Radiotherapy of Pelvic Lymph Nodes in High Risk Prostate Cancer - A Retrospective Analysis

Retrospektive Analyse Der Radiotherapie Des Pelvinen Lymphabflusses Beim Lokalisierten Prostatakarzinom Vom Hochrisikotyp Anhand Der Klinikdatenbank 2010-2016

Men with high risk prostate cancer who underwent radiotherapy of the prostate/seminal vesicles or underwent postoperative radiotherapy including pelvic lymph nodes between 2010 and 2016 are analyzed retrospectively. The aims are to estimate progression-free survival as well as toxicity according to CTCAE v4.03.

Big Data and Text-mining Technologies Applied for Breast Cancer Medical Data Analysis - SENOMETRY

SENOMETRY : Big Data and Text-mining Technologies Applied for Breast Cancer Medical Data Analysis

Primary purpose : To develop a method to automatically extract and structure the information included in numerous medical records from breast cancer patients. Secondary purpose : With this procedure we can analyze the content of ten thousand anonymized textual medical records. This information should enable us to explore many subjects, such as: - The impact of certain therapeutic procedures - The characteristics of sub-groups of patients - Pregnancy associated breast cancers - Risk factors

High Definition Single Cell Analysis in Colorectal Cancer

High Definition Single Cell Analysis in Colorectal Cancer

This research clinical trial studies high definition single cell analysis in blood and tissue samples from patients with colorectal cancer which has spread to the liver. High definition single cell analysis allows doctors to study the properties of cancer cells that are sometimes found in the blood of patients and to determine how the genes and proteins in them may change over time. Studying samples from patients with colorectal cancer in the laboratory may help doctors learn more about how cancer spreads, as well as how to predict the disease outcomes in patients with cancer.

Inferior Alveolar Nerve Block for Intraoperative Analgesia for Maxillofacial Cancer Surgery - RCT

Inferior Alveolar Nerve Block for Intraoperative Analgesia for Maxillofacial Cancer Surgery Requiring Unilateral Mandibular Resection-A Randomized Controlled Study

Mandibular resection which is an important component of maxillofacial cancer surgery is an extremely painful procedure associated with severe sympathetic response needing high doses of opioids. Inferior alveolar nerve block is a common nerve block used by dentists for mandibular dental extractions. The aim of this trial is to study the effect of this block for intraoperative analgesia in maxillofacial cancer surgeries requiring unilateral mandibular resection.

Targeted Genomic Analysis of Blood and Tissue Samples From Patients With Cancer

Targeted Genomic Analysis of Human Cancers

This research trial studies the use of targeted genomic analysis of blood and tissue samples from patients with cancer. Genomic sequencing is a laboratory method that is used to determine the entire genetic makeup of a specific organism or cell type. Genomic sequencing can be used to find changes in areas of the genome that may be important in the development of cancer. It may also help doctors improve ways to diagnose and treat patients with rare cancers with poor prognosis or lack of effective therapy.

Analgesic Treatment for Cancer Pain in South East Asia - ACE

A Cross-sectional Study to Investigate the Pain Control Status in Cancer Patients in South East Asian Countries

This study is planned to investigate the pain control status in cancer patients in 6 South East Asian countries through evaluation of prescription pattern of analgesics, satisfaction of pain control, quality of life and assessment of the adequacy of pain control and relationship among these factors in cancer patients with pain. Cancer pain is undermanaged and it is hoped that this study will be used as a reference for effective cancer pain management in these countries.

Clinical and Laboratory Analysis of Familial Cancer

Clinical and Laboratory Analysis of Familial Cancer

Background: DNA makes up the instruction book for people s cells. Cancer is a disease caused by DNA changes that build up and affect cell function. Researchers want to learn more about what may cause cancer by testing the DNA of people with the disease and their family members. Objective: To find DNA changes that may be inherited and may cause or influence whether a person gets cancer. To study families with clusters of cancer to find out if there is a DNA mutation specific to certain cancers. Eligibility: People 18 years of age and older who: Participated in the familial genetic part of NIH study 09-C-0079, a previous study or had family members enrolled in this study Design: Participants may have been screened in the previous study. They will give permission for researchers to use their data and their tissue or blood samples collected in the study. Participants may give blood samples. At each stage of testing, participants will meet with a genetics health care provider. The provider will explain the tests and answer questions. If researchers find a DNA change that might increase the risk for cancer or other health issues, they will confirm this result in a testing lab. This will require a blood sample. Participants personal DNA data and health information will be put in a database for research purposes.

Long-term Outcome of HER2-amplified Metastatic Breast Cancer: A Retrospective Analysis

Long-term Outcome of HER2-amplified Metastatic Breast Cancer: A Retrospective Analysis

The aim of this study is to analyze cases of human epidermal growth factor receptor (HER) 2-positive metastatic breast cancer (MBC) of the last 10 years at the University Hospital of Zurich to assess the efficacy of the treatment with trastuzumab in HER2-positive MBC and to find out associations between different variables and the outcome. The aim is to find out probable prognostic factors and patterns of disease progression. Prognostic factors could optimize treatment approaches and result in a delay of disease progression.
