Effectiveness of Foot Exercise Training on Patients With Type 2 Diabetes and Peripheral Neuropathy
The aim of this study will to investigate the effect of foot exercises in patients with type 2 diabetic and peripheral neuropathy. Subjects will be randomly allocated to either the control or intervention group. Data will be collected using investigator-developed forms: patient information form and the diabetic foot exercises log. Patients in the intervention group will be received standard treatment and performed foot exercises for three times a week 8 weeks; the control group will be received standard treatment but no exercises. The intervention and control groups will be examined and measured at the 4th and 8th weeks.

The Effect of Intraneural Facilitation Therapy on Diabetic Patients With Peripheral Neuropathy
The purpose of this graduate student research study is to explore the effects of a new treatment known as Intraneural facilitation (INF) on Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 (DMT2) subjects who have moderate - severe below ankle neuropathy symptoms. Since INF has shown success in the clinic and significant improvements have been found in a recent pilot study, this study aims to further explore these effects on DMT2 subjects suffering from DPN. The investigators would like to investigate if INF improves blood flow in the foot, if it decreases the pain and improves the sensation, and if it improves the overall quality of life.

Prospective Validation Trial of Taxane Therapy (Docetaxel or Weekly Paclitaxel) and Risk of Chemotherapy-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy in African American Women
This phase II trial studies whether a prior germline predictor of taxane-induced peripheral neuropathy (TIPN) can help identify a subgroup of patients who are at higher risk of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy in African American patients with stages I-III breast cancer. The study also investigates whether docetaxel maybe work better than paclitaxel with regard to TIPN rate/severity and dose reductions.

Chemotherapy Induced Peripheral Neuropathy Natural History Study (EPIPHANY)
This is a prospective natural history study of CIPN in approximately 200 participants receiving taxanes (paclitaxel, docetaxel) for breast cancer, bortezomib for multiple myeloma, oxaliplatin-based regimens for colorectal cancer, or vincristine for lymphoma.. Demographic data, medical history, electronic PROs, ClinROs blood biomarkers including NF-L, PGx DNA analyses and Bedside-QST will be assessed at Baseline. The Observation Period will initiate with the first dose of chemotherapy and conclude with the last dose of chemotherapy. During the Observation Period, participants will be evaluated for the development of CIPN using PROs and ClinROs. Blood biomarkers and Bedside-QST will be measured at various timepoints corresponding with treatment regimen schedules throughout the observation period. The Post Chemotherapy Follow-up Period will begin with the first visit after the last dose of chemotherapy and conclude 6 months after the last dose of chemotherapy. During the Post Chemotherapy Follow-up Period, participants will be evaluated for CIPN using PROs and ClinROs. Blood biomarkers and Bedside-QST will also be measured at the beginning and at the end of the Post-Chemotherapy Follow-up Period. PROs will be assessed electronically on a monthly basis.

Sensory Abnormalities in Post-surgical Peripheral Neuropathy: A Comparison of Subjects With and Without Severe Pain Using Normative Data
The concept of normality is a cornerstone in medical practice and research. As an example, in clinical chemistry, a laboratory value based on a plasma sample exceeding the +/- 1.96 x standard deviation (SD) range, referenced from normative material, is, per definition, outside the normal range (the reference interval). Obviously, a number of reasons for this deviation may exist. The sample value could reflect a "true" pathological condition but could also be caused by error, e.g., technical measurement error, drug-interaction error, random error, or reflect a value occurring in 5% of the healthy population. Conversely, a sample value in the normal range evidently does not exclude a pathological condition. The reference interval is calculated from a large number of healthy subjects sampled across age, anthropometrics, ethnicity, and gender. Normative reference intervals are certainly of help, particularly in the screening of subjects, but may be of limited value in the detailed assessment of pathophysiological processes. Also, increasing the number of analyses in a subject expands the risk of making a type I error (acquiring "false" positive results). The likelihood of one or more type I errors in the analysis of 10 different laboratory values in one subject is impressive 46% ([1 - 0.95^10] =0.46). It is well-known that multiple measurements are commonly performed in medical practice and research, but corrected significance levels are not always used.

A Pilot Study Using Ultrasound for the Detection of Oxaliplatin-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy
This pilot clinical trial studies how well ultrasound works in detecting oxaliplatin-induced neuropathy in patients with gastrointestinal cancer. Ultrasound may work better in diagnosing and detecting neuropathy in gastrointestinal cancer patients treated with the chemotherapy drug called a oxaliplatin.
