof-of-concept (POC) study study aims: 1. to assess the clinical outcomes of patients exhibiting viral respiratory infection (VRI) symptoms and seeking primary healthcare (PHC) services at the time of the COVID-19 pandemic, 2. to assess the clinical effectiveness of the Cretan IAMA (CAPeo), a herbal extract combination, for these patients, including in terms of symptom resolution (symptom frequency, duration) and intensity), and 3. to investigate its prophylactic effect in terms of transmission prevention for people cohabiting with the patients exhibiting VRI symptoms.
This is a Phase 2 study to evaluate posoleucel (ALVR105, formerly Viralym-M); an allogeneic, off-the-shelf multi-virus specific T cell therapy that targets six viral pathogens: BK virus, cytomegalovirus, adenovirus, Epstein-Barr virus, human herpesvirus 6 and JC virus.
