This RCT is aimed towards determining the effectiveness of exercises based intervention strategy involving high intensity interval training exercises in improving serum testosterone level, body fat composition and physical activity in hopes to provide a definitive exercise regime for the ever common symptoms of pcos. It will be based on the theory that exercise helps in decreasing testosterone level that in turn decrease high androgen levels in the body, exercise further decreases body fat composition (obesity is a common cause or manifestation of pcos).

A Study of Soticlestat as an Add-on Therapy in Children and Young Adults With Dravet Syndrome

The main aim of the study is to learn if soticlestat, when given as an add-on therapy, reduces the number of convulsive seizures in children and young adults with DS. Participants will receive their standard antiseizure therapy, plus either a tablet of soticlestat or placebo for 16 weeks. A placebo looks just like soticlestat but will not have any medicine in it. Participants may continue treatment in an extension study, based on the extension study's entry criteria. Those that want to stop treatment will have a gradual dose reduction during 1 week and then be followed up for 2 weeks.

The aims of the study are: - to learn if soticlestat, when given as add-on therapy, reduces the number of major motor drop seizures in children, teenagers, and adults with Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome. - to assess the safety profile of soticlestat when given in combination with other therapies. Participants will receive their standard antiseizure therapy, plus either tablets of soticlestat or placebo. A placebo looks just like soticlestat but will not have any medicine in it. Participants will take soticlestat or placebo for 16 weeks, followed by a gradual dose reduction for 1 week. Then, participants will be followed up for 2 weeks.

The principal aim of this interventional, multicentre study is to compare the impact of a follow-up by monthly telephone dietetic consultations, started 3 months after discharge from hospital, for a period of 3 months, on the energy intake in patients elderly people recently hospitalized for Coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), Coronavirus disease Positive group "Covid (+)", or not, Coronavirus disease Negative group"Covid (-)". The main outcome measure is to compare the total energy intake at 6 months, after 3 months of dietary consultations, between Coronavirus disease Positive group "Covid (+)" and Coronavirus disease negative group "Covid (-)".

Berberine and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is the most frequent endocrine disease in female reproductive-age. Recently, increasing evidence has shown that natural plant-based products may play a role in PCOS management. Previous study in PCOS preclinical model and in humans demonstrated that berberine is an effective insulin sensitizer and improves homeostasis of metabolic, inflammatory and hormonal disorders. However, to date there is no clinical study that considers globally all the activities carried out by berberine in PCOS clinical features. Given this background, aim of this study was to evaluate in normal-overweight PCOS women with normal menses the berberine effectiveness on: insulin resistance by Homeostasis Model Assessment (HOMA); inflammation by C-Reactive Protein (CRP), TNF-alpha; lipid metabolism; sex hormone profile and symptoms correlated to hyperandrogenism, such as acne, by Global Acne Grading System (GAGS) and Cardiff Acne Disability Index (CADI); body composition by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry. All these parameters were collected at baseline and 60 days after supplementation with a new bioavailable and safe berberine formulation. Finally, adverse effects were assessed by liver and kidney functions. To evaluate statistically significant pre- post-supplementation changes, fitted a linear mixed model for each investigated endpoint was performed.

Risk Factors for Long-term Opioid Use

Surgeons often see patients with pain to exclude organic pathology and consider surgical treatment. We examined factors associated with long-term opioid therapy among patients with foot/ankle, anorectal, and temporomandibular joint pain to aid clinical decision making. Using the IBM MarketScan® Research Database, we conducted a retrospective cohort analysis of patients aged 18-64 with a clinical encounter for foot/ankle, anorectal, or temporomandibular joint pain (January 2007-September 2015). Multivariable logistic regression was used to estimate adjusted odds ratios for factors associated with long-term opioid therapy, including age, sex, geographic region, pain condition, psychiatric diagnoses, and surgical procedures in the previous year.

Closed Loop Mechanical Ventilation and ECMO

Mechanical ventilation and ECMO are both technologies interacting on gas exchange. Nevertheless, besides a consensus paper, no evidence-based guidelines regarding protective lung ventilation on ECMO exist to date. Mechanical Ventilation with Intellivent-ASV, an algorithm driven, closed loop system, provides an opportunity to standardize ventilation on ECMO. We propose and validate lung protective ventilation with a closed loop ventilation mode in patients with ECMO.
