NCT ID: NCT05452551 Completed - Diabetes Clinical Trials

Investigation of Myotonometer Reliability in Evaluation of Plantar Fascia Biomechanical Properties

Start date: July 6, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The study aims to examine the intra-rater, inter-rater, and inter-session reliability of MyotonPRO in measuring plantar fascia mechanical properties in adults with diabetes.

NCT ID: NCT04637841 Completed - Diabetes Mellitus Clinical Trials

Comparasion of the Immediate Effect of Myofascial Relaxation Technique and Kinesiology Taping

Start date: February 1, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

As a result of glycation of collagen fibers in diabetes mellitus, an increase in thickness and stiffness is observed in the plantar fascia, which is a connective tissue. These changes in the plantar fascia affect the windlass mechanism of the foot, normal range of motion and foot plantar pressure distribution. These biomechanical effects may cause the development of diabetic foot ulcers in the later stages of the disease. We hypothesis that myofascial release technique and kinesiology taping methods have an effect on plantar fascia stiffness and plantar pressure distribution in diabetic patients. The aim of this study is to investigate the immediate effects of the two methods on the stiffness of the plantar fascia and foot sole pressure distribution in diabetic patients.

NCT ID: NCT03014739 Completed - Achilles Tendon Clinical Trials

Evaluation of Shear Wave Elastography Reproducibility in Achilles Tendons and Plantar Fascia

ME1
Start date: June 2016
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Achilles tendon plays a significant role in walking and sporting activities, particularly through ankle joint and lower limbs stability. Ultrasound imaging can be the first-line examination of choice for patients suspected of having Achilles tendon injury, which is more and more frequent. Nowadays, ultrasound elastography can be used to evaluate the viscoelasticity properties of Achilles tendon, however little is known about the reproducibility of the technique. This study aims to evaluate the reproducibility of supersonic shear imaging SWE™ Young's modulus measurements of shear wave velocity (m/s) in Achilles tendon and plantar fascia.

NCT ID: NCT02855983 Completed - Plantar Fascia Clinical Trials

Perforating Fat Injections for Plantar Fasciosis

PRF
Start date: August 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The specific aim of this study is to determine whether perforating fat injections to the plantar fascia is a safe method to improve pain, quality of life, and reduce plantar fascia thickness for patients with chronic plantar fasciitis. We will also correlate the intrinsic fat properties of adipose stem cells (ie. growth factors) to the improvement in pain, quality of life, and plantar fascia thickness over time.
