Evaluation of Chlorhexidine Gel Associated With Photodynamic Therapy in the Treatment in Diabetic Participants

Start date: June 15, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The objective of this clinical trial is to evaluate chlorhexidine gel associated with photodynamic therapy in the treatment of chronic periodontitis in diabetic participants. The main questions it aims to answer are: • To evaluate the clinical and microbiological response of conventional periodontal treatment associated with photodynamic therapy in diabetic participants. Participants will receive periodontal treatment carried out with the use of 2% chlorhexidine gel associated with 0.005% methylene blue and laser therapy, associated with conventional periodontal treatment, as well as the use of photodynamic therapy associated with conventional periodontal treatment in diabetic participants with periodontitis. So, twenty periodontitis patients will be selected and will separated in two groups compared with placebo. And, Clinical and microbiological parameters were evaluated at baseline and 3 months after periodontal treatment: Plaque Index, Bleeding On Probe, Probing depth, Gingival Recession and Clinical Attachment Level.

Investigate"Clinically" the Effectiveness of Boswellia Based Intracanal Medication Compared to Calcium Hydroxide Ca(OH)2 and Ledermix on the Levels of Bacteria and Inflammatory Cytokines in Root Canals and Periradicular Tissues of Teeth With Apical Periodontitis

Start date: June 1, 2022
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The objective of this study is to investigate "clinically" the effectiveness of Boswellia based intracanal medication compared to the commonly used intracanal medicaments (calcium hydroxide Ca(OH)2 and Ledermix) on the levels of bacteria and inflammatory cytokines in root canals and periradicular tissues of teeth with apical periodontitis.

NCT ID: NCT06465095 Recruiting - Periodontitis Clinical Trials

Evaluation of Inflammasome Gene Polymorphisms in Periodontitis Patients

Start date: July 1, 2024
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

The present study aimed to evaluate the distribution of NLRP3, AIM2, and IFI16 inflammasome gene polymorphisms in individuals with Stage III Grade B and C periodontitis and periodontally healthy individuals. 80 periodontally healthy, 80 Stage III Grade B and 80 Stage III Grade C periodontitis patients will be enrolled. Blood samples will be collected from each participants and clinical parameteres will be recorded for whole mouth. DNA isolation will be performed from all samples. The SNP regions with the numbers rs4612666, rs75985579, and rs2793845 will be detected from DNA material using Real-Time PCR device genotyping kits. Data will be analyzed using statistical tests.

(DDS) in India: a Screening Tool to Identify Prediabetes and Undiagnosed Type 2 Diabetes in Dental Settings

Start date: September 2024
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This study is conducted to evaluate validity of Diabetes Risk Assessment in Dentistry Score (DDS) in Indian population as a screening tool to identify patients with prediabetes and undiagnosed type 2 diabetes in dental setting. The DDS score of the patient will be correlated with the HbA1c levels and periodontal status of the patient. Such a study has been conducted in Germany but none has been validated in Indian population. Hence this study aims to assess the performance of DDS screening tool in Indian population.

NCT ID: NCT06450938 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Apical Periodontitis

No Code Artificial Intelligence to Detect Radiographic Features Associated With Unsatisfactory Endodontic Treatment

Start date: May 30, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Developing neural network-based models for image analysis can be time-consuming, requiring dataset design and model training. No-code AI platforms allow users to annotate object features without coding. Corrective annotation, a "human-in-the-loop" approach, refines AI segmentations iteratively. Dentistry has seen success with no-code AI for segmenting dental restorations. This study aims to assess radiographic features related to root canal treatment quality using a "human-in-the-loop" approach.

PROSpECT-PRIOR-2-CHEMO: PRIOR Dental Intervention Before Chemo to Reduce Chemotherapy Complications

Start date: July 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of this feasibility trial is to determine if it is safe and feasible to treat oral health diseases in people with haematological cancers before they start their chemotherapy to reduce complications and disruption to planned chemotherapy dose or schedule.

NCT ID: NCT06446011 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Chronic Kidney Diseases

Effects of RCT on Periapical Healing, Inflammatory Markers, and Kidney Function Indicators in CKD Patients With AP

Start date: July 12, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this prospective study is to determine the effect of non-surgical root canal treatment in chronic kidney disease patients and healthy patients with apical periodontitis.

NCT ID: NCT06443372 Completed - Periodontitis Clinical Trials

GCF Bax and Bcl-xl Levels in Periodontitis

Start date: March 22, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Intrinsic apoptosis pathway plays a critical role in the host immune defense and inflammation and its dysregulation is involved in various chronic diseases. Bcl-2 protein family primarly mediates this mitochondrial pathway. This study aimed to investigate the pro-apoptotic Bax and anti-apoptotic Bcl-xl levels and their association with interleukin-22 (IL-22) and transforming growth factor-beta 1 (TGF-β1) in gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) of patients with periodontitis. In total 75 systemically healthy and non-smoker individuals consisting of stage III periodontitis (n=23), gingivitis (n=26), periodontally healthy (n=26) were enrolled. Whole-mouth clinical periodontal measurements were recorded. Bax, Bcl-xl, IL-22 and TGF-β1 levels in GCF were determined by ELISA. Data were analyzed using non-parametric statistical tests.

Impact of MINST With and Without Splinting in Periodontitis Patients With Mobile Anterior Teeth

Start date: June 1, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trial is to evaluate impact of Minimally Invasive Non-Surgical Therapy (MINST) with and without splinting on clinical periodontal parameters and Oral Health Related Quality of Life (OHRQoL) in periodontitis patients with mobile anterior teeth. The main questions it aims to answer are: - Does splinting provide additional benefit to MINST alone for improving the clinical periodontal parameters ? - Does splinting provide additional benefit to MINST alone for improving OHRQoL ?

NCT ID: NCT06436339 Completed - Clinical trials for Apical Periodontitis

Association Between Apical Periodontitis and Psoriasis Vulgaris

Start date: February 2, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The aim of the present cross-sectional study is to assess the presence of AP and caries in psoriasis vulgaris individuals and to examine whether these medications influence these oral conditions. Therefore, 154 patients diagnosed with psoriasis were included in the study and subjected to oral examination to assess for presence of periapical lesions and caries experience.
