In the randomized controlled experimental study, data will be obtained using the Personal Information Form, Pregnant Observations and Birth Results, Prenatal Comfort Scale, Prenatal Distress Scale, Pregnancy Risk Perception Scale, Oxford Birth Anxiety Scale.

Cord blood, as an important alternative source of hematopoietic stem cells, can be used to reconstruct bone marrow hematopoietic and immune function, and is an effective means to treat children with blood diseases. However, at present, the collection rate of cord blood is not high in our country, only the mother have the right to decide whether or not. At the same time, domestic studies on cord blood collection are still very limited, for the lack of effective programs and policies, which can not provide help to improve the collection level of cord blood. Therefore, in order to improve the rate of umbilical cord blood collection, it is particularly necessary to build tools to help pregnant women decide whether to retain cord blood. This topic will investigate and analyze the cognition and retention intention of pregnant women for umbilical cord blood collection. At the same time, the related process of pregnant women for umbilical cord blood retention will be deeply explored. Based on the results of quantitative and qualitative investigation, Internet technology will be used to build a network platform for pregnant women for umbilical cord blood storage decision AIDS, and the effectiveness of this tool will be evaluated. To provide theoretical basis for clinical medical workers and umbilical cord blood bank staff to establish the decision plan of cord blood storage.

Progression of Metabolic Syndrome Components During Pregnancy

The goal of this cohort study is to investigate the underlying risk factors to develop metabolic syndrome (MetS) during pregnancy, and the associations of MetS and its indicators with birth outcomes in southwest Ethiopia. The study population consists of low-risk pregnant ladies in their first antenatal care visit (ANC), from Jimma Medical center. The main question[s] it aims to answer are: i) How do MetS components progress during pregnancy, and what are the underlying risk factors? ii) What is the association between MetS components during early- and late pregnancy and adverse pregnancy outcomes? iii) What is the knowledge, attitude and practices of women toward dietary habits, food taboos, and cultural beliefs during pregnancy? The study population consists of low-risk pregnant ladies in their first trimester (<15 weeks of pregnancy) in their first antenatal care visit (ANC) who will be followed up until one-month postpartum. Enrolled women will be assessed four times: at enrolment ≤15 weeks of pregnancy, mid-pregnancy (at 24 weeks), and late pregnancy (at 36 weeks), and within two weeks post-partum for: 1. Sociodemographic data 2. Dietary intake 3. Biochemical analyses 4. Maternal anthropometry: 5. Body composition in a subsample. 6. Knowledge, attitudes and practices of dietary practices during pregnancy 7. Pregnancy and birth outcomes: During the final visit, new born babies will be assessed for Apgar score, weight, length, and head circumference. The mother will be examined for general health and mode of delivery.

We Care About Brooklyn - A Digital Behavioral Intervention to Optimize Engagement in Maternal Healthcare

The goal of this clinical trial is to test a behavioral intervention in pregnant women who identify as Black and live in Central Brooklyn. The main question it aims to answer is whether the WeCAB intervention leads to a net improvement in utilization of postpartum care compared to those receiving usual care. The WeCAB group will have a dedicated WeCAB community health worker who will be trained in digital care navigation. Researchers will compare the WeCAB group versus the group receiving usual care to see if the patients randomized to WeCAB will have higher rates of early post-partum care compared to patients in the control group.

Prenatal Treatment of Congenital Cytomegalovirus Infection With Letermovir Versus Valaciclovir

The investigators' hypothesis is that maternal treatment with Letermovir will inhibit fetal CMV replication better than Valaciclovir in infected fetuses and lead to a higher proportion of negative CMV PCR at birth in cord blood. The main objective is to demonstrate that Letermovir administered to women carrying a CMV infected fetus following a maternal infection of the first trimester increases the proportion of neonates with a negative CMV PCR in neonatal blood collected in the first day of life or in cord blood in case of termination of pregnancy (TOP) compared to Valaciclovir. In each group , the proportion of asymptomatic neonates and the number and type of long-term sequelae at 2 years will also be assessed and compared.

Gestational weight gain (GWG), weight gain of a mother during pregnancy, is an important determinant that influence the health outcomes of mothers and fetus. There is an increasing trend of pregnant women using mobile health (mHealth) to assess for pregnancy-related health information. While evidence on the effectiveness of mHealth education on improving pregnancy outcomes among pregnant women is growing, the findings had been inconclusive with scarcity of such data in Malaysia. The objective of the study is to determine the effectiveness of a 9-month mHealth intervention on GWG and other outcomes (prenatal knowledge, physical activity, psychosocial well-being, nutritional status, quality of life and sleep quality) among pregnant women.

Testing Effects of Melatonin on Uterine Contractions in Women

The study will extend recent discoveries that have been made in basic human physiology related to responses melatonin and uterine contractions in late- or full-term pregnant women. The basic physiology work has been conducted in in vitro models of the human myometrium characterizing its responses to melatonin, and in pilot in vivo studies correlating the number of uterine contractions with melatonin concentrations that were manipulated by different types of light exposure. The planned experiments will test a causal link between circulating melatonin levels and uterine contractions in full-term pregnant women by manipulating melatonin levels using exogenous melatonin (i) during the day when endogenous levels of melatonin are very low (Experiment 1), and (ii) during the evening under conditions with lighting that would be expected to suppress the higher evening and nighttime levels of endogenous melatonin (Experiment 2).

The in-utero exposure of acute viral infection in some instances is proven to have short- and long-term neonatal effects during the postnatal and childhood period and the Zika virus, measles, mumps, and rubella are few examples. COVID-19 is caused by a novel coronavirus strain of unknown consequences. The main purpose of this registry is to collect baseline data and help to establish future studies and hypothesis generation. In addition, we will be exploring the psychological impact of COVID-19 on women during the pregnancy and postnatal period. Stress and anxiety level are increased with potential adverse pregnancy and/or neonatal outcomes especially during an infectious disease outbreak. In fact, COVID-19 is associated with adverse maternal and neonatal outcomes resulting in increased levels of stress and anxiety. In addition, women during the pregnancy, peripartum, and postpartum period are at increased risk of depression. A risk that has been aggravated by social and physical isolation. Indeed, the social and physical isolation, a critically needed measure to stop the virus transmission, resulted in increased stress and depression levels and adversely affecting the mental and physical health of both the mother and the baby.

Biomechanical and Viscoelastic Properties of Thoracolumbar Fascia in Pregnant Women

Pregnancy causes the development of biomechanical adaptations in the musculoskeletal system, especially in the lumbopelvic region. In this context, the thoracolumbar fascia (TLF) is the most important structure in this region and is an exoskeleton for the muscles of the lumbar region. However, it has not been objectively clarified how the TLF adapts to the changes in the lumbopelvic region during pregnancy. Therefore, the aim of this study is to investigate the trimester-specific biomechanical (stiffness, decrement and tone) and viscoelastic (creep and relaxation time) properties of the TLF, which adapts to the lumbopelvic region changes in pregnant women.
