Filter by:In brief the study aims to investigate how nursing home residents receiving dog visits respond to contact with the dog, by comparing visits with and without a dog present. The investigators will measure the response with non-invasive measures of the immediate physiological response, and objective behavioural measurements to quantity the activity and the actual amount and intensity of contact to the dog.
The study aims to investigate the effects of a service dog on military veterans with post traumatic stress syndrome (PTSD). The investigators will use non-invasive measures of the physiological responses, data obtained via dairy keeping, accelerometer data estimating activity and sleep patterns, and baseline information including psychological measures validated for this specific population.
The purpose of this study is to test whether compounds found in strawberries (polyphenolics which are typically found in berry products, tea, coffee, red wine, and chocolate) will help reduce insulin resistance and inflammation, known factors in your blood associated with disease risk, when eaten with a standard high fat/carbohydrate meal.
