Hilotherapy vs Frozen Gloves for Preventing Taxane-related Peripheral Neuropathy, Pain and Nail Toxicity in Breast Cancer
The prevention of taxane-related toxicities at the extremities is highly important for patients' treatment and quality-of-life. Unlike standard cryotherapy with frozen gloves, hilotherapy produces cooling at a constant temperature. Comparative data with frozen gloves are unavailable. This prospective self-controlled study explores the efficacy of hilotherapy at the right hand and foot compared to frozen gloves at the left in patients with early breast cancer treated with weekly paclitaxel 80 mg/m² or three-weekly docetaxel 75 mg/m².

The Effect of Transcutaneous Application of Gaseous CO2 on Diabetic Symmetrical Peripheral Neuropathy - A Double Blind Randomized Clinical Trial
The research is designed to evaluate influence of transcutaneous application of CO2 (carbon dioxide) on peripheral diabetic neuropathy. Transcutaneous application of CO2 is known to have immediate effect on vasodilatation and elevates oxygen release from Hb via the Bohr effect. After repetition of the therapies neoangiogenesis is induced. Impairment of microcirculation is one of the causes of diabetic peripheral neuropathy and improvement in circulation could have positive effect also on peripheral neuropathy. In order to evaluate the effect of transcutaneous application of CO2 on peripheral neuropathy in diabetic patients the investigators designed a randomised double blind clinical trial.

Effect of Sensorimotor Training on Gait, Ankle Muscle Strength and Quality of Life in Patients With Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy: A Randomized Controlled Trial
Diabetic peripheral neuropathy is a common chronic complication of diabetes mellitus which results in high public health costs and has a huge impact on patients' quality of life. It leads to sensory and motor deficits, which often result in mobility-related dysfunction, and alterations in gait characteristics. These alternations in gait performance cause increase in the risk of fall, which has the strongest association with symptoms of depression in patients with diabetes. However, little is known about possible treatment strategies for improving gait ability and reduce risk of fall in patients with diabetic neuropathy. So, the purpose of this study will be to investigate the effect of sensorimotor training on ankle muscle strength, gait and quality of life in patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy. To determine if there is an effect for sensorimotor training on gait, ankle muscle strength and quality of life in patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy, the patient will be assessed before and after 6 weeks of treatment by measurement of ankle muscles strength using isokinetic dynamometer, measurement of different spatiotemporal gait parameters using gait trainer instrument , and assessment of quality of life of the patients using HRQL questionnaire (SF-36) before and after the treatment sessions.

Pilot Study of Oral Cryotherapy vs. Oral Cryotherapy Plus Acupuncture and Acupressure to Decrease Chemotherapy-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy From Oxaliplatin-Based Chemotherapy for GI Cancers
This phase II trial investigates how well oral cryotherapy plus acupressure and acupuncture compared with oral cryotherapy alone work in decreasing chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy in patients with gastrointestinal cancer who are receiving oxaliplatin-based chemotherapy. Acupressure is the application of pressure or localized massage to specific sites on the body to control symptoms such as pain or nausea. Acupuncture is the technique of inserting thin needles through the skin at specific points on the body to control pain and other symptoms. Cryotherapy uses cold temperature such as oral ice chips to prevent abnormally increased pain sensation. Giving oral cryotherapy with acupressure and acupuncture may work better in decreasing chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy from oxaliplatin-based chemotherapy in patients with gastrointestinal cancer compared to oral cryotherapy alone.

Effect of Reflexology on Ankle Brachial Index, Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy, and Glycemic Control in Elderly Diabetic Individuals
Background: Glycemic control can be difficult in the elderly with diabetes.Diabetic foot problems characterized by vascular and neuropathy are serious complications. The effectiveness of reflexology has been demonstrated to achieve glycemic control and manage diabetic foot problems. Objectives: To determine the effect of foot reflexology on ankle brachial index (ABI), diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) and glycemic control in elderly diabetic individuals. Design: A randomized clinical trial. Settings: An outpatient elderly health center in Turkey. Participants: 48 individuals aged 65 and over enrolled in the elderly health center were included. Methods: The elderly were randomized into two groups (study, n=24; control,n=24). Foot reflexology was performed for 12 week in the study group, whereas the control group continued their routine treatment and follow-up. Both groups underwent a comprehensive foot examination for evaluating ABI and DPN at baseline and after 12 weeks; furthermore, glycemic control (glycated hemoglobin-HbA1c) was evaluated. An independent two-sample t-test was performed for pre- and post-test between-group comparisons; an effect size analysis was performed to determine the effect of intervention.

