Unilateral Secondary Breast Reconstruction Using a Muscle-sparing Pedicled Dorsal Flap After Breast Cancer

RMSU-LDPEM
Start date: October 1, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The use of pedicled dorsal flaps sparing the latissimus dorsi muscle (TDAP and MSLD flap) is a well-described reconstruction method in breast reconstruction after breast cancer. However, little data exists regarding patient satisfaction after this surgery. The main objective of this study was to evaluate patient satisfaction after unilateral total secondary breast reconstruction using a TDAP or MSLD flap.

Polyetherketoneketone and Metal Framework for Management of Maxillectomy Cases: Across Over Study

Start date: July 4, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Prosthetic rehabilitation of acquired maxillary defects represents a challenging mission for both the prosthodontist and psychologically traumatized patients. These defects may be due to trauma, pathological conditions, or surgical resection of oral tumors. The resulting main problem is oronasal communication leading to impairment in mastication, swallowing, speech, and facial esthetics

NCT ID: NCT06046625 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Patient Satisfaction

Needs and Preferences of Patients With Head-neck Cutaneous SCC

Start date: November 1, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The care of patients with high-risk cutaneous squamous cell carcinomas in the head-neck area is complex and requires a multidisciplinary approach. A key component in this care is the need and experience of patients. However, studies on the experiences and needs of patients with high-risk cutaneous squamous cell carcinomas in the head-neck region are lacking.

Patient Preference Between a Prefilled Syringe or a Prefilled Pen Device for Administration of Pegfilgrastim

PELGRAZ
Start date: June 9, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Febrile neutropenia (NF) is a common serious complication of cancer chemotherapy. Outpatient management of chemotherapy treatments is made essential by the volume of patients treated, respect for their quality of life and the lack of hospitalization resources. The prevention of NF is well documented and its success depends on the risks of developing NF related to the type of chemotherapy protocol used and the profile of the patient and his disease. Pegfilgrastim (G-CSF, biosimilar medicine) injection has been shown to prevent (febrile) neutropenia. It is routinely prescribed on an outpatient basis for patients treated with chemotherapy (CT), several thousand times a year in our geographical area. In order to take into account patient preferences and help clinical decision-making, this study will be conducted on the basis of self-administered questionnaires. The aim of the research is to assess patient preference for receiving administration of PELGRAZ (Accord Healthcare) using a prefilled syringe or a prefilled pen device. In a second step, this study will evaluate the learning of the patient and his autonomy during a pen self-injection guided by a nurse.

NCT ID: NCT05820789 Active, not recruiting - Anxiety Clinical Trials

Family Support Weaning From Mechanical Ventilation in Cardiovascular Surgery

Start date: April 30, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Mechanical ventilation support is used to ensure airway clarity in patients after surgery. If patients are not informed about mechanical ventilation treatment in the pre -operation period, panic, anxiety and comfort may be experienced when they wake up from anesthesia and find them in intensive care under mechanical ventilation with various tubes and equipment. The separation from the mechanical ventilator (MV) covers the patient's mechanical support and the entire process of separation of endotrakeal tube.During the separation of the mechanical ventilator, the support of one of the patient members of the patient may increase the stress and comfort of the patient. Therefore, this research is planned

NCT ID: NCT05284591 Active, not recruiting - Multiple Myeloma Clinical Trials

Non-interventional Study to Evaluate Patient and Healthcare Provider Satisfaction of Daratumumab Use in the Treatment of First-line Daratumumab, Lenalidomide, Dexamethasone (DRd) Multiple Myeloma Patients in Germany Depending on Application Route (sc or iv)

MYLENE
Start date: July 6, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

MYLENE is a prospective, multicenter, NIS to evaluate the patient and HCP satisfaction of sc and iv application of daratumumab in routine clinical practice in Germany. Patients observed in this study will be transplant ineligible NDMM patients for which the physician foresees an anti-myeloma therapy using DRd regimen as per local label. 250 NDMM patients treated with DRd will be enrolled (excluding screening failures, i.e., enrolled patients not fulfilling selection criteria identified before treatment start will be replaced) within 12 months in a proportion of approximately 1/3 patients receiving daratumumab sc and 2/3 patients receiving daratumumab iv as per physician's decision.

NCT ID: NCT05065944 Active, not recruiting - Prostate Cancer Clinical Trials

Comparing Pre-Anesthesia Evaluation Via Telemedicine Versus in Person for Surgical Patients at Moffitt Cancer Center

Start date: November 16, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This is a randomized controlled trial of patients scheduled for hysterectomy or prostatectomy surgeries who undergo a pre-anesthesia evaluation at Moffitt Cancer Center PreAnesthesia Testing (PAT) clinic. Traditionally, patients who met certain criteria based on type of surgery or comorbidities would undergo an in-person evaluation in our clinic. In order to make our patient's care more convenient and accessible, investigators have introduced telemedicine evaluation for a certain subset of patients meeting specific criteria. Investigators aim with this randomized trial to investigate the hypothesis that telemedicine pre-anesthesia evaluation is non-inferior to in-person evaluation from the standpoint of day of surgery cancellation rate.
