Filter by:This is a single site, single-blinded parallel randomized control trial that investigates a multi-level intervention to improve postpartum blood pressure in women with hypertensive disorder pregnancy. The investigators will recruit women diagnosed with a hypertensive disorder of pregnancy, identified between 3rd trimester and 2 weeks post-delivery. The investigators will randomize participants to receive usual care home blood pressure monitoring for 6 weeks versus an intervention of usual care + blood pressure and weight monitoring + a doula trained in heart health. This trial will be conducted in partnership with a local community-based organization, Healthy Start Inc.
The investigators aim to assess 24-hour protein kinetics at two different levels of protein intake: 0.8 (RDA) and 1.6g/kg/day (2RDA) during a normal dietary (TRAD) and a time restricted feeding (TRF) pattern in older adults.
The goals of this study are to 1) pilot the feasibility of a novel meal kit delivery intervention in families and children with food insecurity and obesity and 2) evaluate the implementation of the pilot intervention.
Energy Deficit Syndrome (RED-S) is the impairment of physiological functioning caused by relative energy deficiency and includes impaired metabolic rate, menstrual, endocrine, hematological, immunological, gastrointestinal, bone, psychological, developmental and cardiovascular function. Eighty-seven percent of athletes show at least one symptom related to RED-S, with a higher prevalence in women. Treatment of RED-S preferably involves a multidisciplinary team of health professionals to address the complex interaction of nutrition, training, body image and performance. The main objective is to prevent energy deficit syndrome in female athletes in the province of Alicante through different training and diet protocols using a virtual platform. A 12-week single-blind randomized clinical trial with an intervention period and a control period (RCT) is proposed. The sports federations of the most representative practices in the province of Alicante will be selected by randomized sampling. The female athletes will be randomly divided into 4 groups (control group; control group with free use of the virtual platform; intervention group with Mediterranean diet and physical exercise planning; intervention group with red fruits and physical exercise planning).
NUTRITION CCS is a cross-sectional, descriptive study to assess the relationship between body composition and demographic, socioeconomic status, treatment modalities and blood samples of survivors who were in remission. The study was conducted in the Clinic for childhood cancer survivors. The clinic is attended by patients older than 18 years and was built in 2016 at the St. Anne's Hospital in Brno.
In this study, 18-60 years old patients with metabolic associated fatty liver disease(MAFLD) will be recruited to test the intervention effect of vegetarian diet. This randomized clinical trial randomized individuals to a healthy vegetarian diet or a healthy omnivorous diet for 24 weeks. At the baseline and after the 24week intervention, the clinical manifestations of MAFLD, obesity levels, indices for glucose and lipid metabolism parameters, results of questionnaire and fecal samples will be collected and analyzed.
Disease-related malnutrition (DRM) can occur when there is a deficient supply of energy, protein and/or other nutrients, depending on the nutritional needs of each individual at different times of their life cycle or health or disease circumstances. This deficiency induces effects on body composition and tissue and organ function and results in clinical consequences: increased morbidity and mortality associated with different disease processes. There are techniques for nutritional assessment using assessment tools aimed at morphofunctional diagnosis of malnutrition, in addition to the classical nutritional parameters, such as weight loss, BMI, folds, circumferences, albumin, lymphocytes, cholesterol and intake. New advanced parameters are being incorporated into clinical nutrition and their incorporation into clinical practice is of increasing interest, such as measures derived from bioelectrical impedance (BIA) and phase angle (PhA), dynamometry, functional tests, CRP/prealbumin ratio and muscle ultrasound. In 2019, the GLIM criteria were published, providing a different vision of how to assess the malnourished patient. Phenotypic criteria include reduction in muscle mass (measured using validated techniques to measure body composition). The objective of the study is to highlight nutritional ultrasound for measuring muscle and functional status in order to make a more accurate diagnosis and a better prediction of complications and morbidity and mortality in this type of patients.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and performance of DTXO App in improving weight loss and weight-loss maintenance in obese patients exposed to an experimental non-pharmacological treatment program. nutritional intervention with ready to use therapeutic food (plumpy nut. by Unicef) and Prebiotics supplimentation ( Galactooligosaccarides). will be given to uncomplicated severe acute malnourished children of 06 months to 59 months of age in southern Punjab Pakistan.one group will be given Ready to use therapeutic food and placebo the other group will be given Prebiotics supplementation (Galacto oligosaccharides) with RUTF ( Ready to use therapeutic Foods).for 60 days primary out will be Mid Upper Arm Circumference >11.5 centimetre
Current nutritional diagnostic tools have serious limitations in certain groups of patients such as colon or ovarian cancer with high rates of overweight and obesity in which traditional anthropometric assessment is limited. The objective of the project is to establish a comprehensive nutritional assessment in surgical patients assessed in intensified recovery programs in Surgery at a national level, including new techniques aimed at measuring muscular and functional affection.
