This study will evaluate pregnant women with a past or current diagnosis of depression or anxiety to gain a better understanding of how these disorders can affect an infant's development, both during and after pregnancy.
This study will evaluate the efficacy of 1-Hz rTMS applied to the right Dorsolateral Prefrontal Cortex (DLPFC) in patients with Panic Disorder (PD) and comorbid Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) who have not fully responded to conventional therapies. The investigators hypothesize that: 1. compared to sham (placebo), active rTMS will improve symptoms of PD and MDD as assessed with the Panic Disorder Severity Scale (PDSS), Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HDRS), and Clinical Global Impression (CGI); 2. active (but not sham) rTMS will normalize levels of motor cortex excitability relative to pre-treatment baseline.
We plan to examine genetic polymorphism of catechol-O-methyltransferase in panic disorder and neurobiological changes of panic disorder patients after 12 weeks of pharmacotherapy with paroxetine. We plan to include 40 panic disorder patients and 40 normal control subjects in this study for 3 years.
Panic disorder(PD)is a disabling psychiatric condition associated with significant impairment in psychosocial, occupational functioning and quality of life, as mentioned by mogotsi et al. So, most patients with panic disorder suffers from the consequences of the impairment in occupational function. This impairment is not only individual problem, but also social one. Since productivity is very important item required to employees, lost productive time among workers with psychiatric illness should be reduced by the proper management. But few data were reported in this field by now.
We are developing Staccatoâ„¢ Alprazolam for the treatment of Panic attacks associated with panic disorder. This study will provide an initial assessment of efficacy, and to continue to describe the tolerability and pharmacokinetics, of a single inhaled dose of Staccato Alprazolam on a doxapram-induced panic attack in patients with panic disorder.
This study compares the efficacy of risperidone to that of paroxetine in the treatment of panic attacks in patients with Panic Disorder and with Major Depressive Disorder with Panic attacks and compares the side effect profile of risperidone vs. paroxetine in treatment of panic attacks and compares response rates of risperidone vs. paroxetine in treatment of panic attacks.
