Virtual Reality in the Management of Pain in Pediatrics: a Multi-center Randomized Clinical Trial (RealPED)

The goal of this clinical trial is to test if the use of virtual reality glasses reduces the pain and anxiety that children feel when they perform a blood test. Children between 7 and 12 years old from 5 health centers and 2 hospitals will participate, and the children will be divided into two groups. In the control group, the analysis will be done in the usual way (for example, distracting with questions) and in the intervention group, the analysis will be done while the children use virtual reality. The satisfaction of parents and nursing will also be analyzed.

An Evaluation of Virtual Reality and Traditional Training in Basic Life Support Training

HI; The "Basic Life Support Knowledge Assessment Form" score average of the students in the intervention group participating in the VR will be higher than the control group. 2. H1; The Basic Life Support Application Evaluation Form score average of the students in the intervention group participating in the VR will be higher than the control group. A. For the classical BLS training group; Traditional BLS VR Training will be held in the classroom environment for 45 minutes in the form of a lecture, the training session will be terminated after watching the video and answering questions. B.For VR BLS training group; After the introduction of VR in the VR hall, after the explanation of the basic concepts of BLS and the completion of the training through VR BLS scenarios, question-answer will be made and the session will be closed. Virtual Reality During Colonoscopy

This project will use a randomized controlled trial to test the effect of using Virtual Reality on pain, anxiety, patients' comfort, and satisfaction during colonoscopy. Patients will use a virtual reality head-mounted display and choose a visualized VR content to watch during colonoscopy. Colonoscopy will be initiated without standard sedatives and narcotics and using virtual reality distraction for as long as the patient would like (for a maximum of 20 minutes). Participants could opt out and/or request standard medications for pain at any time before or during the procedure.

Biofeedback-VR for Treatment of Chronic Migraine

Migraine is a common, debilitating neurologic condition affecting more than 900 million individuals worldwide. Established treatments for migraine include medications, vitamin and herbal supplements, neuromodulation, and behavioral treatment strategies. This study aims to determine whether a novel, home-based behavioral approach, combined biofeedback-virtual reality therapy, can improve self-reported migraine-related outcomes in individuals living with chronic migraine. In this randomized, controlled pilot study, 50 adults with chronic migraine are randomized to the experimental group (frequent use of a heart rate variability biofeedback-virtual reality device plus standard medical care; n=25) or wait-list control group (standard medical care alone; n=25). The primary outcome is reduction in mean monthly headache days between groups at 12 weeks. Secondary outcomes include mean change in acute analgesic use frequency, depression, migraine-related disability, stress, insomnia, and catastrophizing between groups at 12 weeks. Tertiary outcomes include change in heart rate variability and device-related user experience measures.

Effect of Intraoperative Virtual Reality on Anxiety and Vital Findings in Patients Total Knee Replacement Surgery

Although total knee replacement surgery improves the quality of life of the patients, a significant reduction in knee pain and normalization of the knee joint, the awareness of the surrounding events is a major concern for the patients and negatively affects their vital signs, since most of the patients are awake during the surgery. When the literature is examined, there are no pharmacological methods to reduce anxiety. When distraction techniques are used, patients' anxiety levels are significantly reduced, vital signs are normalized, patient satisfaction is increased and pain is relieved. It has been emphasized that there is a successful method in reducing One of the distraction techniques is the application of virtual reality. This study will be carried out in a randomized controlled experimental design to determine the effect of virtual reality application during surgery on patients who will undergo total knee replacement surgery, on the anxiety level and vital signs of the patients.

The Effects of Non-Immersive Virtual Reality Exercises on Muscle Excitability in Knee Osteoarthritis

The main goal of this sham-controlled clinical trial is to learn the excitability levels of the muscles around the knee and balance using objective measurement methods in patients with knee osteoarthritis of non-immersive virtual reality application. The secondary aims of the study are to investigate in which direction the proprioception, physical function level, independence level in activities of daily living, muscle endurance around the knee and patient satisfaction change with non-immersive virtual reality application in patients with knee osteoarthritis. In this study, main questions are to answer: 1. Are non-immersive virtual reality-based knee exercises effective on muscle excitability around the knee and balance in patients with knee osteoarthritis? 2. Are non-immersive virtual reality-based knee exercises effective in improving the level of physical function in patients with knee osteoarthritis? The data collection part of this study will be carried out on volunteers, male and female, who have been diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis by a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation specialist at Erzurum Atatürk University Training and Research Hospital. After informing the participants about the study, the consent form will be signed. Participants will be patients receiving routine outpatient physical therapy. The study was planned as a randomized controlled trial with a sham-control group. The study group will receive non-immersive virtual reality in addition to traditional physiotherapy, and the control group will receive sham virtual reality exercise in addition to traditional physiotherapy.
