High-power Green-light Laser Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection for Non-muscle-invasive Bladder Cancer

A retrospective study was designed in this study. The surgeon performed high-power green-light laser endoscopic submucosal dissection (HPL-ESD) for the treatment of primary non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC). This surgical treatment was novel and safety and efficacy of the treatment has not been established. We collected relative data in Shandong Provincial Hospital Affiliated to Shandong First Medical University from May 2018 to December 2020. Preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative clinical data were collected and analysed. The safety and efficacy of the novel surgical treatment were verified by the short-term and long-term clinical outcomes. Fifty patients with NMIBC were planed to be enrolled in the study.

3 Ultrasound Guided Plane Blocks for Perioperative Analgesia in Patients Undergoing Radical Cystectomy

Radical cystectomy is the gold standard treatment for muscle invasive bladder cancer as well as some T1 and non-invasive disease. It is a major operation with significant perioperative morbidity and complications. Pain is one of the most important complications to be managed. Regional blocks as a part of multi-modal analgesia are considered main strategies of Enhanced Recovery after Surgery (ERAS) decreasing post-operative complications including post-operative pain and post-operative hospital stay. They also have an upper hand over systemic intravenous opioids decreasing the risk for post-operative delirium specially in old age patients. Thoracic paravertebral plane block (TPVPB), intra muscular quadratus lumborum plane block (QLPB) and erector spinae plane block (ESPB) are among these regional anesthesia techniques for pain management. Erector spinae plane block is an emerging block, with low risk and more feasibility, but efficacy hasn't been compared to quadratus lumborum and paravertebral plane blocks altogether in radical cystectomy surgeries. All these blocks are effective in reducing postoperative pain and the need of analgesia in radical cystectomy surgery; this is a comparative study between the three blocks in this population.

A prospective monocenter diagnostic accuracy study of Confocal Laser Endomicroscopy (CLE) for Bladder Cancer(BC) to assess two primary objectives: 1. The diagnostic accuracy of flexible probe-based confocal laser endomicroscopy (CLE) compared to histopathology of the resection specimen. 2. The diagnostic accuracy of CLE-based assessment of the surgical radicality of the resection bed (radical vs irradical) in comparison with histopathology of a biopsy of the resection bed. All patients with a papillary bladder tumor on cystoscopy will be included in this trial.

RESECT: Improving Quality in TURBT Surgery.

Superficial bladder cancer, known as non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC), is the most common type of bladder cancer. It is expensive to manage and significantly impacts on patients' quality of life. This is because there is a high burden of recurrent disease after initial treatment, and need for long term surveillance for recurrence. The most important step in the diagnosis and treatment of NMIBC is the first surgical procedure called the transurethral resection of bladder tumour (TURBT). There is evidence that the quality of the TURBT operation, and the use of a single administration of bladder chemotherapy following the operation, can reduce cancer recurrence rates and progression to more invasive cancer. There is anecdotal evidence that the quality of TURBT surgery and the usage of intravesical chemotherapy varies widely between hospitals and thus may result in worse outcomes for some patients. The primary objective of the study is to determine if audit and feedback can improve the quality of TURBT surgery and if this reduces recurrence of NMIBC.

Does Timing of Completion Radical Cholecystectomy Determine the Survival in Incidental Carcinoma Gallbladder

Various factors determine the long term survival in this non-uniform cohort of incidental gallbladder cancer. Timing of re-intervention is suggested to play an important role in the outcome. Few centers are proponents of early surgery in order to prevent dissemination, while others have suggested an intentional delay of 3 months to filter out cases with aggressive pathology. In the present study, investigators intend to evaluate the factors affecting survival in incidental Gallbladder Cancer (IGBC) with special reference to timing of re-intervention.

Bladder cancer is the second most prevalent urological cancer in France. About 1 in 5 new cases of bladder cancer infiltrate the muscles. The standard treatment is neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by radical cystectomy associated with reconstruction of the urinary tract. The short-term effects on well-being and quality of life are well known. The long-term effects are, on the other hand, poorly understood, particularly sexual function. This study aim to asses the quality of sexual life in patients with cystectomy for bladder cancer. This will be done via various questionnaires given before and after surgery.
