Effects of Neuromuscular Training With K-tape in Footballer With Ankle Sprain

This randomized controlled trial, conducted at the Pakistan Sports Board in Lahore from March to August 2023, investigates the impact of neuromuscular training with K-Tape on pain, range of motion, and balance in footballers with grade I and II ankle sprains. A total of 30 male participants aged 18-30, engaged in sports for at least one year with weekly training durations of 15-20 hours, are included in the study through a non-probability convenient sampling technique. The participants are divided into two groups: Group A (Control) receiving closed-chain exercises and Group B (Experimental) undergoing neuromuscular training with K-Tape. Data collection utilizes the Numeric Pain Rating Scale (NPRS) for pain, the Star Excursion Balance Test for dynamic balance, Foot and Ankle Ability Measure (FAAM)-Sport Subscale, and a goniometer for range of motion. Participants undergo three sessions of treatment per week for four weeks. The collected data will be analyzed using SPSS version 25, aiming to provide insights into the efficacy of neuromuscular training with K-Tape as a rehabilitation strategy for ankle sprains in footballers.

The Effect of Vibration Therapy on Pain, Functionality and Proprioception in İndividuals With Cervical Disc Herniation

This study aimed to examine the effects of vibration applied at different frequencies with a percussion massage gun on joint range of motion, pain, functionality and kinesiophobia in individuals with cervical disc herniation.All individuals participating in the study will receive a conventional treatment program. In the conventional treatment program, heat will be applied to the neck area for 20 minutes and TENS (100 Hz) will be applied to the painful area. Additionally, patients will be given joint range of motion (ROM) exercises under the supervision of a physiotherapist. Vibration Group Vibration application will be applied to the individuals in this group in addition to conventional methods. Vibration application will be applied to the trapezius, levator scapula and cervical paravertebral muscles with a percussion massage gun (Compex Fix 2.0) along the origo-insersio line for 3 minutes for each muscle group. Vibration application will be made with the soft head of the percussion massage gun. Vibration therapy will be applied 3 days a week for 3 weeks.

The Comparison of Proprioception and Gait Function Among Different Rotational Designs in Knee Arthroplasty

The symptoms of knee osteoarthritis include knee joint pain, impaired proprioception, and etc. Knee arthroplasty is commonly recommended for the patient with severe knee osteoarthritis to relieve pain and regain function. But the effects of arthroplasty on the proprioception and gait performance, which were related to the risk of falling, were not fully understood. Recently, the concept of enhancing the rotational movement has been introduced into the design of the knee joint prosthesis for mimicking the kinematic performance of the healthy knee. However, study on the functional performance after using these rotational designed arthroplasties was still scarce. So, the purpose of this study aims to evaluate the differences in the proprioception, balance function and gait performance among different designs of the knee arthroplasties with mobile bearing (MB), medial congruent (MC) and posterior stabilized (PS) design. This study is divided into the retrospective and prospective parts. Investigators will enroll the patients who already replaced their knee joint by one of the above knee arthroplasties for the retrospective part; other patients who plans to receive one of the above knee arthroplasties, twenty participants for each design and each part. The assessment of proprioception, balance function and gait performance will be performed before the knee arthroplasty, and followed at the post-surgery time points of six weeks and three months. The one-way ANOVA will be used to compare the group differences in the retrospective part, and the two-way mixed model ANOVA for the prospective part. Ultimately, the results of this study could help to have better knowledge of the treatment effects from the different designed knee arthroplasties.
