NCT ID: NCT06350981 Not yet recruiting - Back Pain Clinical Trials

Analgesic Requirement for Post-Operative Pain Control in TLIP Interbody Fusion

Start date: April 1, 2024
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trail is to to compare the efficacy of thoracolumbar interfascial plane block with Exparel vs with standard of care 0.25% Bupivacaine HCl in patients undergoing 1-3 level elective transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion. The investigators hypothesize that thoracolumbar interfascial plane block with Exparel will outperform standard of care (supplemented with interfascial plane block of 0.25% Bupivacaine HCl) with regards to pain reduction, narcotic use, length of hospital stay, time to mobilization with physical therapy, narcotic usage in the hospital, and post operative pain scores.

NCT ID: NCT06289127 Completed - Healthy Clinical Trials

Test Properties of Lower Quarter Y-Balance Test: Effect of Verbal Instructions and Focus Techniques

Start date: July 20, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The Lower Quadrant Y-Balance Test (LQYBT) is a landmark test used in assessing lower extremity performance, determining risk factors for injury, and making return-to-sport decisions. Studies have shown that the individual's focus of attention affects balance. The literature, has shown that the use of external focus is more effective than the use of internal focus in the execution of a movement.Consistent with these findings, the use of an external focus instruction during the LQYBT may lead to achieve more realistic and a higher performance outcome than the test result with standard instructions. The primary aim of this study was to investigate the effects of using different instructions and focusing techniques on test performance on the LQYBT. The secondary aim was to investigate the reliability of the different instructions and focus tests we used for the LQYBT. Hypothesis of the study that test performance can be further enhanced by differentiating the instructions and focus techniques. A more effective assessment of individual performance may help us to make a more realistic decision to return to sport.

NCT ID: NCT05471297 Completed - Psychological Clinical Trials

Loads, Injuries and Illnesses Among Elite Handball Players

PPDC-2022
Start date: July 20, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Primary goal of the research is to determine whether injury/illness occurrence is influenced by the academic, training and competition loads, as well as the overall load (sum of academic/work, training and competition loads) in elite handball athletes To examine whether subjective measures of perceived overall stress correlate with objectively measured levels of stress. Determine the benefits of certain biomarkers to monitor stress, load and injury/illness occurrence in athletes.

NCT ID: NCT05389384 Active, not recruiting - Fatigue Clinical Trials

The Effect of a Passive Shoulder Exoskeleton and Muscle Fatigue on Occupational Work Performance

Start date: August 20, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

In this investigation, participants perform simulated occupational work during which the task performance will be logged. This research investigates the effect of peripheral fatigue and a passive shoulder exoskeleton on the task performance.

COVID-19 - Implications on Surgeons' Burnout and Career Satisfaction

SURG-SAT-19
Start date: June 15, 2020
Phase:
