View clinical trials related to Periodontitis.
Filter by:The present study is designed as a single-centre, randomized, controlled clinical trial to evaluate and compare the clinical and radiographic efficacy of two local drug delivery systems containing 1.2% RSV gel and 1.2% ATV gel in treatment of intrabony defects in patients with chronic periodontitis as an adjunct to SRP.
The aims of the present study were to determine the gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) chemerin and interleukin-6 (IL-6) levels and to analyse the relationship between chemerin and IL-6 in periodontal health and in chronic periodontitis (CP) with and without type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) as well as to evaluate the effect of non-surgical periodontal therapy on the GCF chemerin levels.
Platelet rich fibrin is a second generation platelet concentration which contains various growth factors. The aim of this study is to evaluate the clinical and biochemical efficacy of PRF in subjects of chronic periodontitis in the operation of conventional periodontal flap.
This study is designed to evaluate the efficacy and the safety of YH23537 in Korea patients with chronic periodontitis, in order to investigate the recommended therapeutic dose.
Aim: To evaluate effect of non- surgical periodontal therapy on liver function in systemically healthy chronic periodontitis (CP) subjects. Materials and methods: The study is non surgical interventional trial, includes 50 CP subjects in the age group of 35- 60 years selected from the OPD (Out Patient Department) of department of periodontology Tatyasaheb Kore Dental College and Research center (TKDC and RC), Kolhapur. CP subjects were equally divided into test group and control group. Liver function test- aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT) were checked at baseline and at 1 month after treatment. Clinical examination includes plaque index, gingival index, sulcus bleeding index, probing depth, clinical attachment loss.
Metformin (MF), a biguanide group of anti-diabetic drug has been shown to enhance osteoblasts differentiation and inhibit osteoclast differentiation in vitro, thus may exhibit a favourable effect on alveolar bone. The present study aims to explore the efficacy of 1% MF gel as a local drug delivery system in adjunct to scaling and root planing (SRP) for the treatment of Class II furcation defects in comparison with placebo gel.
Our objective in this case-control intervention study, therefore, was to explore the effect of nonsurgical periodontal therapy on the GCF levels of vaspin and omentin in patients with chronic periodontitis in order to determine the usefulness of vaspin and omentin as a diagnostic and prognostic biomarker of periodontal disease.
The aim of this controlled study is to assess the clinical outcomes and patient reported outcomes of using minimally invasive surgical procedure with Straumann Emdogain as an adjunct (test treatment) or without Straumann Emdogain (control treatment).
Periodontal Disease is a ubiquitous in nature affecting about 80% population of India. The Periodontal Disease is a multifactorial but the dental plaque is considered as main etiological agent. The dental plaque, a adhesive bacterial coating accumulate around and in between teeth, if not removed by effective daily brushing and flossing, plaque can cause Gum infection and tooth loss. Though, many scientific periodontal procedures are available to get the treatment but because of lack of man power and poor socioeconomic condition it is not possible for every group of population in our India.
The aim of the present study were 1) to determine the role of these adipokines in the pathogenesis of periodontal disease, inflammation and tissue destruction comparing with gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) levels of TNF-α, which has a known pro-inflammatory effect in periodontal disease, 2) to investigate the effect of non-surgical periodontal treatment on GCF vaspin and omentin levels in type 2 diabetic (T2DM) patients with Chronic Periodontitis (CP).
