Filter by:The purpose of this study is to examine the effectiveness of virtual reality (VR) delivered exposure therapy for youth with phobias or social anxiety, with and without autism spectrum disorder. The study team is also interested in collecting information to better understand phobias and social anxiety.
The aim of this study is to examine the efficacy of virtual reality exposure therapy (VRET) as a treatment for specific phobia (acrophobia). The study will randomly assign 42 participants with acrophobia to one of two conditions: a) the experimental condition (consisting of 3 sessions of virtual reality exposure) or b) a control condition. Both groups will receive short information session about general principles of exposure therapy before the start of the study. After the end of the study, the waitlist group will be invited to attend the short version (one or two-sessions) of the VRET. Both groups will receive a final follow-up questionnaires 2 months after the last session.
The main aim of this study is to validate and test the clinical effectiveness of the projection-based augmented reality system in cockroach phobia exposure therapy through an RCT that includes three conditions: (i) projection-based augmented reality therapy, (ii) usual treatment (in vivo exposure), (iii) waiting list control. In addition, it is intended to analyze the potential of the eye-tracking technology as a tool for evaluating the clinical effectiveness in cockroach phobia treatment.
To investigate the efficacy and acceptability of a guided internet delivered transdiagnostic intervention, targeting mild to moderate clinical symptoms of anxiety and depression and emphasizing the changes taking place at the level of the structures of the self.
Objectives 1. To test the effectiveness and acceptability of an augmented internet-supported transdiagnostic intervention in Romania. 2. To assess the cost-effectiveness of the Internet version of the transdiagnostic program as compared to a standard treatment/usual care.
The collection of patient self-report and diagnostic data will allow us to examine the efficacy of the treatment delivered in the McLean Anxiety Mastery Program. Using data gathered through routine clinical care, the investigators seek to explore whether patients in treatment show improvements from admission to discharge, compared to patients on the waitlist, and whether these gains are maintained three months post-discharge. The following are included as examples of some of the study's hypotheses.

The goal of this study is to examine the effectiveness of a personalized type of psychotherapy against standard-care psychotherapy for addressing anxiety in youth with ASD.
This study tests whether a single session of exposure therapy may be enhanced by the addition of anti-phobic actions beyond the mere fading of safety behaviors. A total of 100 acrophobic participants will be randomly assigned to receive standard exposure therapy (EXP), exposure therapy with safety behavior fading (EXP + SBF), exposure with safety behavior fading and anti-phobic actions (EXP + SBF + AA), or to a wait-list control group (WL).
