Filter by:The goal of this observational study is to learn about quality of life, stress and caregiver burden in patients with stroke and their caregivers. The main question is: • to discover the factors associated with quality of life and stress in patient-caregiver dyads. Participants will be asked to fill out questionnaires and agree to provide a hair sample (in order to measure stress hormones in hair) and consent to use of their routine clinical and laboratory data. Researchers will compare a group of participants without stroke to establish a comparable baseline.
The purpose of this aim of the study is to gather quantitative and qualitative information to inform the development of a digital app tailored for Native American women to help them avoid a pregnancy affected by alcohol.
This digital couples-based HIV/STI prevention intervention project will determine preliminary efficacy to improve uptake of evidence-based strategies and a tailored prevention plan among cisgender male couples who are in a relationship (defined as greater than 3 months or more).
Despite advances in HIV diagnostics, care and prevention strategies, infection rates among adolescent and young adult sexual and gender minorities (SGM) continue to rise in the United States (US). There is an urgent need to describe the epidemiology and trajectories of HIV acquisition in this population and to offer age and culturally appropriate scalable prevention interventions to those at highest risk of infection in the US. This project will engage and retain young SGM in an innovative longitudinal cohort, enroll participants in a dynamic established digital health retention platform (HMP; HealthMPowerment), monitor HIV risk and prevention behaviors and explore the socioecological factors that influence the use of new HIV prevention technologies (UG3 phase), while also allowing targeted testing of novel digital health interventions (UH3 phase). In Aim 1, the investigators will enroll and retain a large (n=6000; 3000/year), diverse cohort of sexually active, SGM adolescents and young adults, ages 13-34, using innovative digital recruitment, engagement and retention strategies. Over the course of the study, the investigators will longitudinally characterize the sexual behavior, HIV transmission risk, and PrEP uptake trajectories of SGM youth utilizing epidemiological trajectory analyses to identify the most effective points of intervention (Aim 2). This study will capitalize upon productive existing partnerships and digital health expertise to articulate the drivers of the ongoing HIV epidemic among the most vulnerable populations in the US in order to identify the most effective, expeditious and scalable strategies to address this ongoing public health crisis.
According to the World Health Organization, sexual health is a state of well-being related to sexuality as a whole, not just the absence of disease or dysfunction or disability. sexual health; It requires a positive and respectful attitude, free from sexual coercion and discrimination, free of violence, enjoyable and safe experiences. It obliges the respect, protection and fulfillment of the sexual rights of every individual. sexual health; includes a safe and respectful framework free from violence and discrimination; it covers not only the reproductive period, but every age period; different sexual identities and forms of sexual expression, as well as livable and critical gender values, roles, expectations and power dynamics. Insufficient information, difficult access to health services and lack of a guiding structure; It negatively affects young individuals' ability to take responsible decisions with good knowledge about sexuality during their sexual development. Information is obtained from channels where erroneous and incorrect information transfer is intense, and the ways of accessing this information play an important role in the spread of sexual myths in society. Based on all these reasons; This study aimed to develop the Sexual Health Literacy Scale.
The goal of this randomized control trial is to clinical trial is to evaluate Many Ways of Being, an innovative sexual health promotion program focused on addressing rigid gender norms and promoting healthy relationships. The overall goal of the MWB program is to reduce incidence of sexually transmitted infections (STI) and unplanned pregnancy and promote healthy, consensual, and violence-free relationships among youth. The primary research question we aim to answer through this study is: Among youth ages 15-19, does the Many Ways of Being program reduce unprotected sex (through consistent and correct use of condoms and contraceptives) compared to the a career readiness program, which does not include sexual health components? As part of the study, participants will be asked to: - Attend approximately 14 hours and 40 minutes of programming completed over 4-8 weeks - Complete baseline, post-intervention, and 9-month follow-up surveys - For select participants who received the MWB program, participate in an optional focus group discussion The local evaluation will focus on the impact of the entire MWB intervention, as compared to a similar-length control program focused on career readiness.
The goal of this clinical trial is to learn about an injection of platelet rich plasma into the vaginal wall and around the clitoris. The main questions it aims to answer are: - To see if a PRP injection improves sexual satisfaction - To learn the effect of PRP injections on sexual function Participants will get assigned to getting a one time PRP injection or a placebo injection. They will answer questionnaires about their sexual function at their first visit and their followup visit. The investigators will then compare the two groups.
This proposal seeks to adapt an existing peer navigation protocol (by adding coping skills and using telehealth) to be feasible, acceptable, and capable of supporting both PrEP uptake and P-E adherence for YBMSM ages 15-24.
The investigators will conduct a waitlist control trial to test the efficacy of the Journey of Transformation-Native Youth Health Leadership Program (JOT) in terms of delaying or reducing tobacco and other substance use and improving sexual health.
The goal of this clinical trial is to test the effectiveness of our brief online program when compared to those who don't complete the program at all.
