NCT ID: NCT06308627 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Mild Cognitive Impairment

A One-year Trajectory of Depression Status Changes in Elderly Patients With MCI and SD: a Longitudinal Cohort Study

Start date: June 1, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this study is to investigate the one-year trajectory of changes in depression status in elderly patients with mild cognitive impairment and subthreshold depression, and to explore relevant risk factors for predicting changes in depression status. This one-year prospective longitudinal follow-up study involved 400 (expected) subjects who met the diagnostic criteria for mild cognitive impairment combined with subthreshold depression in the elderly, and their depressive status was assessed using the Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS). Follow up monitoring of depression status at 6 and 12 months. Obtain factors related to changes in depressive status (such as age, gender, education level, cognitive function, anxiety level, sleep status, social support, psychological resilience, social network, etc.). By studying the longitudinal trajectory of depression status in elderly patients with mild cognitive impairment and subthreshold depression, a multi state Markov model with time and state discreteness is constructed, namely: State 1 (normal); State 2 (subliminal depression); State 3 (mild depression); State 4 (moderate depression); State 5 (severe depression). Deeply explore and analyze the impact of certain factors and indicators on the transition between states, and estimate the probability of transition between states.

NCT ID: NCT06294184 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation

tDCS Interventions for Subthreshold Depressive Symptoms in Young Individuals.

Start date: November 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to assess the mechanisms of the effect of transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) in alleviating subthreshold depressive symptoms in young individuals, and individualized outcome prediction is carried out.

NCT ID: NCT06222346 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Subthreshold Depression

Online Peer Support in Long-term Conditions

Start date: February 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Over 15 million people in England live with a long-term physical health condition. Low mood, loneliness and worry related to chronic illness are very common. In partnership with people with long-term conditions we have co-designed an online peer support platform to help people with health problems connect, support others, share experiences, and receive evidence-based information and advice on self-management. This study explores if the platform is feasible to implement and acceptable for people with long-term conditions experiencing mild depressive symptoms. Those allocated to the intervention arm will be invited to try out an online peer support platform with psychoeducational resources named "CommonGround". Those in the control arm will be guided to use the National Health Service NHS "Mental Health" webpages.

NCT ID: NCT04816617 Recruiting - Exercise Clinical Trials

The Effect of Exercise on Preventing Depression in Young People

Start date: October 21, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

It is estimated that approximately 30% of child and adolescents manifest subthreshold depression, which can further develop into major depression with as high as 25%-50% within one year. The main aim of this trial is to investigate the effect of long-term exercise on preventing major depression and depressive symptoms in young people (aged 10-17 years old). Other aims include the underlying mechanisms of how aerobic exercise works and predictors for treatment response.

NCT ID: NCT04707495 Completed - Clinical trials for Subthreshold Depression

Treating Depressed Mood With a Smartphone-delivered Positive Word Stimulation for Subthreshold Depression

Start date: March 4, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Major depressive disorder (MDD) is an important public health problem. Thus, preventive interventions against subthreshold depression (StD), which is one of the key risk factors for the development of MDD, are important. The study developed a smartphone application (SPSRS) that improves depressive symptoms in people with StD by automatically presenting positive word stimuli during videos. The SPSRS application has the potential to improve depressive symptoms in people with StDs. However, whether it can immediately improve depressed moods in people with StD is unclear. The study aims to investigate the immediate effects of SPSRS applications on depressed mood in people with StD.

NCT ID: NCT04319562 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Subthreshold Depression

Needle-embedding Therapy Alleviates Depressive Symptoms and Resets the Function of Executive Control System in Subthreshold Depression People

Start date: April 1, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The main objective of this trial is to evaluate the effectiveness of treating subthreshold depression by needle-embedding therapy. On this basis, the investigators will discuss the mechanism of needle-embedding therapy improving executive function control system.

NCT ID: NCT04136041 Completed - Clinical trials for Subthreshold Depression

Study Protocol for a Smartphone Application-based Intervention for Subthreshold Depression

Start date: October 29, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The investigators plan to conduct a randomized controlled trial to examine whether a Smartphone-based Intervention improves subthreshold depression symptoms compared to no intervention. The purpose of this pilot randomized controlled trial is to investigate the feasibility of the final randomized controlled trial.

NCT ID: NCT04032795 Recruiting - Depressive Symptoms Clinical Trials

Evaluation of Efficacy of Lycium Barbarum Polysaccharide in People With Subthreshold Depression

Start date: May 15, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Lycium barbarum, a traditional Chinese herbal medicine, is a commonly used herb in the traditional Chinese pharmacopoeia . Its main active ingredient, lycium barbarum polysaccharide (LBP), is reported to have neuroprotective effects. Animal studies suggested that LBP has neuroprotective effect on optic ganglion cells. In animal models of depression, LBP can improve depressive symptom by improving synaptic plasticity. However, its clinical effect remains to be studied. We will conduct a 6-week double-blind, randomized, placebo-con-trolled trial in people with subthreshold depression. The purpose of this clinical trial is to investigate the efficacy of LBP in people with subthreshold depression.

NCT ID: NCT03110016 Completed - Clinical trials for Subthreshold Depression

Start date: May 16, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The study aimed to examine the feasibility, usability, user satisfaction, safety, and preliminary efficacy of a smartphone application intervention for young adults with subthreshold depression.
