Filter by:Trastuzumab-induced cardiotoxicity (TIC) will be monitored in patients with HER2+ breast cancer undergoing trastuzumab treatment before and after breast cancer surgery. At baseline before start of trastuzumab treatment, echocardiography (ECHO)/multigated Acquisition Scan (MUGA) and measurement of plasma NT-proBNP will be performed. NT-proBNP will be measured again at 6 months and at 12 months of trastuzumab treatment. If elevations in NT-proBNP at 6 months and 12 months occur patients will be referred for ECHO/MUGA. The aim is to assess the sensitivity and specificity to detect TIC with NT-proBNP and whether ECHO/MUGA can be safely replaced by assessment of plasma NT-proBNP levels.
The objective of this study is to determine if the use of scissors without electrosurgery is superior to bipolar electrosurgery for resection of uterine septum. The investigators will be comparing procedure-level variables such as operative time, complications, and need for additional procedures.
Randomized head-to-head comparison trial among patients who have undergone incomplete endoscopic resection of early colon cancer to evaluate the benefits, harms and burdens, as well as the ecological footprint and cost-effectiveness of endoscopic full thickness resection (eFTR), a minimally invasive endoscopic treatment with a colonoscope, as compared to standard-of-care surgery. Co-primary endpoints are - Rate of severe adverse events classified as grade III to V according to the Clavien Dindo classification within 30-days after study treatment - CRC recurrence or sign of lymph nodes or distant metastases at 3 years after randomization comparing the two treatment groups (eFTR versus surgery).

This study is to investigate the safety and efficacy on TIL engineered with membrane-binding cytokine (GC203 TIL) for the treatment of patients with advanced gynecologic tumors. Autologous TILs from tumor resections or biopsies are first gene modified (engineered with membrane-binding cytokine) and than expanded before i.v. infusion into the patient after NMA lymphodepletion treatment with cyclophosphamide.
This study aimed at testing the technical and clinical feasibility of the Mandarin Version of the electronic patient self-Reporting of Adverseev ents (eRAPID-MV) and the telephone triage decision support system (TTDSS) by testing them on patients with breast and colorectal cancer. The hypothesis of this study was the patients with breast and colorectal cancer who received eRAPID-MV and TTDSS were performing better on patient care outcomes and telephone screening service outcomes than patients who had not received eRAPID-MV and TTDSS. A non-randomized comparison trial was performed in St. Martin De Porres Hospital, Taiwan from July 2022 to April 2023. This study employed a quasi-experimental design to collect data from a treatment induced adverse events (TRAEs) questionnaire, a satisfaction questionnaire, and an interview with patients. It used the system usability scale (SUS) to assess data usability. 136 patients with breast cancer or colorectal cancer were unrolled and distributed in two groups. In Phase I, participants were selected based on convenience sampling and non-randomly assigned to an experimental group (N=68). They received chemotherapy and completed the eRAPID-MV measures-based TRAEs survey every week. The control group (N = 68) received usual care. The program duration was 24 weeks. At the end of the program, the researcher recruited participants from the experimental group based on voluntary recruitment for a single interview to assess their views on the eRAPID-MV system. The interview duration was approximately 20-30 minutes. Both groups completed the pre-test and post-test TRAEs questionnaire. In Phase II, when the TRAEs survey indicated a red light for experimental group, the eRAPID-MV system provided automatic recommendations to the patient to seek emergency medical services, or the patient contacted the case manager to deal with severe TRAEs. Simultaneously, the oncology case manager or oncologist received an alarm reminder immediately. Based on the TRAEs survey indication (red or yellow light) and consultation with the patient via a phone call, the oncology case manager reassessed the patient's TRAEs using TTDSS and scheduled their follow-up appointment accordingly. After 72 hours of intervention in Phase II (TTDSS), the first post-test was performed to assess the immediate effects. The long-term effects were evaluated at the end of the intervention, which lasted 180 days (6 months).
This is a single-center, prospective observational pilot study. The objective of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of trazodone as compared to quetiapine, in the management of ICU delirium in adult (>=18 years old) surgical and medical ICU patients. The investigators will compare outcomes such as delirium duration, delirium-free days, coma-free days, in-hospital mortality, 28-day mortality, hospital length of stay (LOS), ICU LOS, mechanical ventilator days, complications, adverse effects, rescue medication use, delirium symptom severity, sleep duration, and sleep quality among participants receiving trazodone or quetiapine. The investigators hypothesize participants receiving trazodone will be associated with a shorter duration of delirium, decreased delirium severity, and improved sleep quality compared to participants receiving quetiapine.
