NCT ID: NCT01676545 Active, not recruiting - Periodontitis Clinical Trials

Genetics of Periodontal Diseases in Chinese

Start date: July 2011
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

(A retrospective case control study to validate the association between Interleukin-1 gene variations and adult chronic periodontal disease in Chinese (Shanghai))

NCT ID: NCT01598155 Active, not recruiting - Periodontitis Clinical Trials

Effect of Supragingival Control Versus Supra- and Subgingival Control in the Periodontal Health During the Maintenance

Start date: May 2012
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Seventy patients will be previously treated for moderate-to-severe periodontitis according to their individual needs. Thirty days after completion of periodontal treatment, these patients will be randomized to one of the following groups of periodic preventive maintenance (PPM): G1 - performed only control supragingival; G2 - performed supra and subgingival control (when necessary). The maintenance consultations will be scheduled every 3 months for 24 months. The hypothesis is that the effect of the supragingival control (conducted over 24 months) will be similar to the effect of the supra- and subgingival control combined, above the restoration and progression of periodontitis.

NCT ID: NCT01082822 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Chronic Periodontitis

Periodontal Ligament Stem Cell Implantation in the Treatment of Periodontitis

Start date: January 2010
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Cell sheet technique possess the properties of conserving the ECM, rich molecules and retaining cell vitality, and will promote the capacity of cell adhesion and proliferation. The stem cell based cell sheet therapy has been utilized in many fields and scored the satisfactory results. Periodontitis is a chronic disease which causes the destruction of the periodontal tissue and leads to the teeth loss in the end. The routine cell-based therapy to the periodontitis was confronted with many difficulties. In the investigators previous preclinical research, +the investigators fabricated periodontal ligament stem cell (PDLSC) pellets and cell sheet fragment and applied them in the periodontal defect area for tissue regeneration and periodontitis treatment. And the investigators carried out a comprehensive study of the PDLSC allograft. The host responses and implanted cell fates were recorded. After the scientific investigation of the preclinical study, the investigators designed the preliminary clinical trial of PDLSC cell sheet for the chronic periodontitis therapy in the aims to test the PDLSC fates and explore one ideal transplantation mode.

NCT ID: NCT00502606 Active, not recruiting - Periodontitis Clinical Trials

a Clinical Study.the Effect of Addition of Insoluble Antibacterial Nanoparticles(IABN) in Resin Base Provisional Cement

IABN
Start date: February 2007
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

The effect of Antibacterial Nanoparticles, Incorporated in cement, on S.mutans in the margins of provisional restorations is going to be examined clinically by using two kinds of provisional cement 1. cement with out antibacterial nanoparticles. 2.cement with small addition of IABN. after one week in the mouth the crowns are to be removed and examined for the presence and quantity of s. mutans. in vitro tests of the same has shown significant reduction in bacterial population around the provisional cement as compared to the regular cement.

NCT ID: NCT00297531 Active, not recruiting - Periodontitis Clinical Trials

Study of Scaling and Root Planing With PerioWave Versus Scaling and Root Planing Alone in Chronic Periodontitis

Start date: April 2006
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

This study is to determine whether scaling and root planing (SRP) followed by photodynamic disinfection results in improved outcomes that persist over time in adults with chronic periodontitis when compared with subjects with SRP alone.

NCT ID: NCT00296881 Active, not recruiting - Periodontitis Clinical Trials

SRP in Combination With PERIOWAVE in Comparison to SRP Alone in Chronic Periodontitis

Start date: April 2006
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

This study is to determine whether scaling and root planning (SRP) followed by photodynamic disinfection results in improved outcomes that persist over time in adults with chronic periodontitis when compared with subjects with SRP alone.
