Filter by:The purpose of this study is to investigate the one-year trajectory of changes in depression status in elderly patients with mild cognitive impairment and subthreshold depression, and to explore relevant risk factors for predicting changes in depression status. This one-year prospective longitudinal follow-up study involved 400 (expected) subjects who met the diagnostic criteria for mild cognitive impairment combined with subthreshold depression in the elderly, and their depressive status was assessed using the Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS). Follow up monitoring of depression status at 6 and 12 months. Obtain factors related to changes in depressive status (such as age, gender, education level, cognitive function, anxiety level, sleep status, social support, psychological resilience, social network, etc.). By studying the longitudinal trajectory of depression status in elderly patients with mild cognitive impairment and subthreshold depression, a multi state Markov model with time and state discreteness is constructed, namely: State 1 (normal); State 2 (subliminal depression); State 3 (mild depression); State 4 (moderate depression); State 5 (severe depression). Deeply explore and analyze the impact of certain factors and indicators on the transition between states, and estimate the probability of transition between states.

It is estimated that approximately 30% of child and adolescents manifest subthreshold depression, which can further develop into major depression with as high as 25%-50% within one year. The main aim of this trial is to investigate the effect of long-term exercise on preventing major depression and depressive symptoms in young people (aged 10-17 years old). Other aims include the underlying mechanisms of how aerobic exercise works and predictors for treatment response.
Lycium barbarum, a traditional Chinese herbal medicine, is a commonly used herb in the traditional Chinese pharmacopoeia . Its main active ingredient, lycium barbarum polysaccharide (LBP), is reported to have neuroprotective effects. Animal studies suggested that LBP has neuroprotective effect on optic ganglion cells. In animal models of depression, LBP can improve depressive symptom by improving synaptic plasticity. However, its clinical effect remains to be studied. We will conduct a 6-week double-blind, randomized, placebo-con-trolled trial in people with subthreshold depression.The purpose of this clinical trial is to investigate the efficacy of LBP in people with subthreshold depression.
