NCT ID: NCT05765149 Recruiting - Sleep Disorder Clinical Trials

A Cohort Study on Sleep Disorders During Pregnancy

Start date: February 17, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The goal of this observational study is to: 1) determine the prevalence of sleep disorders in pregnancy and the early postpartum; 2) identify factors associated with sleep disturbance during pregnancy and the early postpartum; 3) describe the progression of sleep quality and quantity as gestational age; 4) determine if sleep is associated with adverse perinatal outcomes. Participants were asked to wear a forehead sleep recorder for 4 consecutive days and to complete a sleep questionnaire at ten timepoints: at 3 months, 4 months, 5 months, 6 months, 7 months, 8 months, and 9 months pregnant and at 1 month, 2 months and 3 months postpartum.

NCT ID: NCT05746507 Recruiting - Opioid Use Disorder Clinical Trials

Night Respite for Postpartum Mothers With SUD

Start date: December 20, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This single arm pilot feasibility study will evaluate the implementation of overnight infant respite care and parenting skills to mothers with substance use disorders in the early postpartum period residing in residential substance use disorder treatment programs.

NCT ID: NCT05739773 Recruiting - Sleep Disorder Clinical Trials

Evaluation of the Effect of Combined Music on Sleep Disorder

Start date: October 7, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The results of this study will provide an affordable, safe and scientific treatment for patients with sleep disorders, so that patients can improve their sleep quality at home.

NCT ID: NCT05734547 Recruiting - Quality of Life Clinical Trials

Stepping Together for Children After Trauma, Norway

NorStep
Start date: April 14, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this randomized controlled trial is to learn about how to effectively help children (aged 7-12) who have developed moderate symptoms of posttraumatic stress after exposure to trauma, and prevent development of more severe problems. The main research questions are: - Will the parent-led, therapist assisted treatment "Stepping Together for Children after Trauma" (ST-CT) be more effective, compared to usual care, in reducing symptoms of posttraumatic stress, depression and sleep disorders, and in improving daily functioning for children and their parents after trauma? - Is ST-CT implemented to the municipal first-line services cost-effective? - Will ST-CT prevent use of health care services and prescribed drugs in the long term? The children and their non-offending caregivers will be randomized to receive treatment with ST-CT or usual care, and symptoms and general functioning will be assessed at five time-points.

NCT ID: NCT05701969 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Sleep Disorders, Circadian Rhythm

Effect of Melatonin on Sleep Patterns of Resident Trainees During Night Float Shift

Start date: May 30, 2022
Phase: Early Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

Anesthesiology residency requires extended and overnight shifts, which may negatively impact the quantity and quality of sleep. Previous studies have investigated the effect of night float shift work on anesthesiology resident sleep and performance and demonstrated that total sleep quantity and time spent in deep and rapid eye movement (REM) sleep were significantly reduced during night float and did not return to baseline after 3 nights of recovery. Melatonin is a hormone produced by the pineal gland, which regulates the circadian rhythm that governs sleep. Exogenous melatonin may be used as a sleep aid and is available over the counter in the United States. Melatonin is effective in realigning the circadian rhythm disorder caused by night shift work and increasing sleep duration; however, melatonin's effect on improving sleep in resident trainees has not been investigated. The investigators propose a prospective double-blinded randomized control trial to investigate the effect of melatonin on sleep quantity and quality in resident physicians assigned to a night float system.

NCT ID: NCT05700136 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Circadian Rhythm Sleep Disorder, Jet Lag Type

Factors Associated With Infant Circadian Rhythm, Growth, and Temperament

Start date: February 24, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

The goal of this observational study is to learn about the role of modifiable factors affecting infant circadian rhythm so that recommendations can be made for better health outcomes for the mother and infant. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. What is the association of prenatal and postnatal maternal circadian clock with infant's circadian clock at 3 months? 2. What is the association of birth outcomes, maternal factors, and environmental factors with infant circadian clock at 3 months? 3. What is the role of infant circadian clock on infant growth and temperament at 6 months of age? Participants will complete a set of questionnaires and provide saliva samples during third trimester of pregnancy and at 3 months after birth of infant.

NCT ID: NCT05683483 Recruiting - Surgery Clinical Trials

WEsleep Trial: Improving Sleep in Hospitalized Patients

WEsleep
Start date: April 11, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

In the WEsleep study, the investigators will perform a cluster randomized controlled trial. 3 surgical and 3 medical departments will be randomized to implement low-cost and simple interventions aimed at improving sleep in admitted patients. Another 3 surgical and 3 medical departments will be randomized to function as control groups. Subjective sleep quality and sleep-wake timing will be assessed in adult medical and surgical patients admitted into one of 12 participating wards, using questionnaires and a sleep diary. In addition, in a subset of participants, objective sleep measures will be assessed in with an EEG headband and a sleep mat.

NCT ID: NCT05668481 Recruiting - Sleep Disorder Clinical Trials

Improving Patient Memory for Treatment for Mild Cognitive Impairment

Start date: May 19, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The main empirical question to be addressed is: What types of memory support are most potent for patients who are experiencing a mild cognitive impairment (MCI) relative to non-MCI patients?

NCT ID: NCT05618405 Recruiting - Anesthesia Clinical Trials

Changes in Circadian Rhythm After Anaesthesia in Children

CLOCKSkids
Start date: March 16, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

In this study the investigators will examine the effect of general anesthesia and surgery on sleep duration and sleep quality in children, using questionnaires and a sleep diary.

NCT ID: NCT05569603 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Circadian Rhythm Sleep Disorder

Effects of Chronobiology-guided Lifestyle Interventions on Insomnia Severity, Cognitive Performance, and Sleepiness

Start date: January 12, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Poor sleep is closely related to circadian misalignment; shift workers often experience shift work disorder characterized by excessive sleepiness and recurrent shift work schedules-associated insomnia. This study aims to examine the effects of a program of chronobiology-guided lifestyle interventions (CGLI) on insomnia severity, cognitive performance (psychomotor vigilance and processing speed), and sleepiness in female nurses undertaking rotating-shift work.
