View clinical trials related to Peri-implantitis.
Filter by:A laser treatment for periimplantitis using two different wavelengths (Er:YAG and Nd:YAG) will be compared to standard treatment in a randomized clinical trial.
This study evaluates clinical and radiographic parameters among riks factor groups in patients with periimplantitis. This study will also treat and evaluate the patients response before and after surgical treatment.
Peri-implant diseases are common post-restorative complications in implant rehabilitations and they occur with an incidence of 12-43%. Based on the available data in literature, the surgical therapy for peri-implantitis is effective in disease resolution. Surgical access to peri-implant lesions facilitates the removal of all granulation tissue from the defect area as well as debridement and decontamination of the exposed implant surface defect area. Different techniques have been used for implant surface decontamination during peri-implant surgery, including mechanical, chemical and laser treatments.
The Aim of this study randomized prospective clinical trial is to examine and compare periimplant tissue changes between heavy smokers and non-smokers at 12 months post loading using the alpha Bio Neo standard diameter implants with conical abutment.
In recent years, dental implants have gained popularity as the treatment choice for replacement of missing teeth. With this, one of the late biological complications that arise is peri-implantitis. Based on a consensus conference in 2008, peri-implantitis was found in 28% and ≥ 56% of subjects and in 12% and 43% of implant sites (Zitzmann & Berglundh 2008). Detection of peri-implantitis is currently based on clinical parameters like probing depths and radiographic findings of bone loss. There is however no study that assess the variability of clinical probing and radiographic reading in relation to the true outline of the peri-implantitis lesion. The present study will measure variability of clinical probing and radiographs in relation to the true outline of the peri-implantitis lesion, as well as assess the use of 2 different bone substitutes in regenerating the lesions with a barrier membrane.
Peri-implantitis is a high prevalence disease that affects Dental Implants, and can lead to the implant loss if untreated. This condition isn't really well known, and treatments can't provide predictable results. The aim of this study will be to establish a link between the Epstein Barr Virus and the Peri-implantitis, as suggested by recent studies.
This is a multi-centre, randomized clinical trial which evaluates the efficiency of the collagen xenograft (Muco-Graft®) in comparison to the autologous connective tissue graft for the augmentation of keratinized mucosa and gaining hygienic access to the implants diagnosed with peri-implantitis.
Peri-implantitis are important disease entities as a result of their high prevalence and the lack of a standard mode of therapy. Non-surgical therapy of peri-implant disease, especially when bone loss is not high, appears to be partially effective in resolving the disease. In several cases, however, only limited improvements have been reported in the main clinical parameters (bleeding at the survey and presence of the pocket) and there is a clear tendency to relapse of the disease. In these cases it is therefore recommended to consider adjunctive therapies. Numerous approaches have been used for implant surface decontamination including mechanical, chemical and treatments by means of air-powder or laser. The aim of the present randomized controlled clinical trial will be to assess the efficacy in improving clinical parameters of two further methods of implant surface decontamination (Er:YAG laser or air-abrasive device) after mechanical and chemical cleaning during non surgical treatment of peri-implantitis.
This study aims to demonstrate the histological differences in the connective tissue surrounding laser-treated abutments and untreated abutments in humans. Working hypothesis: There are differences in the adhesion of collagen fibres around implant abutments with laser-produced microgrooves and standard abutments.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of a dental water jet on initial peri-implant disease resolution.
