Engagement Trends in Clinical Trials for Metastatic Prostate Cancer - A Journey Into Participation Patterns Among Individuals Affected by the Condition

Taking part in clinical trials usually favors a particular demographic group. But there is limited research available to explain what trial attributes affect the completion of these specific demographic groups. This research will admit a wide range of data on the clinical study experience of metastatic prostate cancer patients to determine which factors prevail in limiting a patient's ability to join or finish a trial. It will also try to analyze data from the perspective of different demographic groups to check for recurring trends which might yield insights for the sake of future patients with metastatic prostate cancer.

ARTEMIS-003: A Phase 2, Open-label, Multi-center Study to Evaluate Efficacy, Safety, and Pharmacokinetics, of Intravenous Administration of HS-20093 in Metastasis Castration Resistant Prostate Cancer Patients Who Have Progressed Following at Least One Prior Therapy

HS-20093 is a fully humanized IgG1 antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) which specifically binds to B7-H3, a target wildly expressed on solid tumor cells. The objectives of this study are to investigate the anti-tumor activity, safety and pharmacokinetics of HS-20093 in Chinese patients with metastasis Castration Resistant Prostate Cancer. This is a phase 2, open-label, multi-center study to evaluate the efficacy, safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetic (PK) of HS-20093 as a monotherapy in subjects with metastasis castration resistant prostate cancers (mCRPC) and other solid tumors.

This study is a single-center registry study collecting clinical data regarding the treatment of PSMA-positive metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer treated with PSMA radionuclide therapy per the treating physician's discretion. Clinical data from candidates for or who undergo the PSMA procedure at Methodist Dallas Medical Center from August 2022 to August 2027 will be collected after discharge and patients will undergo clinical follow-up per the treating physician's discretion.

Prospective Pilot Study of Navigator-Assisted Hypofractionation (NAVAH) Impact on Radiation Therapy Completion in Black Breast & Prostate Cancer Patients

African-Americans have disparately limited access to optimal cancer care. They have the highest overall cancer death rate and shortest survival time of any racial or ethnic group in the United States. Elucidation of disparities in access to cancer care are important since previous work has indicated that when equal access to RT in Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG) prospective randomized trials is granted, race does not independently affect outcomes, a finding similar to work conducted in Level I evidence-proven optimal management of curable neurologic conditions. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in African-American women and Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in African-American men. African-American breast & prostate cancer participants are less likely to receive standard-of-care radiation therapy. Previous work has identified that compared to Caucasian women with breast cancer, African-American women are 48% more likely to have RT omission during treatment, 167% less likely to receive timely completion of RT after breast-conserving surgery, 40% less likely to complete RT, and significantly more likely to experience RT treatment delays. Shorter course radiation therapy may reduce disparities in radiation therapy care facing African-American breast cancer participants.

Interstitial Assessment of Architectural Heterogeneity in Prostate Cancer Using a Fine Needle Photoacoustic Probe

In this project, we will integrate the Photoacoustic (PA) technology into a prostate biopsy procedure through a fine needle probe. The needle probe will be in the shape of a biopsy needle and compatible with the needle insertion mechanism in the transrectal ultrasound (TRUS) probe. When inserted into the prostate, the fine needle PA probe will assess the histological information in its surrounding tissue without any tissue extraction. The needle probe has been tested in prostate tissue samples and whole human prostates ex vivo.