A Study to Assess the Safety, Tolerability, Pharmacokinetics, and Pharmacodynamics of TRK-750 in Colorectal Cancer Patients With Chemotherapy-induced Peripheral Neuropathy Following Oxaliplatin-containing Chemotherapy in the Adjuvant Setting
The primary objective of the study is: • to assess the safety and tolerability of multiple oral (twice daily [BID]) doses of TRK-750 in oxaliplatin-treated colorectal cancer patients with chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN). The secondary objectives of the study are: - to assess the efficacy of multiple oral (BID) doses of TRK-750 in reducing neuropathic symptoms, improving quality of life (QoL), and clinician-reported outcomes in oxaliplatin-treated colorectal cancer patients with CIPN. - to study the relationship between plasma concentrations of TRK-750 and safety and efficacy variables in oxaliplatin-treated colorectal cancer patients with CIPN. The exploratory objective of this study is: • to assess the efficacy of multiple oral (BID) doses of TRK-750 on pharmacodynamic (PD) biomarker(s) in blood, psychophysical, electrophysiological, and histological parameters of neuropathy in oxaliplatin-treated colorectal cancer patients with CIPN.

Efficacy of Pregabalin and Duloxetine in Patients With Painful Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy (PDPN): the Effect of Pain on Cognitive Function, Sleep and Quality of Life (BLOSSOM)
The objective and the purpose of the trial is to: assess the efficacy of Pregabalin Krka and Dulsevia® in patients with PDPN, investigate the effect of Pregabalin Krka and Dulsevia® on pain and on quality of life (QOL), depression symptoms, cognitive functions, sleep quality and daytime sleepiness and assess the safety of Pregabalin Krka and Dulsevia® in patients with PDPN. During the 3 months (12 weeks) 5 visits and 2 phone calls are planned. After the ICF signature and before therapy is allocated, a screening procedure is carried out to verify eligibility: laboratory analyses (concentrations of TSH, vitamin B12, folic acid, glucose, HbA1c, pregnancy test for women of childbearing potential), assessment of PDPN (with questionnaire DN4), assessment of cognition (with questionnaire MoCA), habits, medical history (medical/surgical history and concomitant diseases, previous and/or existing therapy of pain in PDPN, concomitant medications) with measurements and evaluation of pain according to VAS. On Visit 2 investigator checks the results of laboratory tests, of pregnancy test, measures vital signs, evaluates pain in PDPN according to VAS, checks previous analgesic therapy and concomitant medications. If patient meets all inclusion and exclusion criteria, he/she is eligible and will be randomly assigned (automatically through electronic version of case report form (eCRF) into two therapy groups (treatment arms) - tretament with Pregabalin Krka OR treatment with Dulsevia®. Investigator performs assessments of: QoL, sleep quality and daytime sleepiness, depression and adverse events. At Visit 3, compliance monitoring is done, pain intensity in PDPN by VAS is evaluated, concomitant therapy is checked, vital signs are measured, doses of IMP are adjusted and adverse events assessment are carried out. At Visit 4, pregnancy test for women of childbearing potential and compliance monitoring are carried out; concomitant medications are checked, vital signs are measured, pain intensity in PDPN by VAS is evaluated, IMP are adjusted and assessment of adverse events is carried out. At Visit 5 investigator performs again assessments of: QoL, sleep quality and daytime sleepiness, depression, cognition and PDPN. Evaluation of the pain intensity in PDPN by VAS and assessment of the adverse events should be performed. Pregnancy test for women of childbearing potential is carried out.
