NCT ID: NCT05491889 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Outcome of Hepatocellular Carcinoma Patients With Portal Vein Thrombosis After Trans-Arterial Chemo Embolization

Start date: October 1, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the fifth most common neoplasm worldwide and the third most frequent cause of death from cancer in the world. Hepatocellular carcinoma is responsible for significant morbidity and mortality in cirrhosis. Most cases of HCC occur in the setting of cirrhosis and, therefore, prognosis is determined not only by factors related to the tumor but also by factors related to cirrhosis (1). According to previous reports, the incidence of HCC with partial portal vein thrombosis (PVTT) ranges between 44% and 62.2%. HCC associated with PVTT has a poor prognosis. It may lead to intrahepatic metastasis, liver dysfunction, and portal hypertension. The median overall survival for HCC patients with untreated PVTT is only 2.7 months (2). It was suggested that HCC with PVTT should be classified as stage C based on Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer; it is no longer surgically treatable. Compared with conservative treatment, TACE is a safe and effective therapy for such cases. However, this modality for treatment might be associated with mortality (3). As far as we know, there is no studies of short-term survival in patients with HCC and PVT after TACE in our locality. Our study aims to determine frequency of short-term mortality (< 3month) among HCC patients with PPVT after TACE, and to explore its predictors.

NCT ID: NCT05489588 Recruiting - Venous Leg Ulcer Clinical Trials

The GORE® VIAFORT Vascular Stent Iliofemoral Study

Start date: March 2, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study is a prospective, non-randomized, multicenter, single-arm, clinical study to evaluate the performance, safety and efficacy of the GORE® VIAFORT Vascular Stent for treatment of symptomatic iliofemoral venous obstruction.

NCT ID: NCT05476913 Recruiting - Pulmonary Embolism Clinical Trials

GEKO Venous Thromboembolism Prevention Study

Start date: July 6, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This multicentre, randomised geko™ venous thromboembolism (VTE) prevention study will prospectively collect clinical data on VTE occurrences in immobile patients after stroke, who will be randomised, on a 1:1 allocation, to receive either standard of care (Intermittent Pneumatic Compression) or geko™ neuromuscular electrostimulation device. The aim is to assess the prevention of VTE during a follow-up period of 90 days (three months) post-randomisation.

NCT ID: NCT05469282 Completed - Clinical trials for Deep Vein Thrombosis

CEFID-I (CEra Flow Improves DVT-1)

Start date: August 22, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The study is a single center clinical trial to evaluate the efficacy and safety of blood circulation improvement using an investigational medical device, which is a product on the market and it's name is Ceragem Master V6, for the risk group of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) and the ordinary person. The study compares before and after the application by one time application.

NCT ID: NCT05464901 Completed - Clinical trials for Venous Thromboembolism; Deep Vein Thrombosis; Pulmonary Embolism; Anticoagulants

VTE and the Related Factors Associated With Higher Rates of PE After a DVT in Southwestern China

Start date: December 1, 2006
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Little is known about the current management status of venous thromboembolism (VTE) in Southwestern China. We aimed to investigate the status of anticoagulant administration in VTE in Southwestern China and assess the potential predictors of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) complicated pulmonary embolism (PE). We extracted data from YiduCloud database from December 2006 to November 2018 and performed a cross-sectional survey of VTE. The demographics, laboratory tests, and anticoagulants were collected and analyzed in the logistic regression model, classification tree and Random Forest model.

NCT ID: NCT05449808 Recruiting - Pulmonary Embolism Clinical Trials

Evaluation of Thromboprophylaxis Appropriateness in Hospitalized Medical Patients

Start date: November 13, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Considering observational studies that suggested a relationship between acutely ill medical patients and venous thromboembolism (VTE), interventional studies with anticoagulant medications indicated a marked decline in VTE during and after hospitalization. Despite the therapeutic value of lowering this result, there is a low inclination to utilize anticoagulants in patients hospitalized for acute medical diseases. This observational research aims to assess the appropriateness of venous thromboprophylaxis offered to patients admitted to internal medicine wards.

NCT ID: NCT05409976 Recruiting - Venous Leg Ulcer Clinical Trials

The GORE® VIAFORT Vascular Stent IVC Study

Start date: October 25, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study is a prospective, multicenter, non-randomized, single-arm study to evaluate the performance, safety, and efficacy of the GORE® VIAFORT Vascular Stent for treatment of symptomatic inferior vena cava obstruction with or without combined iliofemoral obstruction in adult patients.

NCT ID: NCT05396157 Active, not recruiting - Thrombocytopenia Clinical Trials

Venous Thromboembolism in Hematologic Malignancy and Hematopoietic Cell Transplant Patients: a Retrospective Study

Start date: November 1, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is the second leading cause of death in patients with cancer, after disease progression. VTE is increasingly recognized as a complication in patients with hematologic malignancies and various studies have reported high rates of VTE. Critically ill patients are at high risk of VTE and should all receive thromboprophylaxis. Given the increasing number of patients with HM (hematologic malignancies) / HCT (Hematopoietic cell transplantation) who develop critical illness, and their often prolonged course, it is imperative to understand the incidence and risk factors for VTE, and to evaluate the efficacy and risks associated with both chemical and mechanical thromboprophylaxis Therefore, the investigators plan to evaluate retrospectively the VTE / PE (pulmonary embolism) incidence in HM /HCT patients at the University of Toronto, and the complications associated with it (including death). In addition, the investigators want to evaluate the use, type (mechanical or pharmacological) and timing of thromboprophylaxis. And lastly, the investigators will determine the incidence of bleeding and of complications associated with chemical and mechanical thromboprophylaxis. The investigators will describe the change in VTE incidence over the last 10 years. The investigators know that patients with COVID-19 infection are at higher risk of thrombosis than non-COVID patients. As such, HM/HCT COVID-19 pts will comprise a subgroup, which will be compared with patients who are not not positive for COVID-19. If these numbers are low, COVID-19 status will be included as a predictive variable in our modelling. The results of this research program will help define indications and safety of VTE prophylaxis; and will inform the development of clinical practice guidelines.
